They know Twink wasn't a term of endearment right?

Yes that is exactly when the fallacy of ad hominem is used, when someone doesn’t understand the argument being made or if they have no argument to return.

In that case people try to discredit the argument by attacking the person who made it rather than attacking the argument itself.

you sure about that?:

hmm interesting topic

Implying there is a rational argument being made.

Also I don’t know what angle you are going for. Are you trying to defend this post? You didn’t even comment on the post or op. You began breaking down what we are saying without giving an opinion yourself.

So based on your own posts, you are contributing to the fallacy of ad hominem.

This isnt even close to a complete sentence or coherent thought, let alone well written.:rofl::joy:

The only person saying to attack the argument instead, who isn’t even trying to defend me or my post but defend discussion, and you’re pretending they don’t have a point that a lot of ad hom is being thrown around. Sick

It’s almost like there’s a majority in the reply’s doing the same thing to anything they disagree with.

Hold on, if it’s not a term of endearment, then why does my boyfriend blush and get all shy when I call him one?

What the hell are you even saying?

Ok re reading it combined with what your saying, I agree. I am starting to think they are just trying to get a rise out of people

While I don’t appreciate the comments, I do appreciate that you took the time to take your own meaning from what I said.

Not just “gayness” but tons of other qualities or running themes about the community which may or may not be true about them based on insubstantial data. Countless other references to pop culture in the past have been included in WoW but what about the future?

Media is exponentially growing and the types of media are going to expand making it even harder to pick solid themes for a userbase.
It would only make sense that they try to make data collection easier right?

Speaking on data collection, as much as I hate to say it there was a lot of people who left mid way through shadowland and the announcement of dragonflight. (who weren’t apart of any content wall waiting for dlc)
If i could post a link i would be more than happy to link to the graph, but that’s another rabbit hole of trying to find impartial metrics or metrics that haven’t been removed by WoW to obfuscate data.

This is some timecube-level nonsense. OP needs to delete everything and try again.

How original

There isn’t an argument being made though lol.

You mentioned twink being used incorrectly (which you are wrong).
You then mentioned similarities between blizz content and destiny content, how that is related to the title? Idk.

You tangented off your own topic so hard, myself and many others have no idea what you are talking about or even trying to get at.

So excuse me if I point out their fallacy in attempting to correct us, while doing the same thing they are accusing us of when they’ve completely ignored your post completely.

Bro. Stop lol. The term was used 20 years ago. The definition and use of words change over time. The term is used the same today, for its definition 20 years ago, for what a WoW twink character is.

The word used outside of WoW? Different definition. Go watch the South Park episode about the motorcycle riders. It’ll explain the concept faster than I likely could.

When was the last time that was actually used irl? It was a thing in the 70s.

Your southpark episode is actually a great example of what was used more recently, but even then, the past 20 years. It didn’t even hold that meaning lol.
How they use it in the episode is how a lot have used it since what? The late 90’s, early 2000s?

Depends where you live. In my state, the word is frowned upon use by my generation and younger, but it’s still used by bigots and those that are very steep into their Abrahamic religions, to refer to a homosexual person.

The episode itself is more to explain my point, though, rather than the word itself. Specially the scene where the bike rides are in the library.

That’s where you’re wrong, there is an argument to be made, and running the risk of repeating myself to an army of people who probably don’t even take the time to read quests that the staff spend hours to write, I don’t feel the need to clarify myself to people who deal exclusively in insults.

I’ll make an exception for you since clearly it bothers you so much to end on a confusing conclusion.

I mentioned twink being used inappropriately, which was very common for both that word and a slew of others being used at the time that are used much differently today and exclusively by specific groups in a non offensive way. If you fill a game full of young adults who haven’t developed a sense of the world yet, they’re going to put the wildest things into definition for the entire group via popularity. (rizz is an extremely stupid word) It was an insult turned definition out of pure innocence and was then reclaimed or continued to be used as a definition. If this confuses you imagine having any responsibility at blizzard trying to make heads or tails of it without having prior experience in WoW.

The reason why I mentioned the similarities between destiny and blizzard is because activision blizzard owned both for the time period where these themes overlap, hinting at a lack of designs catered for a mass audience. Just around the same time as AI peaked the tech industries curiosity, it would suggest but not prove for any fact previously mentioned that the shift in thematic representation had changed.

If you would like any other clarification on any other subject matter i would suggest trying to make your own conclusion and question anything from your own train of thought that would suggest confusion.

Having other people do the thinking for you, is a slippery slope.

I know it’s 6 am. But this is like me back in graduate school and the professor asks me to translate Finnegan’s Wake.
