As soon as Capcom remembers it.
I’d rather see them reboot the series entirely and start over fresh. But I would adore to see Megaman as something other than a retro game.

Hey, so…
Are there any cinematic RPGs with character customization, a fair amount of character freedom, and a story tight enough so that I feel like I have a reason to care? Companions a plus.
Despite spending a ridiculous amount of time gaming, I find myself not actually liking most games enough to play them personally (watching my husband go for 'em is fun). I like XCOM2, SWTOR, WOW, The Mass Effects (ALL OF THEM I WILL FITE YOU), the Dragon Ages (mosssstly). I want to branch out, but I’m kind of struggling to find a decent combination of challenge, snappy dialogue, campy trash (very important to me), customization, and a story that I mostly understand or at least care about.

you could try Pillars of Eternity 1 and 2 or Shadowrun Dragonfall or Shadowrun Hong Kong
The Shadowrun games are sublime.
