This game feels way too chaotic for beginners

I agree, the Leveling experience from LvL 1 to LvL 90 can be really confusing especially if they are new to the game. After LvL 90+, it becomes linear and gets better though.

I found that YouTube is more helpful than google when it comes to questing. Did you know somebody has put the entire WOW quests on the youtube? Just type in the name of the quest and you will see the person doing the quest, start to finish. Also, for map exploration, you can type in the zone name, and the person will show.

Your most important experience with the game comes when you struggle upon trying to learn it.
If he couldn’t figure something and went asking for help immediately, he hasn’t been trying hard enough.
It’s not like any of us raiders or pvpers learnt the game from the get go, we had our noob stages and went collecting experience.
I did heroic(mythic) raiding for 3 years before I learnt about addons other than recount(ugh), guess who has many many addons now.

I have found YouTube to be the only help! I wonder why it’s not the first selection in the help on google searches ? It’s kinda weird to me cause wowhead does not answer the question you ask google yet wowhead comes up, and not YouTube which does answer it. It’s almost like blizzard pays google to omit that and force their wowhead merch selling to be the first result.

Um…the game is “windowed” already. They got rid of the full screen option a while back. Now I have to play a windowed full screen whether I want to or not. Besides, WoW quests aren’t so fast paced that you can’t take time to look something up if you need to. Or just play and figure it out as you go along. It’s really not hard.

Look, I know you’re trolling; I’m answering because some of the information people are putting in here might actually be useful to other players. But you’re really not fooling anyone with your playacting.

My brother tried to sit down and play, and even with “tutorials” is just completing confusing him lol. This game doesn’t seem very organized at all, you have so much random stuff going on. You can’t even tell what quests are important or side quests because they all have the same yellow exclamation point. There’s so many random things dropping too that he doesn’t know what to do with, and he got on my lvl 120 char and further didn’t know what honor badges were or even how to use them. I noticed that whenever you don’t know how to get something or where to go, you ask Google and the first unhelpful tab that comes up is Wowhead. Which, they never explain how to do the thing you typed in google how to do. It’s like just more advertising because they’re showing the same BFA video instead of a helpful video. It’s like nobody wants to be helpful just steal your time lol. Anyways, yeah, if there’s a way for him to do only campaign? I’d love to know how thanks

If you start a new toon you can go to the hero board either in Stormwind or Orgrimar and you can choose one of three zones to start question in. They’ll give you a quest that starts a chain. That’s a pretty good place to start. Once you complete that zone you should get a breadcrumb quest to take you to another zone.
