I am leveling a rogue alt, so far spy has not impacted my plat at all. I primary a Hunter, and am in the process of leveling an S-priest.
Up next due to popular demand a warlock.
Actually you can, just depends on their level of stealth and their talent selection.
If they have not elected to go for improved stealth spy will often detect them before I do as a player.
If they have improved stealth talents ( sub / feral combat) then track hidden will does a better job.
If the player activates stealth where my combat log can detect then spy does a better job. If the player while ins stealth uses any action that can display on the combat log spy does a better job.
Track hidden should be the ONLY way a hunter can track and find stealthed targets… I should not be able to get an addon that improves that for me yes this one does improve my ability to target stealthed players in a very impressive way.
You may not notice as a druid because track humanoids does not improve your stealth detection, but for me it’s ridiculously powerful.
Again this is not even the truly game breaking part because while this is game breaking for you druids and rogues, the truly game breaking part is the arena frames…
This is something Blizzard specifically eliminated from the client so that we would not be able to have them… Oh but hey look, here’s spy with arena frames and an improvement to my ability to track players. Now I can select them before I can even actually see them and dot / mark em.

I am not a fan of the spy addon, but with cds (even in a combat pve spec) we can 100-0 almost every class whether they know we are there or not.
It kills the element of surprise, but just be patient and wait for them to stop spazing out and go back to what theybwere doing.
P.s. this addon has also prevented me from opening up on a player because i saw xxx goes into stealth.
I hope they break it.

I really don’t care about this addon, I don’t pvp, at all. I worry about that addons they would break trying to break this, that’s what’s important to me.
If one add on breaks the game for people, then who cares if it breaks other add ons. The game is broken.
Because the addons that it would break, possibly, are things that would make me quit.
No more damage meters, no more scrolling combat texts, etc., and it would carry over to TBC and Wrath when they do those most likely and ruin the entire experience for me
but you do not care if the spy add on causes other people to quit. See, this is the definition of selfish and not caring about the welfare of the game. Its just all about you.

You’re being pretty selfish yourself, very few people are complaining about this, it’s not some widespread thing.
Hell, it doesn’t even have that many downloads, far fewer people are even using it than you think
no, I am not being selfish. I am playing the pure game. You want a third party program to help you pvp. A crutch, a cheat. I want to remove it. People will still be able to play pvp if its removed. People will still be able to play the game, dungeons and raids. Just makes them use a bit of patience, tact, and thinking instead of letting add ons do everything for them. I think really this is what led to retail, is everyone wants to make the game easy as possible, instead of trying to play the game in hard mode. If there were no add ons people would not be rushing through end game content like butter. It would truly be hard, instead of retail peeps begging for new content after the rush to 60. This is the beginning of retail, right here. Lets not have it.

you are not paying attention. 1/3 or more players are using it. I am not worried about atlas loot. Can I ask you a question? Do you have the ability to play devils advocate? Or can you only see one side of the story?

If 10k people use it and it has 10 updates, thats 100k downloads
then it should be easily broken if not that many people cheat with it.
