If we decided to count that, then the disparity becomes even bigger because to get BfA flying you had to get, what was it again, FIVE factions on Revered which took probably 2-3 months, maybe more.
In Shadowlands, starting from fresh 60, getting to 40 Renown is what, like 2-3 weeks, if that? And then One Week + 1 quest after that to get flying?
tell ya what…since youre too scared to respond to the guys points I SIMPLY AGREED WITH…and since you dont have the strength to ignore me like I asked, I’ll just exert the willpower and ignore you instead.
Ion wanted to remove flying in WOD. People left en masse and this is him getting his way anyway. Problem is we keep throwing money and this stinking company.
I came in here to rant, but the OP kinda has a point. If we’re going to point out this much obvious stuff to the team, you might as well pay us. Or at least credit our accounts.
In TBC, you can’t fly in Isle of Quel’Danas, Easter Kingdom or Kalimdor.
In Cata, you can’t fly in the Molten Front.
In MoP, you can’t fly in Isle of Thunder or Timeless isle.
In WoD, you don’t fly at all until backlash was severe.
In Legion, you can’t fly in Argus.
So…what’s the big deal here?
Your appreciation is praise enough for them to continue to take things away from the player then be praised for giving them back.
They will not. It started with flying back in WoD and continues to this day. Soon they’ll make you RP walk through a zone and make you so happy you got the ability to run again.
Korthia doesn’t really need it. However, I would kill for flying in the Maw since it’s so packed with patrols and has tons of weird terrain to navigate.
That’s ok because you had to wait six and a half months for Battle for Azeroth.
So…
BfA = .0 was Dec 11th, flying patch was June 25th which is almost 6.5 months on the dot, BUT, getting the factions up to revered took at least a month, so that’s 7.5 months, depending on how much grind per day you were willing to do.
SL = 8 month wait + 1 week + 1 quest
They balance out, though SL asked far less grind from you in terms of in-game /played grinding reputations.
You just did 1 calling box a day, and 1 souls quest per week (the 1,000 anima quest usually completed itself in so-doing) and you’d be Renown 40 rather quickly.
In fact, once you got up to where Callings stop giving Renown, all you cared about (if you were ONLY doing it for flying) was the Anima and Souls quests and you could just not touch WoW all week.
In BfA, you pretty much had to do every single emissary or miss out on 1,500 rep every single time you missed one.
EDIT: If you were super-lazy, you could just wait until the last month before 9.1 and get Renown 40 even faster/easier. You could do no such thing in BfA; there were no reputation catchups.
However, when they make a step in the right direction, I like to encourage them to keep walking in that direction.
SL is far better than BfA was. And we need to actually swallow our pride and admit that yes, they did improve at least in this aspect, at least somewhat.
If all you want to do is hurl insults at the devs, then maybe next expansion we’ll have no flying at all, or, we’ll be grinding up 6-8 factions to exalted next time.
