Originally the auto-teleport was implemented because it was designed around matching players from different servers. If you’re on a different server then there’s no way (at the time) to utilize the summoning stones even if you’ve already been grouped up. What was - at the time - an attempt to shore up the inherent inferiority of automated matchmaking is now considered clearly superior and been blamed for the fall of western civilization.
If the only way to bring automated matchmaking (RDF) back to WoW in classic Wrath is to insure that it does not outshine manual group formation in any way, then fine. Force me to walk to the dungeon.
But as long as I’m making these concessions I’d like someone to explain the brilliant design work that has players spending most of their leveling time from 30-45 in Stranglethorn Vale while all of the appropriate dungeons for those level brackets are thousands of miles away.
However when they say “we have no plans to implement RDF”, you think that means they’re definitely gonna implement it? Lol
I agree summoning stones should be removed, but at least there’s some RDG element where another player is summoning you, rather than a UI teleporting you.
Take away summoning stones. Warlocks have the ability to summon, and it makes sense given their class identity. I’ve seen no explanation for why summoning stones exist or how they’re supposed to work.
Wow. You mean like them repeating for the umpteenth time that they’re not gonna implement RDF?
