I absolutely agree, i just dont think the current heads of WOW want us flying. It makes things too fast, and they dont want that.
Thatâs mostly due to the design decisions they make: Do as little as possible while making as much money as possible.
Old zones while they had empty zones, were designed like that to allow for exploration instead of being bombarded with multiple things for moving for a few seconds and some of them even had content designed for flying.
Which is why zones have become smaller and smaller and they have retained the same density to give you a feeling of âdoing a lotâ.
Yup. Lazy developing. Look at LK and outlands, heck even Cata. Zones designed to be flown in. Now days its almost on rails.
there have been zones where flying isnât allowed for a LONG time. Argus anyone?
TBC: Isle of QuelâDanas.
Cata: Molten Front, Tolâbarad (this was in the .0 patch!)
MoP: Isle of Thunder and Timeless Isle.
Legion: Argus.
And try to remember, it looks like 9.2 is probably the end of Shadowlands, so SLâs 9.1 patch would be equivalent to other expansionsâ .2 or .3.
Korthia is literally trash and will serve no purpose except as a zone to go through on the way to a dungeon, within the next few months. You donât even get loot from it anyway except if youâre buying it from Archist vendor or finding BoA ilvl 200 blue item generators which will be useless by next week. It doesnât have any ore besides elethium and only has nightshade, as well, so itâs not like thereâs a reason to spend time there like a zone unique ore.
I wouldnât worry about the flying not working in Maw/Oribos.
Flying does not make things too fast. Thatâs a stupid, ridiculous strawman to gaslight people into thinking "Yea the devs are right, this feature that benefits me and hurts them by making it so that I can actually enjoy the game and accomplish my task, makes the game âgo too fast.â
Smfh.
WeirdâŠ
Iâve gotten one 226 piece (!), one 207, and two purple upgradeable 200s in 3 days, all of which are purples.
Oh, and probably 3,000 anima in 3 days.
Also just because there have been zones before where you canât fly doesnât make it okay now. It wasnât okay then and it will never be ok. You still canât fly anywhere in quelâthelas. After 15 years. Because of how the game world was designed. Quelâthelas is on an entirely different world map than the rest of Eastern Kingdoms and if you could fly, it would break the game.
The other examples Iâm not sure but probably something similar, like how you canât fly to isle of thunder because itâs instanced.
Not from mobs you havenât. Quests, yea. I mean itâs possible but I highly doubt you got a 226 from Korthia that wasnât a conduit. Everything I;ve seen drop was a 200 or worse except for quest rewards.
Okay. Dude, serious reply. Have you seen how small Korthia is? We donât need flying there or in Oribos
So⊠because the gear doesnât drop from mobs, that somehow makes the zone âworthlessâ?
Kinda have to go into the zone to do the quests there, lol.
I donât disagree that flying isnât really necessary in Korthia. I was just refuting the other guyâs point that Korthia is a bad zone because âthereâs nothing thereâ when there is lots of stuff there, lol.
Your aimless reply doesnât disprove that itâs a worthless zone. Every single thing there revolves around repgrinding Deaths Advance and the Archivists. And flying would be a massive help in Korthia to counteract the god awful atrocious treasure chest placement.
In the future when itâs actually finished then, yea, maybe it will be worth it.
Imagine working and figuring out how to get to a treasure, rather than just flying to itâŠ
But all those multi-box druidâs will be farming herbs in the 4 zones.
I would love to know what youâre on, dude.
lol.
Repgrinding has been the whole focus of new zones since, like, Isle of Quelâdanas back in TBC, and every single zone after it other than maybe Argus or Timeless Isle.
You talk like thatâs a new thing or something. I love the anima gains, Iâve doubled the anima store in my covenant hall since 9.1 dropped, largely thanks to Korthia, and those purples have now bumped me up to where pretty much every item rewarded by WQs are now purples which means I can actually start building up some shards for my enchanter, etc etc.
Korthia has been great for me thusfar.
It is not a scam when we were told this up front.
There is no way to do this.
Agree itâs a shame we canât fly in zones that are actual current content. This sucks.
Flight is mostly just a feature for ALTS, so they can get around faster.
Ion will not give up in his arrogant no flying stance. He made âflyingâ a dirty word. Any time someone wants to fly, a white knight comes in and trolls about them wanting everything handed to them. The toxicity in wow starts at the top.
Using examples of places Blizzard was too lazy to add flying to in the past doesnt justify them for being too lazy once again right now
