Did a bit of PTR testing. Keep in mind values are actual speed and not speed increase, as while dragonriding mounts say “830%” that is the increased speed; the actual max speed adds the base 100%.
10.2 level glide: 930%
10.2 max after 3 Surge Forwards: ~1340%
10.2.5 level glide: 858%
10.2.5 max after 3 Surge Forwards: ~1082%
From personal experience, I can say that gliding and Skyward Ascent feel “normal” in the old world. However, Surge Forward needs some tuning as it definitely doesn’t feel like I’m gaining speed in the same manner as on the Isles. Even though the math is technically correct, I think the relative speed increase on use should feel the same and right now it doesn’t.
What I think is funny is people trying to argue that they’re “right” about something that’s completely subjective and people’s word choice. What’s better for me might not be for you, but for you to try and say that one is inarguably better than the other just because you wanna be right about something is toddler behavior.
Yes and how you said it’s not fun. That may be true for you but you definitely don’t speak for everyone.
There is a key biding in the WoW interface that lets your character walk and why would anyone want to use this while flying? You haven’t answered that question yet.
Ok, I don’t do this because the few times I’ve hit NumLock and did something like open a webpage I’ve either flown over what I wanted or I’m dying to fatigue over the ocean.
But still, I would rather cruise control than tell my dragon, that’s been alive for hundreds or thousands of years before my character was born, to flap its wings up and down or it’ll fall out of the sky because as soon as it became a mount, it forgot how to function.
You’re trying to do a poor troll attempt just because the other person didn’t say auto run? Lame. Good luck by moving while staying in the same place, I guess.
My first reply was to you saying static flying isn’t fun, like you’re the authority on it.
And the rest of my reply is nonsense only because you know I’m right. We shouldn’t have to tell a dragon to flap it’s wings because if we don’t it will fall out of the sky.
Just because someone says something you don’t like, doesn’t mean that person is trolling.
And both of you were the ones trying to prove some point by saying “auto walk.” You can walk and run in this game, those are actual key bindings under your settings. Don’t get pissy with me because you can’t say what you mean. That’s a you problem.
I think its funny so many people argue about this when the “better” choice is clearly relative to who is doing the flying and the reason they are flying. Long distance travel? Farming herb nodes? Picking off quest mobs? It’s completely situational. But people really like their black and white thinking.
