Things that can actually *save* Classic WoW vs things people think can save it

They did server connecting to classic era so IDK why not with TBCC.

Yup, one of the biggest lies on this board.

this happens
5 servers for people to get in
4/5 are 90% horde
alliance masses on a single server while other 4 are horde servers

go to the forum and complain faction imbalance is killing the game

the cycle never ends

Merging the low pop realms into the bigger ones is the one true solution at this point. Names being an obstacle is really dumb, just add a hyphen.

What’s with the “raid logging” is a healthy way to enjoy the game crap? Imagine being a newcomer that is intrigued by TBC and there’s no one around to do anything. You only see them twice a week for a couple hours. You would leave immediately. There needs to be activities that are fun to do outside of raids or else the game dies. Not retail chores, but fun community activities. Raid logging is terrible and shouldn’t be encouraged.

so ? should I stay online 24/7 for the “newcomers”

No, but there should be incentives to want to log in and play. Even to make alts and play with new people. No one is asking anyone to play 24/7, but the other extreme is also bad. Right now, most non mega servers are dying and there’s no new blood to replace raid loggers that quit which means most guilds die.

those incentives are called CHORES and its the reason people jumped ship on the world of chorecraft that is retail

it is a VERY delicate balance tha more often than not
does not work

So the alternative is having everyone raid log until the game dies? There is a balance that Blizzard needs to figure out.

I can see now why Classic was a lot more fun than TBC. The world felt alive throughout the 6 phases even with wbuffs.

Not sure why people enjoy seeing the game die, because it suits them to raid log until it doesn’t, because there’s no one left to play with, but ok you guys win. Have fun with your dying game.

16 years and they havent
16 years of the game dying yet still going
what makes you think whey will do it now?

I’m not the best at math, but the total horde population is only 53% of players. This means there’s no way 4/5 realms could be 90% horde. In order for that, the total would need to be 72% horde, and that’s assuming the 5th realm has 0 horde on it. With the current ceiling of 53% horde, only 2/5 realms could be 90% horde. The others would be 28% if equally divided.

People regularly act like horde have a huge majority on this game but if you look at the total population, it’s actually very close to being even.

what is your messianic idea anyway?
provide repeatable content tied to player power and cosmetics, so the more you log in and play the more powerful and shiny you become?
sounds like Thorgast
and there isa reason we are playing NOT shadowlands

like a said those incentives are VERY delicate and can easy backfire into something people hate

heroic badges and rep was the way TBC gave daily content in between raids
but players now rush them complete what they need and then stop doing it

they got what they needed why do it again?

(made up numbers)
alliance server can be 10k
while the other mostly horde can be 2k each

problem is not the numbers
problem is everyone wants to be THE dominant faction on the server so people will flock where it can be done

Benediction has like 16k alliance , that is more than the entire pop of the bottom 20+ servers combined

I would add more incentives to be in the world. Maybe a requirement to go back to the old world for specific dropped items that are required for raiding. Or have heroics drop them if the open world is too difficult.

Example is Viscidus requiring stuff like LBRS poison sacs to make the fight easier on alliance.

Of course this can backfire, and not everyone will enjoy it, but with that mindset they should never do anything, because it might risk pissing off one person. That’s not how game design should work. There needs to be a design intent and it needs to be adhered to even though some people might not like.

At the end of the day, they can do things, and they choose not to. So this game will just limp into WoTLK classic with 2-3 working servers. It’s just sad it has to be this way.

If you don’t like imbalances, then get off your 75% majority alliance realm. You should not complain about horde dominating realms while you sit on one clearly owned by alliance.

“when did i say balance is an issue”
Now you’re just chasing your own tail, and I will waste no further time interfering.

when did i say balance is an issue
it is inevitable
just like small townsfolk moving to the city to get a better chance at success

Why does everyone who is against changes that are slightly LIKE retail… call it “You want retail go to retail” Such a low iq take lol. Retail pvp is garbage but has lots of QOL Improvements that help. I’d like a combination of TBC + QOL Retail has + MOP. Why do they have to scrap every system every new expansion? Why can’t they mix and match the best systems to create a mutt of wow from all expansions?

Yes, Classic did feel more alive in general. I remember being told the game was dead yet here I was in a leveling guild with 100 other people running dungeons and having fun.

I don’t understand attitude either. I don’t really care that people raid log. 80% of the people or something I play with raid log. However, I’ve said before I prefer a game with more activity and I want to play more than 6 hours a week so I do not just raid log personally.

Your comment about people liking seeing the game die is spot on. Some of these posters would be best described as trolls (they get offended when you call them that) because they just lack any empathy. It could be about servers dying or issues with running dungeons or whatever. They also tend to name-call brand new posters and stuff like that. They very much enjoy putting others down/bullying and this is their entertainment. I don’t get it. I’d rather make things better.

I’ve been playing TBCC the past month and have no issues running: Normal Dungeons, Group Quests, Heroic Dungeons, T4 Raids, T5 Raids.

If you can’t find groups, get to a populated server…it’s not dead at all.

People against the boost tend to think if it wasn’t there there would be many more people leveliing alts in Azeroth. I doubt that is true. I now have a druid leveling in Outlands but there is no way I would have leveled it in Azeroth. I’m playing more because of the boost not less.

$15 a month is wayyyyyy too much for playing classic and not playing retail. Blizz needs a $4.99 month option for those of us who do not play retail. Nobody is going to keep playing a dead game that costs $15 plus tax a month to play.
