Try even TW heroics (they’re legion heroic rn I believe) with the legendary cloak from bfa, the heart of azerite with essences, and well in the past you could do tier sets too but let’s say with nzoth raid trinkets. You will do ridiculously more damage than the next best anything lol.
For the mage tower I’d assume this takes the form of specific food, conduits like you said, specific pots which work better, etc. Legendaries I believe are inactivated in mage tower.
But you can’t even take advantage of timewalking’s number 1 feature. Legendaries turned off. HOA turned off. Azerite turned off. All of which is active in normal timewalking.
It’s the same concept as twinking. People enjoy what they enjoy

I think gear needs to be 50 or above to scale for the MT, I bought a piece with sockets that was ilvl 46 and it didn’t scale up. So you would need the timewalking gear from raids that had sockets, I think that’s what people did
Only being available for 2 weeks a year is a legitimate complaint, but the difficulty isn’t nearly as bad as I thought it would be after reading the forums yesterday. There are plenty of guides with people in SL gear doing this stuff. Depending on your class/spec, you may want to play with secondary stats and talents a bit, but if you put the time into it, you’ll clear it.
me too T_T on my mage. Exact same issue. All my juicy nzoth trinkets and bfa trinkets too

No OP, they gave us the challenging solo content we’ve been requesting and then time restricted it to only become available 3 times a year.
Might as well add that they gave it to us an entire month after the actual patch released… because they tied it to a time restricted event that is only available 3 times a year :^)

Yay lets put fun on a calendar and a schedule! when people also has another things to do and maybe you won´t be available to do the mage tower when it came back…
it can be difficult but only for a limited time 
But get this, 220 unchained glad shackle does 8.8k shadow damage, cyclotronic blast on the mechagon computational device trink (lvl 79) does 7.2k fire damage. ok? When you enter MT, the glad trink does like 900 damage, while the mechagon one does 4.7k LOL and with RoP it does 6.4k

Actually…does the bfa gear work. I forget what it was called. The gear that has stuff on it, the azerite gear. Traits? Blaster master would be pretty tight if it does.

nope, i tried… and it doesn’t have stats, so it’s useless
but the Orb of Voidsight heirloom gives 3 stats (27 each) and 10% damage to demons when it procs, but procs were RNG so I used a trink that had leech on it (for the Agatha fight, cuz they are all demons)
Because the game environment is bad.
If the environemt is bad, and the mechanics people constantly interact with are bad (which is Shadowlands in a nutshell), then the people aiming to remain within that environment (for any number of reasons) will continue to be upset.
Now couple this with the whole idea that Blizzard tosses a monkey paw into everything, and you have more of that feeling becoming worse. People view the MT in this way. It’s like having some kind of wound, and then applying salt.
This whole forum basically has that open wound, and the mage tower is the salt due to the implementation, and further, the manner in which it’s being handled. Not to mention the community likes to misfire at itself all the time.
Some people are. What you are expecting is 100% of the player base to be satisfied and that will never happen.
There are plenty that are ‘happy’ about something. But just 'cause they bring back something, and it’s poorly tuned, should people just be like Clark and ‘‘be happy that you even got it’’ attitude.
