They’re warband transferable, so just run your alts and transfer the tokens.
Yeh figured that out, currently can do 55% at least.
I was expecting 20% XP bonus. We were all talking about it last week. I waited 20 years for 20% and it got nerfed, lol. We were like “The one good thing about this year is we can really level alts fast during the anniversary”
If I were Blizz, I would have given each account 1 free token for a tier 2 set of their choice. That would have hooked people into farming the other sets for their alts. Sure, some people only have one character, or some people would choose not to farm for their alts, but I think that would have been offset by the number of people willing to farm because of the goodwill engineered by the free set.
its the best anniversary to sit around and do nothing pretty much. Taking advantage of listening to stories and smoking tons of felweed and just chillin.
Honestly, I expected a truly wonderful event, Exciting things going on, with new and wild things to do at this little hub. 80%+ of this content you can do in game at any time. This is the most boring 20th Aniversity Event.
Where is the large sphere with the new Motorcycle zooming around.
The Goblin Clowns on uni-cycles tossing pies into peoples faces.
The Gnome diving off a high dive into a glass of water.
The sling-shot ride that breaks from time to time tossing players across the zone.
Assorted Carnival games? Get the ball in the bowl and win a fish pet.
Food Items that do something (Willy Wonka/Harry Potter) most of it’s not even new.
The list of ideas can go on and on, but what do we get, Crap we can already do ingame.
Oh, could the Ice rink be any smaller? Can we say Pointless?
Not only is this just a total $h*t Show, a slap in the face, total disrespect of players, especially those that have been loyal subscribers over the last 20 years, but it says a lot of the respect they have for their own product.
Everyone at Blizzard should be ashamed.
Not even gonna touch the BRD scaling and the total crap show class changes.
Imagine being a player that has been playing since launch and having to grind up tokens for gear I ALREADY HAVE, just slightly different… Yay…
I agree, not having fun at all
Are the anniversary tokens shareable across the warband?
They intended it to last 10 weeks:
For the Anniversary event, we want these epic new rewards to feel both special to players and well-earned. To that end, we have worked to create a rewarding system that should help players earn their first Tier 2 set in the first 2-3 weeks depending upon their play style. We know that there are a lot of people who are excited to earn more sets, if not all of them. To accommodate this, we have both discounts and increased abilities to earn currency that kick in after those early weeks (detailed further below).
I distinctly remember the 10 year anniversary because of how underwhelmed it kind of felt. The 10 year anniversary, the rewards were:
I’ll take “do my weekly busy work and some extra busy work for 3-4 weeks to get 4 sets that look amazing”.
You can use alts to participate in different weekly activities which award tokens once per warband, then transfer all the currency to one character.
You cannot use alts to do the same activity multiple times to earn more currency.
And if you skip any of the weekly activities, say all the PVP activities, you just miss out on some amount of the already weekly limited currency.
I spent about an hour there, did the world bosses, and then decided (other then the motorcycle mount maybe added later), it was not worth doing.
Out of every event in game, the anniversary should have been the one with the least amount of chore grinds and FOMO. Instead it is the absolute most. Sad.
If Blizzard had the balls to do a poll (1-10) of this event, they might average a soild 2.
At this point I have 14 or 15 coins total with the amount of time I have to play. Given I don’t do raids or Pugs, it’ll take me months to get enough coins for 2 pets at this rate, especially with the holidays and the like where I’ll not be playing at all, further reducing rewards.
Glad it’s as long as it is, if I’m lucky I’ll get two pets or maybe three and if they ease up coinage or I discover something that’s not a dungeon/raid giving rewards I might manage a mount.
Overall, it still doesn’t feel like a celebration.
Actually there is are a few videos about it, but the total I believe is 44 or 45 this week with the one time starter quests. I have 42 personally after doing basically everything.
I’m not going to lie and say it took me 20 minutes to get 42 tokens, but it also didn’t take that long either. If do a few things per day throughout the week, it should be manageable.
I mean, don’t get me wrong, I think not being able to get at least one T2 set the first week is incredibly stupid, but I also don’t harbor animosity toward Blizz either like they ruined my child hood (as some people are reacting).
At the end of the day, there’s plenty of time. The anniversary event will be active until the next major patch next year (I believe) and a few weeks of grinding tokens to unlock the big discounts and increased drop rates is no big deal.
Can confirm everything about this anniversary event sucks! Developers are so out of touch. I wish they would actually like play the game to understand what the gamers want instead we get overwhelming issues and game play that is 0 fun!
I just did my dailies and patiently did the Caverns of Time quests in 2 sittings… got my 38 Tokens. Next week, same thing and I would get my first T2. But I am not sure if I want to collect more T2’s. But by just doing my weeklies, I am getting tokens by default.
How about you play the game? Cant you do LFR BRD? Cant you do crashing World Bosses in Tanaris? Cant you do Timewalking? Cant you do Korrak’s Revenge? You dont need to do all the kills. Just throw stuff to your PvP opponents and let your groupmates do the kill.
Then go do your inherent weeklies from Dorn. You can queue Caverns of Time stuffs while doing your weeklies from Dorn. The reason you dont get Tokens is becoz you are not playing the game. You think Tokens should be handed to you mailbox for doing nothing? Entitlement.
ROFL. No Effort = No Reward.
