I can carry the other 2 DPS’ers as a DPS. They could die. I just need a Tank… sometimes I dont need a healer.
You see. I carry my group. And I can only carry what I can carry. So I make sure we dont have players doing M+6 Plaguefall who has only run M+2’s. I am being scanned to join M+. But I also scan them after they invited me. And I leave before we start if I see a disaster coming.
You are wrong. Have your tank put the boss on the wall and have the ranged run back ~60 yards from the boss. Orbs won’t spawn because the smash doesn’t hit you.
You can out range the thrash on the big golem mobs in halls as well. It only has ~30-35 range so if you stand at max range you don’t get hit by it.
You have to admit the new dungeons offer a huge number of ways for people to sabotage your key.
I knew about thrash, but on smash, u need to be near melee for the charge anyway. It seems like a huge loss in DPS to run 60 yards away. I’ve found it best to just go as far back as I can and stagger them.
Neither am I and I got KSM. Get better or form a group so you can “easily” get through the content.
Correction. I leave groups before we start. WHile we are flying to the dungeon, my second monitor is busy scanning their IO info and profiles. And there’s should be readycheck before the keyholder puts his key. I wont be ready until I am comfortable with the group.
I remember on SHrine of the Storm +15. I was invited with 2 other Warlocks. It’s like WTF… the dungeons needs tons of interrupts and the leader chose Classes that never interrupts. So I left right away just 5 seconds upon inviting me.
Charge and smash don’t overlap. There is plenty of time to do both. Especially as a warlock with gateway…none of your dps should be getting hit by smash.
Quit focusing on dps and focus on the mechanics and you will do better. Learn the mechanics then worry about your dps.
You can think it’s best but it’s really not. You can think whatever you want but it’s showing that your thinking isn’t optimal when it comes to mechanics. It makes me wonder what other mechanics in dungeons you are doing sub optimally.

lol I never said they overlap. I need to be near for charge. After that I can work my way back, but there is no way I am getting 60 yd away. I am not a hunter. I can’t do my full rotation while running. Most of my dps is from rapture, not dots. This sounds terrible. It probably works for hunters.
I’ve just seen people stagger them and that seems best. Range run as far as they can as smash starts and then people soak them carefully one at a time to avoid blowing everyone up.
Most of my dps is from Aimed shot which has a 2.2 second cast so what’s your next excuse? There is plenty of time to do the mechanic. Stop making excuses and just do it. Take gateway back and then use soulshape to get back. You have plenty of time. Watch your timers and anticipate. Start running a second or two before it goes off.
You can try that and it sucks. There is a better way. You are focusing too much on your dps and that’s why you fail. Mechanics > dps. When you have mechanics down then you worry about your dps. Until you get that through your head you aren’t gonna progress.

I get away fine, but I spawn an orb. And we usually deal with it. If some guy decides to soak them all at once, that’s his mistake.
This isn’t the MDI and we are nowhere near that skill level.
You’re being ridiculous. A hunter that turtles and then grabs all the orbs is clearly completely wrong about what he is doing. You can’t twist that around and argue we are wrong for having orbs. What a joke. Even at the MDI, people don’t do it (and ofc they don’t because it is a massive dps loss).
I do the mechanic of running away. Just not max ranging it.

Oof you deserve to fail dungeons if that’s how you approach people trying to help you do mechanics.
None of this is even really about gear. It’s just the pug experience is crap. That’s it. Rewards are relevant here, but it’s not the only thing. The new design of the game has made pugging an unbearable slog.
So you dont want to get people who can organize but want everyone to just know the mechanics? thats crazy.
Know what I did when I didn’t have a guild or people I ran with consistently? Every time I pugged and got a good person (1 maybe 2 every couple runs) I would ask if they wanted to join a community I had made. The premise is simple, you only add in people who you have had successful runs with into it, and when you need a role you just ask in that community first. Its not a guild. There is no leadership or commitments, just a place to go ask for a pug from a pool of people at least someone in the community had a good experience for.
Blizzard did make M+ hard and I dont love the tank kite meta, but as someone who has been pugging M+ as a warlock, its fine. Not every pug is going to be an all star group and youre making yourself upset.
