I was unpacking a flawed analogy. There isn’t actually any correlation between health/fitness and game mechanics in WoW.
It is the guy I responded to who you should be talking to, since he’s the one who initially decided to connect the 2 concepts.
don’t cut part of my words…as i said this as a whole
a super intelligent person as you, shouldn’t even be here, go get lost then
you’re so damn smart, that you can’t even understand common words, it’s clearly obvious that i’m not opposed LFD and ofc i don’t approve on dunge carries/boosts.
Just as an aside, I don’t personally see an issue with “boosting” in the sense of a higher level friend carrying lower level friends through a dungeon, conceptually.
This is something that is generally within realm of standard commonplace interactions between high levels and low levels.
The “problem” I guess is that it’s mostly become a business now and in a lot of cases is the absolute most efficient way to level to the point that it’s the chosen method over “traditional” means…thus emptying the world and questing player pool.
Blizzard can easily break this though, if they feel like it because the class that does the boosting is easily identified (it’s pretty much just mages) and theres a ton of viable ways to break the way they do it that don’t have wide-reaching effects.
I guess I just don’t agree with discussing “boosting” as if it’s some kind of dirty word, such as RMTing or getting piloted to a Glad title or something.
It’s really this. Wrath has the potential to bring in a lot of new players who didn’t play Classic or TBCC. The vast majority of the players don’t come to the forums. They don’t follow every little bit of detail Blizz releases about Classic. When they hear Wrath is coming they say, ‘Oh cool, Wrath. That was a fun expansion. I’ll try that out.’ And they’ll come in with certain expectations. One of them is Dungeon Finder. It was there the last year of the expansion. It catapulted dungeon accessibility for the casuals (aka the vast majority of players).
They’re going to expect it, and when it’s not there, what do they see in its place? LFG channel of endless WTS DUNGEON RUN 100G!!! all day long every day. You really think that appeals to Joe Shmo average player? He just wants to relax, chill out and do some fun old dungeons. And instead a giant gate is locked in front of them guarded by these elitist min/max tryhards. But they’ll run you through…if you pay.
How in the Hell is that better than having dungeon finder where every player can play what they want, when they want, and access the content they want? I am truly flabbergasted at what the devs are thinking.
Have you considered for a moment that Classic players actually don’t want those new players?
Some might argue those players are what guided Blizzard down the wrong path in the first place.
boosting is a double edged sword, it has alot of pros & alot of cons, but the standard word “boosting” are used toward those same mages playing 12hours a day advertising for boosts in dungeons, it’s clear that those mages are doing nothing in wow except boosting
http://img4.imagetitan.com/img.php?image=25_worldofboosts.jpg
anyone on fearlina can add them all and track them all, they wouldn’t play wow to spend 12hours a day, everyday and they stay with same gear, so what are they doing with the gold they collect? they’re not even spending it. ofc they’re selling it.
if such type of boosts exist? then RMT surely exist, however blizzard never did break the issue with RMT, they didn’t even eliminate bots, i can still see bots in zang/nagrand farming 24/7
it’s a hopeless case with wow this days, and literally it’s kindda pay2win if people can use real cash to get anything they need in game.
i can just put my CC and then
best gear(via gdkp), best gems, best enchants, fast mount, & even high rate.
btw…if classic players don’t want new players to join? you’re better off making a private server and play on it with what you call classic players, people who wants to play wotlk want nothing but wotlk with all the same content, same features that already existed in wotlk.
If someone is upset that new players they have never met would be coming in and playing the game it shows a lot about that person.
That would be extremely antisocial. That doesn’t sound like a community worth preserving.
It’s nothing personal, you just want something different from the product than I do.
How do you know that? How do you know that I want? Just because I like X version of a game?
If you just want to complain so much you are not really worth my time.
I want to find people who are looking to have fun in this game, not spend their time talking about how horrible the community is. There is so much of that in the world why would I want that in my guild mates and friends on this game?
You want RDF which I believe has wide reaching negative implications for the games future core design trajectory.
You directly desire the annihilation of the thing I enjoy currently.
I’d say that’s an appropriate reason enough to respectfully reject the idea that because of that, there must be critical character flaws simply because I choose to voice that I’d prefer you just didn’t play.
Well telling people not to play what to you expect but anger? You are not in a position to tell people if they can or can not play this game. Anyomore than I am or any of us.
I mean, I’m not necessarily telling you to not play.
I’m more saying don’t expect to get RDF if you do play.
Then typically what happens next is you spend the next 2 years of the expansion whining on the forum hoping Blizzard caves on it.
These are irritants that can generally be avoided by both parties if you just pick a different game.
By all means though, play WOTLK Classic, just don’t expect DF.
So I will suddenly go back to complaining about something I have put to bed? You seem to know things about myself that I don’t even know. Strange.
Can I ask you will I get a lottery ticket as well? Please you see my future so tell me.
I’m not specifically referring to you, particularly.
It’s just the general type of “Wrath baby” style player.
Ya I am just going to walk away. Considering all I am is a “Wrath baby” for enjoying Wrath and beyond just shows me nothing productive is going to come from this convo.
I highlighted it. Need anything else?
So you’re offended that somebody told you to play a different game instead of go through a potentially arbitrary whining process to “fix” to the way you like, even though the game in question is already what the other person likes.
Interesting level of sensitivity.
Perhaps maybe just let other people enjoy the things they like instead of screaming that’s it not what you want?
Nope…you’re just doin’ you…which is to say you seem to enjoy being non-stop toxic without ever having anything constructive to add…but you do you…
First off. I have no clue what you’re saying. I don’t, they don’t, nobody does.
I just did what you asked. You wanted me to highlight something you said. I did it. I’ll do it again. I’m trying to be friendly here.
