They/them pronouns

I don’t think it really matters, I’ll pick what I pick and everyone else can pick what they pick and the world goes around. It’s not going to ruin immersion any more than Shadowlands did. It will 100% not affect me as a cis female what someone else in this game identifies as in RL or on Azeroth. If WoW is going to make this change then great, let them do a little something for some of their player base. Can I still do all the things I do in WoW? Yes! Wonderful.

but i want

No…it hasnt.

He refers to a male, she refers to a female. They is a word used to address a group of people other than the people directly involved in the conversation. Until recently, it has NEVER been used as a pronoun or included in gender identity in any way.

I am hoping Riot leaves all this real-world mess out of their game and just does game.

How should they be punished?

False. Example: “Who made this mess?” — “I don’t know, but THEY sure messed it up good!”

“They” indicates a person of unknown gender.

All that said…I also disagree with OP.

Absolutely an agenda.

nah, that’s just appealing for more ridiculousness.

You are further proving my point, “They” has never been used to assign gender. It is infact used when gender isn’t known.

I’m refuting your point that “they” is exclusively plural.

I know and care little about identity politics, but I’ll smite thee six ways from Sunday in a grammar battle.

They can be used both singularly, and plural. I simply used the word in an example that was plural. Your refuting that, and what I just said here makes your refuting it completely pointless, not that it had a huge point to begin with but -0-

a) false
b) too many commas
c) you’re*

Goodbye, you are simply too annoying not to ignore.

jesus… cant people just play a game with out pulling in their choice of gender or what ever. Its a game forget about the real world and move on.

I’m sorry but a game shouldn’t conform to peoples’ personal identity crisis. Or any crisis at that. It should stick to actually providing good content.

I’m also going to bet that the OP, a topless female blood elf in a guild called “Slug Eggs,” is trolling out of boredom.

I’m a male. Been that way for 75 years. If I’m standing alone and two people are talking about me from a distance, speaking plain English, those two people should be saying he did it. Who did it? Him! He’s the one. They and them does not apply!

Who came up with ‘they’ or ‘them’ to referee to a single person? Same one that came up with “Flat Earth”

I need to see proof of this “they and them” as singular, going on now for centuries.

How bout we call everyone “it”

No wonder DPS in my groups tend to like me, I humanize them by using their names  Where do I get off?!

No joke, I like They / Them pronouns, because at virtually every job I’ve had where I had to use someone’s name, but I didn’t know if they were a male or female (Ash, Gabe, Li, Lee, Jaden, Tony, and a ton of others), I use they / them, so as not to insult someone accidentally.

Then again, I care whether or not I’m being insulting (not targeting you here, Moritz). As “lovely” of a “community” WoW possesses, it just isn’t an issue for many its players, especially when there’s loot to discuss / hunt.
