No, this is like saying the FF devs were up front with the information with the players.
Had Blizzard done this, they wouldn’t tell us and we would have to wait until Blizzcon for the latest iteration of “red shirt guy” to ask where the other gender was before Blizzard would come clean.
I hate that to be honest. Catering to new players always being able to find content is tedious. MSQ being the best EXP source for the past 5 years has been more then painful enough. And doing 65 raids for 1 relic weapon with only 18 runs being in the most recent and the other one being legacy content does sucks. I did my relic and guess what, my tomestones weapon still better then all this work for less effort. Welfare relics weapon sucks and was not relèvent since Heavenward.
Victim mentality can be pretty entertaining, thanks. Shame someone has chained you to your desk and forced you to play what you consider to be an inferior game day after day, it must be a real burden…when another game you love so much is so close…
FF14 has the single worst, grindy, time wasting, player “slap in the face” main story quest of any MMO in history. If you can make it past that, the game is decent, but it’s no small task. It’s a damn good thing you can do everything on one character, because that MSQ is something I wouldn’t wish on an enemy.
So from my understanding, FF14 is simply make 1 character, play it through to the end…and that’s it?
Everybody can be everything…so everyone is the same? That’d be like an entire world of Druids. Doesn’t matter what they are because they can switch to what’s needed.
Sounds boring. Sounds like the burnout would kick in in a hurry. Not even really seeing any of the content from any other perspective.
One of the few things I would like if WoW took inspiration from FFXIV would be a similar Multi-class system. Instead of typing out my idea, I’ll just quote myself from a different thread.
Another thing I would like is a mount akin to what Midgardsormr is in Final Fantasy XIV. While Midgardsormr in other Final Fantasy games is a big giant snake, in FFXIV he’s the father of all Dragon kind. He sired all the broods we see on Hydealyn. The first time we interact with Midgardsormr is a boss fight, he’s kinda grumpy we’ve disturbed his rest. After the fight he approaches you in a more younger, smaller form. Notes that you (the player character) had obtained a gift from the very planet herself, and locks it away. Not out of ill-will, but he wanted to see if you could persevere to point where you’d unlock the gift again. And he travels with you, witnesses your desire to end the war between man and Dragon. Helps you to learn the truth behind the Dragonsong war. And after you’ve unlocked your gift from the planet, he decides to lend you his aide by letting you take to the sky with him. I haven’t progressed beyond Heavensward, but I do believe there’s more lore to be had with Midgardsormr in the other expansions.
I would love an epic storyline between mount and player character. But so far, the closest thing we’ve got to that in WoW is mounts like Kua’fon, the Bee mount and other similar mounts.
