Are there not going to be any unique animations for the character’s on the warband screen? No sitting down near the campfire? Sharpening a blade? Playing poker together? Are they seriously just going to be standing around awkward looking like one of them farted and they don’t know who to put the blame on?
When it comes to future conversion of reputations, the current plan is to work backward into older expansions, converting many old reputations over time. As it’s a time-consuming effort, it will take a while to implement. Similar to reuptations within Dragonflight , there will also be a limited number that won’t be converted, usually this will be because it doesn’t make sense from a fantasy perspective or because it involves a character-specific choice. For example, Aldor and Scryer in the Burning Crusade and the Covenants in Shadowlands won’t be converted because they represent per-character choices.
Completely agree. And to a greater extent, what about rewards? Are we going to need to max rep on multiple profession characters or armor types for these reps that they don’t want to convert?
I get what you’re trying to do, but you’re just dicking us out of time we already invested.
Currently actively playing a rotation of 20 characters. Am very much looking forward to these changes.
They did say it was “Evergreen” but that is a new concept to Blizzard as well. Hopefully it gets added development in the future. More backgrounds, larger favorites list, etc…
Ok so two things:
“Existing gear in your character-level bank or bag inventory will be automatically added to your transmog collection when you first log into that character.”
~To be perfectly clear, so if I run Garrosh today on my Mage for a cloth helmet I’m after and god forbid she gets the Tusks drop, as long as I keep them in her bags or bank they WILL go into my transmog collection for my plate wearers to use once this system goes live?
“Once a reputation is converted to Warband-wide, reputation progress will display as the furthest that any character in your account has achieved. If you were at Renown 5 for Valdrakken Accord on one character and Renown 10 on another, your new Warband Valdrakken Accord Renown will be 10. We opted for the furthest progress earned because, for many reputations, progress is not earned evenly. You can earn a lot of front-loaded reputation from doing campaigns and other one-shot quests. The thought behind this was that if we added all the reputations earned across all characters together, this would create an unfair advantage for players who play many alts over those who spend their time on one or just a few characters.”
~Yeah no this is false. Someone playing just one or two characters has the advantage because they will have stayed on making progress with the reputations and will be further along than someone playing ten+ characters. You need to alter this and merge it all together. I’d be maxed out on all DF reps now if I’d only been playing one or two characters, but because I play over twenty I’m not even close on anyone.
“The new Warbands system being introduced in The War Within will encompass all of the characters on a player’s Battle.net account as well as the items, collections, and progression they share.”
Well this ought to make life interesting for me
Anything about void storage?
Class-specific appearances are an exception and will still be collectible only by that specific class
I hope they reconsider and change this. Collecting Tier 1, Tier 2, and Legion tier is already a pain since they don’t drop as tier tokens or and some do not have a non-tier appearance. While many of the warband changes look great, this ones just frustrating. Not everyone wants to kill Ragnaros, Antoran High Command, etc on all of their characters just to watch the tier that drops be for another class and then not get to collect the appearance even when the new system goes live. Was hoping warbands would make collecting those sets for characters less tedious than it currently is.
Ths Favorites should have 5 slots so we get a full party.
3 Million gold is way over the top, no way I’m giving that much to unlock features . Disappointed that only new rep will be account wide All rep should be included we have asked for this forever!
Easily one of the best improvements you’ve come up with.
If I have a suggestion, it’s go all in, just make it all account-wide. The “most of” or “all, but these two exceptions…” approach just doesn’t need to be there. And if I’m not mistaken makes the transition more difficult for your development team.
It’s only the last warband tab that costs 2.5 million. You don’t have to have all five tabs…
(…meanwhile, collectors will be going “I NEEEEEEEEEED IIIIIIIT!”…)
Warbands has the potential to be a home run hit because players that play many alts will feel like they are part of the MMORPG progression system again for endgame.
I disagree - I wonder if I will find a reason even to play my alts
Will we be able to play with this before the expansion launches, like a month or so earlier?
finishes rank 25 dragonscale expedition on my 43rd character
Accountwide whatnow?
(just kidding, I knew this was the most useless pet project ever)
can you please let our alts be the dungeons npcs pls blizz?
The post above is EXACTLY what I was hoping for and wanted when I heard the title “Warbands.”
