I would say Cyberpunk 2077, but that’s not released yet.
First person legitimately annoys me, so that’s a big minus out of the starting gate. Are we getting customization in 2077? It’s why I couldn’t even with the Witcher series.
…I’m sorry I missed Wildstar, but its rise and fall charts pretty close to when I was living out of internet range. I’ve been eyeballing Pillars of Eternity, and I’ve heard a few things about Shadowrun. I’ll see what I can find on the ol’ internet. I love fun powers – pure gunplay annoys me too.

Wildstar has only itself to blame for it’s failure.
“The hardcoriest of the hardcore.” are not the type of people you want to exclusively court not enough of them to really support you.

Not sure how into other MMOs you are but FFXIV has a fantastic story as does Guild Wars 2
XIV is amazing. The newest expansion is my GOTY for the story alone.
Did not care for GW2 personally.

I feel pretty good on the MMO front with WoW, ol’ WoW, and SWTOR.
…Also, the art style doesn’t do it for me, or the convoluted launcher.

When i played Eve i used to collect people’s frozen corpses.
Just cleared act 2 of Vesperia.
The guide that i’m using (You need to use a guide for Tales games if you want to complete side quests because they’re all freaking obtuse as hell and one minor mistake can cut you off from finishing them completely - Example If you don’t examine something in a house near the start of the game TWICE before you leave that house the first time you enter it you’re completely locked out of a characters final weapon.)
The guide says “If you don’t care about side quests skip to the very bottom.” Followed by around 10,000 words side quest instructions.
Like for the entire third act of the game if you skip sidequests can be done in 2-3 hours
I’ve been away from WoW for the last couple years… partly because I didn’t like where the lore was heading, and partly because I started living and breathing (and STREAMING) Splatoon 2. I ended up buying all three regions of the game so I could literally play in every Splatfest worldwide. heh
