People playing how they want to play is fine, breaking all of the rest of the progression because people don’t understand those systems (and don’t want to understand them) is the issue.
If you want to progress through dungeons alone, you can’t.
Ironically, you’re saying “don’t remove the bottom tier” but the issue is that it’s bottom tier content for mid-high tier rewards, where the true bottom tier (normal dungeons) HAS been dismantled and DOES NOT provide a complete progression path to heroic dungeons.
just another typical forum poster. they think that delves are over rewarding, yet they only give 4x champion items per week, 9 times out of 10 got versa on it and 9 times out of 10 yet again you dont need cause it gave it to you last week. and 1 heroic slot in the vault. yet they say its over rewarding. and on top of all that pugs can go in and 1 shot clear normal raid which also drops champion gear.
just another troll. best to ignore people like that and their comments because they hold absolutely no substance at all!
the community splintering was due to a playerbase shift. those activities were added to keep people who had no interest in treating wow like a 2nd full time job just to raid.
Delves are like the 10th system added to the game for this “casual / solo interested” audience, none of the others really worked and underwent massive changes as after the “new feature smell” wore off the players remaining were those who were interested in the longtail progression, and the systems frankly punished them.
These forums were clogged with the same concern trolling for torghast forced progression in SL, expeditions / heart rng in BFA, artifact grind in legion, garrison in WOD, farming/timeless in panda, LFR cata.
where you had one “audience” proclaiming it’s not FOR you, it’s so great and fun, and the others saying, exactly so why is it interrupting the thing that IS for me and hey, where’d you go? i thought this new amazing solo progression was infinitely rewarding?
What are you talking about? I was replying to the person trying to knock delves saying it’s no effort for free gear, I’m saying who cares if the gear is free there’s no need to change that for the people who like them because if you WANT to be geared to the teeth you still can be by avoiding delves. So the players who don’t care about BIS can have good item levels from delves, and the players who do can just heroic raid and mythic plus, therefore everybody wins
You can’t be this dense. Follower dungeons have ZERO affect on regular dungeons. The gear level is a non-issue. There are still queues for regs, and people will still prefer their own level of challenge. Follower Dungeons aren’t even the equivalent of LFR in the scheme of things. The only thing that pisses people off about Follower Dungeons is how tanks like myself can now go see the content without the abuse of the DPS and Healers.
As for either of our opinions, neither matters. They are popular, and a successful run with Blizz. So my guess is, they are going nowhere. If you were honest with yourself, you’d agree. Instead, feel free to keep fighting about it. Now, if you will excuse me, I have some follower dungeons to run in DF to level another character.
They aren’t talking about Follower dungeons. They’re talking about going from Normal to Heroic, while ignoring the fact that you can easily get to 567 just by buying Renown gear and doing a couple of weeklies. Get a spark neck made, pick up a Darkmoon trinket for cheap… dun.
I leveled a character fully from 70-80 through Timewalking last week and in less than an hour had him at 567.
I spend most of my time now in either a delve or follower dungeon (haven’t tried story raid, but probably will). They are just fun.
I’ve run plenty of M+ in previous seasons, but little interest in dealing with the people right now.
But even more so than the people is the “timer” function of dungeons or raids with other people. I don’t mean the actual timer, but the “I have to be sure nothing comes up in the next 20 minutes” timer (or next hour for raids) of being a good person to team with. In delve or follower dungeon, when something comes up I can just quit the game, or leave it where it is and go take care of something and come back to it. In M+ or raid stepping away for any amount of time is not cool.
I really like the idea of adding our own alts as followers. But, barring that, I feel like Blizzard could also do something like they did with the mission tables in previous expansions. They could create a UI that allowed you to customize your party with followers discovered and collected out in the world, earned through achievements, etc.
I feel like follower dungeons could also be sort of merged into the delve system, for people who wanted more of a challenge than follower dungeons currently offer. I’m imagining a system where you collect various heroes to party up with, level them, set roles, and go through scaling versions of the existing/follower dungeons on the level of delve difficulties, so you would have more challenging single-player “party” content. No sane way to micromanage a party of 5 though, so I’m sure it would take iterating.
I first read delves would be forgotten when M+ launched. Then it was give it a few weeks, players will get bored. Now it’s we’re so important our tantrums about gear from delves will lessen them in S2.
Unless Blizzard wants a flood of lost subs, I doubt S2 is going to nerf Delve rewards. The genie is out of the bottle, like it was when they released M+ or when they tried to get rid of flying.
To be fair they also made M+ harder, and reduced the loot drops from it since its been out, and the very fact we are having the issue of lower level M+ being kinda abandoned by most is proof you can put it back in the bottle.
They really cannot lower the rewards. The rewards progression in delves is there to help players progress into the delves itself. If they lower the reward such that players are forced to do mythics etc to progress in delves then it defeats the original purpose of the delves. Delves are supposed to be a self contained game mode like mythics where a player who just does delves exclusively can get stronger and go higher. Even now actually, doing mythic makes it easier to do delves past t8 so to say the rewards are too high is actually not true.
“Mythic was to good and killed raid you cant put the genie back in the bottle everyone is doing M+”
“Delves came out and now everyone is doing them and not M+”
“The genie is not back in the bottle”
