You dont know the playerbase very well. If they nerfed Prot Pallies people would still call for buffs for their class/spec. It wouldnt stop anything.
“Now that Prot Pallies have been nerfed can you look at buffing x”.

Be realistic though, people would be less inclined to ask for them given Pallies had both been buffed AND nerfed.
Reality has never really mattered to people who chase meta.
We have 4 incredibly viable tank classes right now, but all people see is that some streamer somewhere said paladins are “BiS”, so now that’s what we get.
No, they wouldnt. They would look at it as further evidence that Blizzard is ok at making more changes balancewise to the game.
Of course they would, a buff and a nerf cancel out which makes everything right in the world again.
“Omg pallies got a buff I want a buff!”
“Dude we got nerfed too shut up.”
Simple.
No, it wouldnt.
I’ll let others decide the integrity of your debate technique.
There is nothing left to say. Even your scenario suggests people would be asking for buffs still and to use the argument “dude we got nerfed too”.
People would not stop asking for buffs just because prot is nerfed.
I have tanked all of the hard modes except for Algalon with no issues, as a frost tank. Death Knights are fine.
I dont understand why people complain about class balance in classic wow when all knew about how classes would be long before blizzard released it ?
Why would you say something so controversial yet so brave?
I mean I researched it a little bit and up until the day of the expansion coming out I couldn’t find anywhere on the internet exactly what patch we would be on while I was doing the math for swordguard embroidery. If I had been playing TBC and keeping up on blue posts like the majority of the community I’m sure I would have known what was happening, but it isn’t like everyone knew exactly what patch classic WOTLK would be on and what that meant for the class they chose to play.
Never habe been a slave to the Meta.
People told me i should stop playing my non meta Heros during my stint in Mobas.
I played my non meta Heros, became Grandmaster.
Still would love to see buffs for Warriors/Ferals/DKs that implement AD like ability, wow is far too much a game of Math, and not a game of Skill when it comes to PVE.
And while you can do everything with pretty much every comp, having the mathematically superior route is handing out a lot of extra boons, and potential to fail, which is kinda nice to have in a team coordination game.
See this is the crux of the problem: I don’t play Prot pally. Or Holy for that matter.
And I doubt all prot pallies play Ret/Holy, or that Holy pallies play Prot/Ret.
You guys are really keen on anchoring us to play styles/roles that have nothing to do with us. But this isn’t Classic Vanilla anymore, and it’s not TBC either.
This is Wrath, and Blizzard has decided that everyone gets a viable DPS spec, no matter what class they are. A 10% damage buff to keep Ret in line with Fury really shouldn’t be cause to nerf Prot paladins who had nothing to do with the buff whatsoever. THAT is what makes no logical sense.
What makes more sense to me is that since you hold Rets responsible for Prot warriors plight, and that you want Prot paladins nerfed instead of helping warriors, you actually hate both Ret and Prot.
What, you want us to go back to the old days where we wore a dress and warriors were on top? Vanilla Era is still open.
Kelliste is right, Bladestar. Your attempts to say otherwise are wishful thinking, denial.
This is bs lol every class works out if played well, problem is most casual tanks cant play harder class like dk and warrior, too complicated for their noob fingers.
The Denial is strong with you, my friend.
You literally can be the best player in the world, it does not change the fact that one Tankspec is above the others.
This has nothing to do with skill, its all about the availability of abilitys / talents / mechanics.
I would agree, as i did many times before, that in most cases the difference is unrecognizable - since the fights are not tight enough for the differences to matter at all.
And even the hardest fight, when it comes down to it CAN be played succesfully with way more compositions and tank setups then what the meta dictates, that is also true.
But if push comes to shove, the Protpally stands tall, while the others fall.
No matter how well the others play, they simply can not provide the same amount of abilitys, and they cant die.
And having MORE is BETTER in wow - since outside a small circle of elitist players, having minor fails is the norm, and thus having more tools to adjust for handling those minor fails leads to a superior result.
I can not even count the number of times my Ardent Defender procced in Ulduar during encounters where it should not even remotely be a thing for me to die if not for healers sleeping, or generally people doing their jobs.
Last monday i procced during Mimi HM, because our DK tank failed in doing his one job, kiting the assault bots, and i aggroed one while triggering bombs and tanking the junkers by random aoe/cleave dmg i dealt.
Assault bot went ham in my face.
It was not a big deal, i just procced, fight went on without any problems.
Another funny example is XT 25.
I doubt any other tankspec can solotank XT and Lightsparks even remotely as easy as paladin can, no matter how skilled they are, since they do not have 2 taunts at low cooldown + easy ranged aggro without global cooldown.
These are just things that are intrinsic to the spec and its mechanic, and have nothing to do with playing well.
Its the same how i would never claim that i can generate the most ST thread out of all tankspecs as a protpally, because i simply can not do that, no matter what i do.
Lol. Nice troll post. We are finding out palidans are the worst tanks. Yeah they have AD. Because they need it and it gets popped 30 seconds into every encounter. But someone said palidans have AD so theirr the best and the sheep follow as expected. Some of this stuff you know bkizz laughs about.
This is wrong. Bears were chad MTs by T5 onward specially once BT geared. Their ST threat was just too good. Prot paladins were great as well but not optimal as an MT. Druids just did it better excluding a couple fights. Same thing now tbh DKs and warriors can do it but paladins are just better.
most people used paladin MTs for everything because ferals did more damage offtanking than the paladin did.
I didn’t say feral wasn’t a good MT
