It’s not even a bug, it’s a new policy LOL. Your account must be new or haven’t been subscribed to wow at least 30 days since 2017. Ridiculous!

or supposedly sign out for 12 hours. Does that mean we over played lol?

It means this:
Hello,

Thank you for taking the time to reach out to us and we’re sorry that we couldn’t get back to you before now.

Sorry to hear that you’ve been having some difficulties using the Auction House, Trading with your friends, or sending mail. This error can occur for the following reasons:

  • The character is self found
  • The character is on a seasonal realm and has not yet consumed 30 days of game time since 2017

If your character is not self found and your account has consumed 30 days of game time, you should be able to work around this by logging out from wow for a minimum of 12 hours.

You can find more information on this here:
support.blizzard /article/000358296

Customer support does not have any tools which allow us to alter or change this restriction but we hope that this information does help you out.

Best regards,

Blizzard Entertainment

How convenient i get silenced letting people know about this

Hey all, and sorry for the confusion.

We currently have a restriction on new accounts playing Season of Discovery, [similar to the purchase of

Why you may not be able to trade or mail gold from your character, or use the auction house.

This means that if this is your first time adding game time on your WoW account (and if the game time was added recently), you will not be able to trade with other players, use the auction house or in-game mails.

Once this period of 30 days has ended, the restrictions will be lifted automatically. If you’re still seeing restrictions after that however, you will need to log out of your account for at least 12 hours.

Hope this clear things up.

Edit: Thank you to the players who reported seeing the restrictions after following the above instructions. This has been forwarded to our developers.

Blizzard broke their own rules by not announcing this beforehand and not giving us 30 days to cancel.

It is not a nice move to do to people, limited access should mean you pay less.

Botters be mad upset today.

Which makes sense because a discord screenshot was posted on Reddit showing how a popular bot got fixed today and is now workable on SoD. So they all paid for bots and were met with this.

It’s hilarious.

This makes a lot of sense. I just started playing and thought I was banned just for having an alt bank account on hardcore classic with my friends. Sucks…but it’s completely understandable to reduce bots. I just wish there was a 2ndary verification that hardcore players could go through because it’s immensely discouraging to micro-manage hardcore looting from my side.

Let me know when Asmon posts his more nuanced take on the matter, lambasting Blizzard for making their dying game even less accessible to new players.

Blizzard, bruh, I will send you a picture of my face with my driver’s license if it means you verify I’m a real player just wanting to play the damn game I already paid for.

It’s not really understandable. This should have been made clear to new players weeks before implimenting it. It affects many people besides botters. It’s kind of sad for people who purchased their subscription recently to play and were not told without a meaningful way for a refund. It’s also a hard pitch to get friends to return to the game after being away for a long time. They just flooded the ingame economy with hundreds millions of gold from bugged incursions and are grandstanding with this as if they care. It’s to be expected from a small indie developer though…
