Lonewolf is mandatory only if your chasing top DPS, otherwise, its optional. Its considered Sub-optimal to play without lone wolf, but casuals don’t care about chasing DPS meters. Plus, having the lone wolf talent doesn’t’ actually stop you from pulling your pet out AFAIK, you just take a damage loss if you do so.

The talent does not stop a player from summoning a pet, you are correct.
So instead of using a scalpel to remove lust option from pets and giving hunters a class wide lust/hero button or removing entirely from hunters , Blizz decided to go the nuclear route…
I swear it is always one extreme or the other . Never a happy medium that would make all parties happy . I am really starting to think they do this stuff just so they can sit back with their popcorn and Monster Energy and watch the crap show they create.

Damage with a pet must be lower than damage without a pet otherwise the competitive scene will feel forced into pets.
They can feel any type of way that they want. If utilizing a pet well is indeed effort, that effort should be rewarded, right?

They already had the solution with grimoire of sacrifice from warlocks, but why do that when you can create a “new fantasy for the spec” that nobody asked for

I asked for this and so have others so maybe don’t speak for everyone? 2 other specs to play that have pets as a focus just because you refuse to play them doesn’t mean they dont exist. All you ever do is conplain in every thread about everything like do you even enjoy the game?

Hunters should never have had lust anyways. That is what shamans and mages are for. Any serious raid team missing a shaman or mage is not really that serious and the raid leader is foolish.

So hunters should have less meaningful utility just so you can live out your pet fantasy? Odd take… lust is the main reason we get a spot in mythic plus. Any serious raid is bringing a hunter too fyi
One thing isnt attached to the other, he arguing all classes other than two should lose lust, and honestly personally, i think only shamans should have it.
But all and all, people can have all the utility and still have the option for the pet just fine.
Its not that simple. To get the utility you have to summon the pet use the ability and then dismiss your pet. That doesn’t work in endgame content where every global matters. The game is designed around group content and the devs are trying to better the functionality of all specs within that content. These changes do just that for mm

Thats the gist of it, you put the ability into the hunter, then this issue will be solved.
Almost, like we have a similar ability in another class, where the player can “sacrifice” their pet, to gain its abilities, i forgot the name like blizzard did, it start with Grimoire of something, but i cant recall…
