There is no excuse for not adding Naga now

Well “people” are dumb if they don’t realize that mounts come in all shapes and sizes so it would be a graphical nightmare to try to get their tails to fit on every different type of mount.

For playable races, it’s just one position. For a naga, they would need to create many. There’s no point in doing that when they have tons of unplayable two-legged races they can make playable and use the same “straddle” animation that all playable races use.

I don’t recall saying a new playable race would be super easy to make work lmao

False information

Feel free to look how every race has multiple positions and several races have some just for them before making this claim

If you’re talking about jellyfish, kites, and disk, these animations are not really “riding” animations. They were already in the game before these mounts were created.

Nope, I’m talking about the regularly reused horses/wolves/dragons/etc

That’s just a straddle animation so I don’t know what you’re talking about.

Proposal: Adding Nagas as a Playable Race in World of Warcraft made by ChatGPT

The addition of Nagas as a playable race in World of Warcraft has been a long-time request from the player base. It would be an exciting and unique addition to the game, offering players the chance to experience Azeroth from a new perspective.

Racial Abilities: Nagas have a unique set of abilities that reflect their aquatic nature and magical abilities:

  1. Aqua Dash: Increases swim speed by 50% for 10 seconds, with a 3-minute cooldown.
  2. Serpent’s Grace: Reduces damage taken from falling by 50%, and grants immunity to root, snare, and knockback effects for 5 seconds, with a 2-minute cooldown.
  3. Arcane Empowerment: Increases spell power by 1% per level, with a maximum of 10% at level 10.
  4. Camouflage: Increases stealth effectiveness for 5 seconds, with a 1-minute cooldown.

Playable Classes: Nagas would have access to the following classes:

  1. Mage: Nagas have a natural affinity for arcane magic and would make excellent mages.
  2. Shaman: Nagas have a connection to the elements and could become powerful shamans.
  3. Hunter: Nagas are adept at hunting and tracking prey in the water and on land.
  4. Rogue: Nagas are skilled in deception and assassination, making them ideal for the rogue class.

New Hero Class: Myrmidon The Myrmidon would be a new hero class available only to Nagas. They would be a hybrid class, combining the tanking capabilities of warriors with the magic of mages.

Abilities:

  1. Water Shield: Grants the Myrmidon a shield that absorbs incoming damage for a short period.
  2. Trident Strike: Strikes the target with a trident, dealing physical damage and slowing them down.
  3. Enrage: Increases the Myrmidon’s attack power for a short period.
  4. Frost Nova: Freezes nearby enemies in place for a short period.

Passive Abilities:

  1. Aqua Affinity: Increases swim speed by 20%.
  2. Arcane Focus: Increases spell critical strike chance by 1% per level, with a maximum of 10% at level 10.
  3. Amphibious: Allows the Myrmidon to breathe underwater indefinitely.

Jokes:

  1. Why did the Naga cross the ocean? To get to the other tide!
  2. Why do Nagas always win in races? They have a fin-ish line!
  3. How do Nagas clean their scales? With tide-al power!

Overall, adding Nagas as a playable race and the Myrmidon as a new hero class would be a fantastic addition to World of Warcraft. It would provide players with new gameplay experiences and add to the richness of the game’s lore.

I mean I don’t have citations but just from being in the community for 18 years, they’re definitely up there with high elves as far as pure longevity for the request goes.

You should double check some of this stuff if you think stuff like nelves/gnomes have the same mount animation

Maybe even look at orcs on several different types and see there are differences

There is significantly more than 1 mounted pose

Are you saying that because there’s different races there’s different mounted poses…?

We can’t add naga because too many people will make too many racist naga jokes

Yep definitely what I’m saying

Have fun

I suspect it wouldn’t move the needle at all.

You’re not saying anything. You’re being intentionally vague because you can’t explain yourself.

Are you saying that since they might have to widen their legs for certain mounts that that’s a completely different stance?

Yep you nailed it, I 100% said they move the legs slightly

Definitely didn’t say there’s entirely different poses between races and between the same race on different mounts

Every race has the exact same saddle animation and position, so we can’t do naga

Examples? Instead of just saying “they’re there man.”

I have never even hear about it till you said it. Making bs up so it fits your topic?

Have you ever heard of The Little Mermaid, also known as Ariel? :japanese_goblin:

I remember there being a few MMO Champ polls that had naga as #1 or 2.

There are actually at least two excuses:

  1. In the WoW Alpha they were allegedly going to add Naga, but they couldn’t get animations and armor to work for them. They got them to work well enough to be NPCs, but not players.

  2. The Naga have pretty much zero part in DF’s story, so adding them now would be just out of left field.
