sorry, I didn’t mean to confuse you. I know words are hard for you
Don’t tell me what I’m supposed to do with my time, thanks.
I think you might be missing a point. It isn’t about people making a mistake by rolling on a highly populated server, although that is clearly part of what caused the problem. It is about the limited potential solutions. Maybe Blizzard should have been more aggressive about locking creation of new characters on heavily populated servers, but that horse has left the barn. Aside from Blizzard randomly choosing people and moving them to random other lower population servers, the only long term solution to the problem is for people to either transfer off or to simply reroll somewhere else. That’s really what it comes down to. Yeah it sucks, but the options are wait in queue, or transfer. Blizzard already did the “this is a temporary fix, repeat TEMPORARY FIX” thing and people just sighed and said “oh look, my queues are gone! Yay!” If the people most willing to leave transfer off, the population and the queues should ease up.
There’s no good answer. It’s just what flavor of crap do you prefer.
They opened up new servers. Many of which died off as popularity waned.
I believe they repeatedly warned that this would happen on that server specifically. They also offered free realm transfers a number of times.
I went from Herod to Stalaag with a guild, and then to Heartseeker on my own. In doing so, I lost the first choice name for my druid, but you know… not having a queue is worth it.
exactly. Like people keep claiming: do smth blizzard… and they kinda did. Either by warning that the realms are too crowded or by offering free transfers.
Neither solution was acknowledged by the playerbase and now there is kids in here claiming “well its their responsibility cryCrycry”. They offered you to help and you did not care. Now that you do need help you wanna blame em.
(And again, they do deserve blame, but they did try to give you a free way out too and you ignored it)
None of this is surprising. People build houses in the stupidest of places and refuse to move (next to moving sand dunes, too close to a body of water, in Florida…)
-You think queue do, but queue don’t.
Here in retail, Alliance get a 50,000% bonus to join a BG.
OP has said well what the cost of these needless queues are.
Queues are significantly worse than layers and already shown to be completely unnecessary.
This problem is entirely on Blizzard. Had there been an appropriate number of servers at launch, for all players to spread out, we wouldn’t be here. Now, players are being punished by Blizzard’s ineptitude, missing events, raids, etc. Even worse, LOSING MONEY by not being able to play their characters.
I know this is such a hard concept to grasp, but players will flock to where they feel the safest. Whether that be server longevity, larger recruitment pool, more friends, etc.
Again, had there been more than 8 servers at launch, we wouldn’t be here.
People keep saying “Blizzard warned you”. I remember Classic launching. I remember choosing Fairbanks and rolling my character ahead of time to reserve the names I wanted like they let you do. I don’t remember at any point during that time Blizzard saying “btw, we’re not going to make enough servers at launch causing overcrowding and offering free transfers later after we try out layering”.
The “warning” argument only makes sense to those who started months after launch and still chose those servers, unless what you’re really saying is anyone who wanted to actually play at the very beginning on the initial servers provided is an idiot and is “lying in the bed they made”. What bed? The bed of playing the game with what was provided at launch, when the game was available to first play?
The only foresight I had coming into Classic was the mistake I made taking launch week off for Diablo 3, so I didn’t do that this time around.
Then don’t play. Why give people money you don’t support lol. It’s like giving someone money who is a bully to you. Just stop playing. So many great games out there. I enjoy this game and I enjoy many other I’m playing. Time to give this game up.
Holy crap Valinia get off your high horse. I imagine you’re the type of person that goes to parties and debates everyone and everything in an attempt to prove their intellectual superiority over everyone else.
On second thought, I doubt you get invited to parties. Shut up already.
ITS THE FREAKING BOTS THAT ARE CAUSING THE QUEUES ON WHITEMANE NERD, THANKS FOR THE 500 WORD POST ON LIFE DECISIONS DAD.
Jesus Christ.
I do like that you called someone else “dad” as you spammed in all caps. Just like my dad does lol
I’m an old man, but I try to not give unwarranted and pointless life decision advice on a 15 year old video game remake forum while having zero applicable knowledge on the subject.
Now that they’ve fixed Lotus and exploits, hopefully our queues and bot-drama are next up… before August.
We can only hope that fixing blotus timing was a coincidence and not an attempt at distraction from the queue and bot issues!
It’s not just a question of layering. Whitemane didn’t have these queueu problems until other servers started dying and they opened up transfers to Whitemane. With that the population increased significantly. So the initial problem was created by Bliz themselves, not to mention all the botters.
Cry blizzard a river.
Post on your main if not forever hold your peace.
