You know the world record speed guilds are using prot warriors right?
Yes I do. Thus why I said we are “somewhat” viable in phase one as tanks - there’s a niche as a damage dealing Tank. That won’t hold into the next phase. We aren’t a preferred Tank now though except if speed clearing - that’s literally the only use case. And that’s simply because the content is so easy. I mean we have a niche as 5 man Tanks too - wohoo.
Lets take a step back though - I’m not after buffs. Casual guilds (of which there are plenty) will still take us.
Nor are sub rogues. Spoiled paladins are used to having everything. I hear in 2 days Ret Paladins will be AWESOME for endgame content again. Go play one.
Rogues have two other very viable dps specs… If you don’t understand that I don’t know what to tell you.
You’re right, every class is viable and can dps just fine if you know how to play. The issue with today’s gaming environment is that people dont want to play with specs that are at the bottom of the meters for meta reasons.
I’ve noticed this as well. All specs are performing well beyond what is intended for this expansion yet you have players that won’t play without min maxing a character like they are pushing a world first.

Hey this thread is cringe.
Enjoy the bottom of the meters, nerds.
You won’t be lonely anymore.
Lmaaao tru I need some company
I think the real fix to the situation is just nerf DK pet snapshotting. Yall keep comparing 15k DK DPS to Ret but no other class or spec comes close to 15k either.
In regards to Paladins, I think the reality is that too many people rolled ret because of the youtubers. I remember recruiting for my raid team during prepatch and it was 5 paladin whispers for every 1 of another class.
My raid team will always have room for a Ret. 1 Holy 1 Prot 1 Ret is ideal for a typical raid comp. 3 Paladin buffs, refreshed judgements, etc. For most guilds there is no issue finding a raid team as a Ret other than that the spec and class is oversaturated, which there is nothing Blizz can do about that.
It is true that Paladin DPS is quite low right now and won’t get better till ICC, but frankly Warrior is in the same situation. If Ret gets buffed, Warrior should also get buffed. But, both Ret and Arms Warrior are already S tier pvp specs. And if you did buff them now, you’d have to nerf them in p5 or it’ll be grotesque.
If they do any PvE changes without considering the outside consequences, they are going to absolutely destroy pvp and make this more of a plate xpac than they already have.
Half of all classic paladins could quit tomorrow, and it still wouldn’t be the least played class this xpac. The guy complaining about not being able to zerg 3DOS with a raid full of paladins is hilarious.
Paladins have two very viable other specs. If you don’t understand that I don’t know what to tell you.
Read the whole comment next time.
Those other two specs aren’t DPS specs. Don’t comment if you don’t understand.
Yes, but those Rets either had to be the top of the top Ret paladins… (Not even 100 Rets in the US hit the DPS check for the zerg).
Or they were carried. And you can’t honestly say that a carry level dps is a viable dps, can you?
Here he goes again using the 3D zerg strat as the measuring stick.
Each class has 3 specs. Should Paladins get extra special treatment because each is a different role?
It’s called a trade off. Don’t play a pure? Risk having a suboptimal DPS spec, considering every pure has a “dud” spec in PvE. Hybrids shouldn’t?
Are you proud of yourself Paladin? It also has the three other pures down at the bottom, Paladin. The point stands, Paladin. There is a trade off, Paladin. Spoonfed Paladins can’t stand not being spoonfed Paladins, Paladin.
Are you upset that I corrected you?
