There is no excuse for not adding Naga now

Blizzard, Dragonflight is an absolutely wonderful expansion. Props. It’s amazing. Not complaining here, but listen.

There isn’t an excuse not to add Naga anymore. I realize this as I play Evoker and don’t mind not having basically any armor showing at all on the model. Playable Naga is one of the most highly requested things in WoW, compared to all requests not just playable race requests. There have been two primary reasons in the past that have been good arguments (ish) for not adding Naga. That Naga would be too difficult to make armor for because of their tail, and that it would be unfair to give them to either Horde or Alliance.

I think Drak’Thyr have proven you can release Naga without much concern for the whole tail/armor problem. I can’t visually see almost any of my gear on Drak’Thyr and I don’t see many, if any, players complaining about it.

And it goes without saying Naga would obviously be added to the roster of mercenary races, who could side with Horde and Alliance.

And as a final bonus for Naga, I suspect many players would return for this and this alone considering how highly desired this has been since TBC or longer. Many of my personal friends who have departed from WoW over the years have all expressed the desire to have a playable Naga as their main character.

Just. Do. It.

I’m assuming this is a joke but considering this one of the main points people use against Naga I’ll answer anyway lol. Boots haven’t fit on Trolls, Tauren or Drak’Thyr. /shrug

There is one major one: It is their game, they do whatever they want with it.
SL proved it beyond what previously was already obvious.

However, if they keep adding playable races, it will be for the detriment of the game, the races, and all that is left of WoW.

When wow is just another regular game, it will be in limbo, because as a regular game, WoW is the worse of them all.

The ONLY thing wow had going to itself was being part of the Warcraft franchise, only.

It is not good at visuals, it is not good at gameplay, it is not well designed, it has no engaging narrative anymore. All it had was being “warcrafty”, and now they are erasing even that.

Is there a list somewhere of the most highly requested things in WoW? Because I’ll admit I haven’t seen anyone asking for playable Naga since TBC circa 2006.

I want to see how boots fit on a dracthyr.

I seriously doubt Blizzard will ever add a race that has more or less than two legs.

They have too much invested into mounts, vehicles and flight paths. Hell, the main feature of the current xpac is Dragon Riding.

I really don’t know how this applies to this post man. Naga are one of the most “WoW” things there are. Adding Naga would accomplish the opposite of what you are afraid of.

I doubt there’ll be a water expansion to qualify playable Naga.

It was, I know it could just go in a gear slot and not have to be visible.

Money for artwork that hasn’t been done. This includes spell animations.

Honestly the main arguments against Naga as playable have always been 1) the armor/mount issue. Now the armor problem isn’t really an issue is they could still slot the gear but it just wouldn’t show on the model. The mount is more of an issue as they’d have to create new animations to have their tail curl alongside/on top of the mount models (unless they cheat and give them a humanoid form…which would be breaking lore and require some air-pulling to justify). Issue (arguably the more severe one) #2…the fact that Naga are evil and worship Azshara and we’ve never seen a faction (other than, you could argue, the ones that served Illidan) break off and become independent of her.

Fix those two issues and have a new faction of them break off and sure, it could happen. They could have water-breathing and rapidly increased swim speed as racials. If we do have a expansion featuring the mysterious lately talked about continent west of Kalimdor they could have them feature then.

Actually valid excuse: “No, that’s a lot of work and we don’t want to do that much work.”

I would play as a Naga.

Give them the Dracthyr treatment:
Playable Naga Myrmidons. Only Naga can be Myrmidons, Myrmidons can only be Naga.

No, because Achilles is a Myrmidon.

Dracthyr kind of curl their tail up a bit when on mounts, they could maybe do something similar for naga. I have no interest myself in naga and would not make one, but I would never say nah to something someone else wants.

My personal want is Saberon though…something I am afraid we’ll never get even though they have the same model as worgen. Lore be damned. lol

Of all the reasons you listed, none really explain why any Naga group would join the Horde or Alliance. Joining both would make even less sense.
