The .01% rare drop was a rare pet from doing certain MOP quests / dailies. It dropped but when you activate it then it went POOF gone. It just vanished. So I made a ticket about it and they confirmed there was a known issue but then instead of giving the pet back / fixing it they just said “good luck on getting it again” and they originally weren’t going to compensate it.
Do you mean people pretending nothing is wrong with the customer service or people who wanted the issue fixed?
Yeah, not every employee is on the same page about everything. Happens at companies all the time.

you mean… “people who understand policy”?
why are you so hesitant to mention the name of the item?
surely if it was a bug, you’d want to warn people about the possibility of issues?
You threw a little hissy fit because you didn’t immediately get what you wanted. How can you claim that they did nothing for days until you harassed them enough to do something. How can you verify that they were indeed doing nothing, instead of working on the issue and looking deeper into it. Clearly they were doing just that it you wouldn’t have gotten anything fixed because blizzard won’t just give in to stop getting tickets put in by you lol.
That’s exactly what I’m talking about.
Snarky, dismissive people with zero empathy and immediately rushing to Blizzard’s defense.
Sickening.

the one thing ill say about blizzard is their CS is fantastic. never had a problem getting a problem resolved.
last week they charged my card twice because i screwed up and logged into the wrong account and they refunded it no questions asked.
Ah yes I made a ticket asking for help on an issue beyond my control and that was so childish of me asking for help with something. I didn’t realize that the support page was actually a hissy fit button. How silly of me I should have known.
the hissy fit part, was running to the forum to complain you were unsubbing, before the issue had been looked into properly.
I posted days after I put in the ticket and had been told already twice nothing would be done despite them saying it was on their end.
Also last time I checked anyone can have an opinion and my opinion is that they did a lot better when they let their game masters have more control and could talk to people in person to help with issues. After MOP their in game support started to go down hill in a hurry. Defend Blizzard all you want but I’ve been around since BC and they’ve steadily gone down hill since Cataclysm and recently it has slowly been worse and worse.

only… that wasn’t the case.
…which means that the issue was looked at, and GMs were given the OK to go ahead and return any pets which were caught up in the problem.
…just the same as with the Bananas pet a few weeks ago.
1st: your talent for describing things to funny WoW related things is awesome! I read this whole post in dwarf voice.
2nd: your absolutely right. I was stunned to find out that you cannot even call their customer support any longer if you are experiencing major issues. This company has lost its heart. From how these forums are treated, to the Q&As, to how the fans are spoke to at Blizzcon to not even being there if they are asked for help.
I don’t blame the people who are trying and work there in customer service it’s the company as a whole, it seems cheaper than it used to.

So you expect the OP just to sit around while his issue are looked into by an otherwise unearthly force of devs who we hear no rhythm or rhyme from?

yeah that’s how it works.
that’s also how it worked for the people who had issues with their Bananas.
how do you expect these situations to be managed?
daily updates aren’t exactly viable.
Except one is a food source and the other is a commercial product, which there are plentiful functioning ones to choose from.
The tantrum wasn’t the ticket lol. The fact that needs to be explained to you pretty much sums this up.
You mean they didn’t tell you to go to wowhead?
dont matter if youre quitting

what planet are you on right now?
Bananas is a pet, not a food.
people who claimed it weren’t receiving it.
there was a bug.
while players could open tickets about the issue, GMs weren’t able to just give people pets out of the kindness of their hearts.
the issue needed to be forwarded to QA for assessment first.
once GMs had been given the OK to award the pets to the people who didn’t get them, they were able to do that.
exactly the same thing that the OP was experiencing.
there are standard protocols which take place.
bug happens
bug gets reported
bug gets investigated
bug gets resolved.
…but the drama will last a lifetime!
