This is what's actually coming in 8.1

for non raid/mythic inclined players this will be fine. Its more mogs, never a bad thing.

Unless content makes 350 not viable its a decent level to be gear wise for more open world stuff. IMO anyway. 350 what is what most should get off open world mixed with warfront stuff of they have played a bit. the 370 gimme’s once a week, 340’s at a chance for forge. I even found an upgrade or 2 in the emissary vendor when I exalted most on this char and all on the horde.

8.1 does include Battle of Dazar’alor. 8.1.5 is Crucible of Storms and all of the fun afterthoughts, such as the micro-holidays that don’t reward you with anything.

The people who say that they enjoy BFA are so fake. I mean - art is a ‘2’ in numbers meaning that not everyone will like it, not everyone will dislike it; but these people who are like “oh, bfa is so great. idk what you’re talking about!!!”… get real.

OP is right, and I haven’t enjoyed BFA other than leveling 110-115. After that, I was like:

  1. Every quest is the same. Kill, kill, kill, avoid multitude of monsters…
  2. The level design was intended to be disgusting/boring?
  3. Just why? There’s no real engagement. Almost no engaging story, quests are all the same, lots of things are just rehashed artwork.
  4. Why on earth did the developers decide that this was exciting? OR DID THEY??? This has gotta be some type of revenge towards the negativity of the players, OR they’re intentionally dumbing down the game design so that in the future we won’t have such high expectations of the game (and people call that great!?)

This is my take on this xpac.

I look forward to finally leveling all my alts on my new server.
And the new raid on January 22nd.
That’s all I’m really excited for.

Honestly this is the part that i hate the most. Nothing like having to wait a month after the content comes out to fully be able to even get a shot at it.

TO be honest i have never been this like, just not excited for a content patch ever, if anything the only thing im excited about is that we are just one more step toward the next exp for A team. A team at least seems to know what they are doing, B team, the team that brought us WoD and now BFA keep swinging and missing.

Karazhan was welcomed by many until the many realized it didn’t have a queue option.

They didn’t learn the lesson from Cata (Firelands).

Yeah I admit OP, this feels like 6.1 all over again lol I mean at least there are new things coming, but the main problem is there is lack of incentive to do them…

Then don’t say WE, speak for yourself otherwise your just trying to stir the pot and justify your own disliking things by trying an us and them argument, when it is You and your issue with something. “I dislike ____” not WE

You forgot to mention the changes to the way the cosmetic rewards are dropped. Instead of farming all the trash of a particular type, the rewards are based on the mob types on the island. It doesn’t matter how many or few you kill. The reward chance is the same. This means less of a disconnect between those farming AP and those farming toys and pets. Everyone can just run the island.

They also made the trash less common and elites more so. This means the zerg AoE strat won’t work as well. Players will have to actually put some thought and effort into combat.

First, it’s a reskin in the same way every dungeon since the Wailing Caverns and Deadmines is a reskin or every raid since MC is a reskin. Fight bosses, fight trash. Amiright?

Second, the gear will only be Heroic quality for a couple of weeks till the next raid opens and all gear goes up in level.

Third, this warfront will be with us for the next 18 months at least. I’m pretty sure everyone will get a chance to run the scenario. A couple of weeks won’t mean jack come June.

So, better world quests that give a greater reward than now. Also, this reskin nonsense again? The gameplay styles and mechanics are kinda limited by this being an MMO. Do you expect a FIFA WQ or maybe an FPS WQ (aside from Beachhead)? Maybe a puzzle or two? I’m sure that would go down well.

How do you know how the questline will be gated? From what I’ve heard the individual quests and story is very solid.

This is like saying “Oh boy, another NFL season. Same teams throwing a ball around in the same way for the same prize as last year. Exciting”

Don’t forget - it has a name. It’s called Tides of Vengeance. Because of all the premium content.

Blizzard’s blatant disconnection with the community (deletion of feedback forums) is apparent with BFA and 8.1. It stinks of lack of innovation, passion or effort to make a fun, engaging gaming experience. Overall I have enjoyed BFA but it’s so evident that WOW hasn’t suffered in the past as it does now. A relevant portion of the community (including people who have already left) are unhappy with where we are today. And how patch 8.1 is shaping up to be received, I’m not convinced that’ll change much. Yet I look forward to the huge nerf to the XP required to level, that’ll be nice and give me enough motivation to level my allied classes.

It is my estimation that Blizzard has lost that fiery passion that got them to where they are today. BFA is merely a “re-skin” of Legion, but with drained class fantasy.

I have one question for Blizzard: “Don’t you have game developers?”

This is a salt mine worth of salt.

The sad irony is many of these so called “haters” just want the game to be better.

Blizzard have done so much better with some of the past expansions. Hell, Legion was not even three years ago and feels like it is on a completely different page to BfA. Blizzard are clearly capable of putting out better content with more acceptable frequency. For whatever reason though, they are clearly choosing not to do it. This is why people are upset.

They also changed xp required for 1-110.
Reputation unlocks, so your alts can max their necks finally.
Other xmog things like fist weapons being xmoged to 1h.

Actually it doesn’t. The raid tier doesn’t come till jan. 22nd more then a month from now. Functionally speaking if you quit the game in 8.0 theres no reason to come back for 8.1

I see patch as a off thing to do. They are probably a ton of stuff other want to do. There just a few things I want to do. it all part of playing a game were there are vast amount of people. That play game in their own way. That weird thing about wow they have customers every where in world. with various taste in what they like in game and make it work mostly.

Only thing I do not like and one thing makes no sense is how this patch is gated for next two months on various things. Not going to see everything it offers till end of February. Well probably a good thing for some players and they liking it. Me not so much.

Patch 8.2 does not come out until when? I actually do not know. I am guessing is to stretch the patch so there not a long wait for next one. In essence this game has too many based groups to appease all. they get most some times and sometimes not.

Does 8.1.5 only add the raid or does it add other things?

Im concerned ill be to busy enjoying all that content you listed thats it no worrys whats so ever from my end.

Seems like the things worth doing the most don’t come out until season 2. Was happy the WQ went up I though I can finally start progressing again then the last week they dropped everything to the EXACT same level it is now on PTR.
