Drip feeding them + hours of effort for a 15 minute questline. The heritage sets are awesome, but yikes… there’s almost no content behind getting these epic pieces. There’s no work you have to put in except for wearing your race’s tabard and farm The Botanica about 50 times.
Hence why the 8.1 survival guide video got heavily downvoted because it hardly adds much content and doesn’t solve issues many players had. 6min/week questlines don’t cut it anymore.
Oh, those people I report and then ignore their existence.
But this forum is actually full of people who dislike aspects of this game. I don’t like a lot of things that have happened over the past few expansions.
But it is about tone and how you present your opinions, as well. This thread did seem to immediately come across as “I’m right and you’re wrong and it all sucks” until your last paragraph. Which… I can guarantee people didn’t even get to before immediately starting to quote and refute what came across as you pushing your agenda on others. Even I pointed out that what you’re disliking and how you presented it isn’t how everyone else sees it.
I just try to do so without being hostile. Unlike the dude you quoted who just needs a forum vacation.
Yea but these ones look interesting, the Gilnean town Fascinates me the most. Also Blizzard says they are adding stuff to the Island invasion system I waan see what they do with it.
So the night elves finally going back to their WC3 roots does not mean anything to you?
The faction conflict is actually heating up …this means the time to build up our strength is gone and now the action starts.
Again the storyline is continuing.
Look it is obvious you care more about numbers and gear than the actual story but that is not the kind of game WoW is. For those of us who value the story of the game this is exciting.
after seeing footage of the new IE i am excited to see the new ones
i don’t hate them as much as everyone else but a large part of that comes from over gearing them. they really aren’t so bad when you can’t die and i’m looking forward to mindless farming, assuming the pets can be sold?
The islands look cool, but that’s about as far as they go. As for what they’ve added in 8.1: An Azerite Extractor and Azerite Rupture which is a terrible source of Azerite, removing a bunch of trash mobs, as well as incentivizing Seafarer’s Dubloons with cosmetics and adding a weekly quest that gives you another clicky mission to do for extra rewards. Not anything new or game-breaking, in my opinion.
I think it’s awesome that the night elves are going back to their WCIII roots. The cinematic was especially awesome. The Warfront itself is what I find to be terrible gameplay. I never said I didn’t enjoy the story behind it.
Yup. The faction conflict is heating up… no PvP world quests and more imbalanced War Mode. They could’ve made it so there were some sort of new open-world system to do in 8.1 rather than copying the Legion Invasion system and just using world quests.
Yes, with 6 minutes of content every week.
I value the story of the game just as much as I do the gearing. World of Warcraft is supposed to be both, not just story. We might as well call it a slot machine story book. I’d rather have fun progressing in different ways while experiencing the story rather than just getting things handed to me and not having a challenge presented to me.
Point of order, they aren’t going back to anything other than their tired and worn depiction in WoW as punching bags.
is it? I think the biggest conflicts are already behind us. Dazar’alor is just a loot festival where the meaningful parts of the story are only experienced by the Horde, either as a Horde player or an Alliance player ‘converted’ to Horde for the experience.
Even small changes can have massive impacts on the fun factor of something.
The battle for Darkshore warfront is going to be different than the arathi one.
Now I admit a PVP version of the Warfront would be fun but it is not as boring as you imply.
IDK about you but the War Mode on my server seemed quite balanced and TBH Legion PVP was not any better. Each side had their own towers so unless you were LOOKING for PVP ya would likely do the WQ without encountering PVP.
At least it was fun …I remember being not able to continue the Suramar story line for the longest time because I could not find a group to help me do the quests in the elite area.,
The Cinematic says otherwise
The Alliance are sieging the the city I am sure both sides will get very good story.
The cinematic didn’t show Nathanos and 2 Valkyr lolstomping Tyrande and Malfurion whilst raising two named night elf heroes as Forsaken before flying off to victory with a legion of Dark Rangers loyal to the Horde.
Only the horde side drops mounts and awards titles.
WE WHO? you don’t speak for anyone but yourself and unless you are royalty you are not a WE.
I’m talking about the players who dislike the changes, not all the players. Chill out lol
And what does the night elf victory look like, you must remember the warfront is going to change hands constantly.
source please.
A new transmog set. Meat wagon mount. It’s all that matters, really.
Really! Was there a poll I was left out of that gave you the numbers that said no one would do them or are you just pulling numbers out of somewhere south of your tailbone?
I’m actually looking forward to them as are many others I know in game!
Hurrray! We have another Elitest whining because others will get gear without having to belong to his select group of Elitest jerks!
Oh, look! Even more whining because they didn’t make content that was locked behind being an Elite Raider
Pretty much reads as if you hate everything
She’s talking about the actual Tyrande’s Ascension scenario. You’d probably know if you did it ;p
Also, she is wrong for the raid. Both sides can get both the titles and mounts.
8.1 does not include any raid content 8.1.5 does its been said by ion himself!
not getting backhanded by Nathanos and having your named heroes and newly minted night warriors turned into undead Dark Rangers, not having your territory perennially turned into a stinking warfront. Not losing. That’s what victory looks like. Think of say, how the Horde won the War of Thorns. That’s what victory looks like. Not Darkshore. Darkshore is defeat.

There is no AotC for Rastakhan cause he’s not the final boss,.
Hard same. They are mindless enough I can do them while watching something on TV. Perfect for leveling alts. And with the xp nerfs for lower levels I get the sense I’m about to be doing a lot more of them.
I been here for whatever patch the game has been heading in this direction for awhile. Oh well I will be 110 in BFA and play classic.
Yeah, but there’s also many others in-game who aren’t looking forward to them. Just because there’s a lot of people who do doesn’t mean there isn’t a lot of people who don’t.
If the content were engaging and provided a level of challenge for each difficulty, I’d be totally down with that. Also, do some LFR or something. Blizzard has made raiding “accessible” and “enjoyable for all players” with it. Never knew wanting to enjoy a core aspect of the game = elitist.
My major concern is that there’s no new open-world mechanics that differentiates itself from world quests. For this particular topic, gear is an afterthought if they can make it fun and not just copy and paste world quests.
Nah.
