Blizzard abandoned this whole feedback tool, there’s not Live chats as promised on the announcement video, there’s not a feedback structure or clear guidelines from Community managers.
This joke deserves to be a comment inside a thread about Character customization, because it’s important for some worgen players, roleplay its part of the game…etc, this is the exact same topic about High elf and how those players got the customizations for Void Elf.
If Blizzard didn’t added high elf customizations as part of the void elf race and some kind of joke happened like this, there’ll be more people complaining compared to this.
This here would have been acceptable and more professional response, instead of an toxic insult from a Drakthyr joke as a response. Draenei, and pandas have tails, none of the context refers as such from both races as a joke until Drakthyr as a new race came, it was intentional for such behavior.
While working on worgan customizations, a toggle tail wouldn’t have hurt any non worgan players. The concept art in some Hearthstone cards is what gave the idea, worgans with a possibility to have tails.
My issue with the CC is that it defeats the purpose of the GD. They need to give everyone else some say in the matter. E.g. upvotes/downvotes in the CC forum. Right now we’re just an overglorified and unmoderated chatroom.
Blizzard didn’t need a CC at all, there’s a forum section for almost anything, also they can request community managers to check discord, communities…etc for feedback. Idk what those CM do all the time, if you join any mount collector discord / fb group, you’ll find common issues , feedback…etc same for other topics.
“Specifically with World of Warcraft, our creative director Alex [Afrasiabi] said a wonderful thing. He said our story rooms are dojos. They’re sacred places. And we try to tell a story as best we can and to make our players as happy as we can. But we try not to let the negativity enter the dojo,” said George Krstic, Blizzard’s director of story and franchise development during his keynote address at Reboot Develop today.
"You’ve got to clear your mind, focus your mind and do good work. Do we listen to our players and our fans? Absolutely. But also we try not to let that distract us from our end goal of the expansion or the new patch. We have a plan. We are listening. But also those voices can get pretty loud out there.
They could have capable community people passing feedback along, but that feedback might not be allowed in “the dojo”.
I can imagine someone going “this doesn’t pass the vibe check,”
Also negativity and criticism is a key component of growing and doing better. Good stories tend to teach us that despite our failings, we can do better. No wonder the story has been crap.
