There is no flying in 9.1

I could not agree more. There are so many high places in Revendreth and Maldraxxus that I NEED to explore.

Aren’t you the guy who posted the thread flipping out about Night Elves not getting to Goldshire easily?

I’m just happy to mount in the maw, TBH.

Flying would be cool, don’t get me wrong, but it sure beats being forced to walk.

That’s the problem. You’re grateful for something that was literally taken away from you then arbitrarily given back to you by these devs. It’s ridiculous to accept this as something good.

“TO DEFEND BLIZZARD TO THE END!!!”

Agreed, my main is a druid so I had travel form but without mounts it sucked Im sure

TBO getting rid of the jailers eye is one of the best QOL changes for 9.1

The way I see it, is that the refusal of a large portion of the playerbase to engage with “locked” or “restricted” content until such restrictions are removed is a pretty strong message to the devs that we really, REALLY hate that junk and now that the restrictions are lifted, suddenly lots of people are tearing into it.

Korthia is kind of a rip if it is true, but Oribos I can understand. Mounts are only usable in the central ring and all the wings of the first floor dismount you. So flight there would probably be more inconvenient than useful.

This kind of behavior from the devs should not be praised in any way.

Who said I was praising the devs?

I just said that I’m glad to see these stupid restrictions gone. Yeah, they shouldn’t have existed to begin with, and I hope the devs learned a lesson that people hate this crap and to not do it again.

huh…good point

This wasn’t a secret.

Where in the patch notes did it say there would be? I haven’t read them, but I am going out on a limb and going to say they never said it would be. Therefore, where is the scam?

Did they ever say we will fly in Oribos and Korthia and in 9.1? If they did, then yes, it was a scam.

We could also raise the point that they are allowing Shadowlands Flight after two weeks of two easy quests, a few scant hours total, before you can fly.

BfA made you wait a month+ to grind Nazjatar and Mechagon both to Revered which was far more grind.

EDIT: Not even two weeks. One Full Week + however long it takes you to do the Korthia quest on week 2.

The feedback MUST BE WRONG, Because EVERYONE MUST LOVE OUR IDEAS! Sincerely, the Devs.

I don’t feel like it’s too bad a deal. Oribos doesn’t even have a lot of room to fly around in anyways. Korthia and maw isn’t so bad with mounting at least. Being able to fly in the covenant zones will be a nice change!

what?
I grinded up to 40 renown BEFORE those two weeks, lmao

Well… the Maw is annoying in some places with its terrain.

It’s not Revendreth levels of frustration, but it has its areas where I wish I could just fly.

Systemlands was their last chance to go all in with no flying concept.

Look at the separated zones which is similar to Argus. When you disconnect zones from being able to transition from one another either by walking, running, or using mounts that is when you lose a lot of the MMORPG big world feeling.

That disconnected feeling already exists with instanced queue systems. Don’t need to make the situation worse by making the world feel disconnected as well.

That was like the #1 complaint with Cata zone and a lot of people argued they AFKs in Stormwind/Orgrimmar was because of that disconnected feeling. I mean there was stuff to do in Firelands patch but people didn’t embrace it.

Fast forward to MoP and you see BlizZard learned to make engaging connected zones. And even the no flying zones made sense as they were simpler in design.

Timeless Isle? Terraced design which while primitive worked so well to gate upper layers of content and exploration.
