They're nerfing Dynamic Flight Speed in Old World content

I don’t understand why.

Good, I hope its as low as old school and then we can actually find out if Dynamic flying is actually “better” or just…faster.

There is a search function on these forums.
It has already been explained, both by using simple logic, by comparing continent/zone sizes, understanding code … or ya’ know, reading:

Agree or disagree with it, but there’s technical and just frankly logical problems with introducing full speed dragon flying into such small zones.

It is better and faster. It ain’t an “either-or” case.

Even 80% is still extremely fast compared to anything we have in the old world. It’s fine.

Incorrect and the only way to actually tell is by making them the same speed.

Well… it does help to read…

If you play a dracthyr and use soar out in the old world, it’s already slowed down to 80% speed and you can barely notice.

I’m not really bothered by this.

How can you nerf that which does not exist? Zero multiplied by any number is zero.

The feeling of speed is still going to be there because that is in part aided by your perception of the terrain passing by you. The zones are smaller so it’s going to feel like you’re traversing them pretty fast.

Actually slowing it down is NOT the only solution. If your hypothesis is that the speed differential is the only reason people like it you could test speeding up traditional flying instead.

But I think you’re the only person on planet earth that actually thinks speed is the only reason people like it more, especially staring in the face of people saying “that’s not the only thing I like about it.”

Why are you telling me to speed up old school when this is about how DF is being slowed down?!?

As for your ending, you are a joke trying to say that after the 100s of threads over the year about Old School and the literal 1000s of mentions about speed from DF lovers as why its so great and their nonsense about who would ever want slow old school again.

Even in the face of a major movement over the last 3 months to remove the rep requirement to get it back. I wager you were one of the trolls in those threads saying the same thing.

80% of max dragon riding speed is still something akin to twice maximum static flight speed. I think we will be fine.

It’s a mixture, it’s fun because of the speeds you can reach.

If you press a rocket boost button, then you look down to see a ground mount running along side of you, you wouldn’t find that rocket boost button much fun.

i see no problems with this

stop complaining

Faster isnt better, its just faster.

If it was better, it would be better with the same speed.

Fun detected

Should inform all the racing sports that faster isn’t better.

Of course faster adds to the fun… I can’t see how anyone would think going slow is just as fun as going fast.

Gamers also notoriously always pick the easiest path, no matter how fun it is.

If both mounts were the same speed 99% of us would just static fly because it’s easier, it just so happens that DR flight is the easier way and it’s fun.
