still blowing my mind every day that horde got playable dwarfs before they got playable ogres, incredible.
Iām right there with you.
EDIT: Not sure Iāll be back on the Forums for the rest of my sub. It appears Iām getting salty again about not having Ogres and it isnāt even because of this thread or any questions asked here. It is just that every time I come back to WoW seeing all the other races that came before Ogres just does not sit well with me.
I come back, see Ogres in Noob Island and wonder why we donāt have them. I see Ogres in Darkmoon Faire and wonder it again. I see them all over and wonder again. I look at all the playable, illegitimate races that have come before Ogres and just shack my head and wonder why. What stopped Blizz from giving us Ogres? KT females are not liked and yet we got KT so it canāt be that the female model would not be liked.
The āToo little, too lateā boat is leaving and Iām about to get on it. I find the classes so boring since we got locked into specs. Everything is being homogenized and I am not a fan nor have been since pre-Cata. There is no more nostalgia to hold on to nor has there been for a while. I donāt even feel sad it has gotten to that point where Iāve overstayed my visit.
Itās an interesting combination, especially since weāre going to be dealing with Titan related stuff in the next few expansions.
However, in thinking of a Titan focused story of some sort, I still think Saurok for the Horde and Rajani Mogu for the Alliance would be a great combo that would fit well with a Titan themed storyline. Especially since there is a pretty bit link between the races, both of which would have Titan related artifacts and knowledge needed for such a storyline.
I still lean towards Horde Ogres and Alliance Furbolg lately. Mostly because they can fit together in a storyline that takes place in Kalimdor while having a common enemy, whoever it would be in said storyline. Night Elf lands involve the Furbolg while Horde lands involve the Horde Ogre clans, both leading to a combined storyline involving taking out a threat of some sort. This is of course a brief example of what could be done which Iāve gone over it a number of times.
Just personal preference, of course.
Even more mind blowing is that the robot stone Dwarves will likely get a seat on the Horde Council before Ogres, of which one of the Horde Ogre clans is one of the founding members of the Horde.
Really feels bad thinking about it.
Weāll always be here if you ever want to join in or just check up on Ogre news.

Thatās something I really doubt. We donāt have a set Earthen group within the Horde and there is no Horde Earthen leader, while we do have set groups of Ogres within the Horde.
Thatās a good point. Neither the Horde or Alliance have an Earthen leader.
I hope thatās not a trend going forward.
I do too and Iām just hoping that Blizzard just made this choice from a story standpoint. Like the Earthen storyline is about uniting them and thus uniting them only to split them by faction divide would be pretty weird. However they still wanted them playable, so they went with the individual choice path over having set groups like the factions as theyāve done before with the Pandaren and Dracthyr.
Now I canāt picture that happening with Ogres. They are apart of the Horde and I hope that Blizzard would establish a leader for them, either before or when they become playable.
I donāt see why Ogres wouldnāt have a leader or leaders for the playable Horde Ogre faction, whatever it is. Moreso when we currently have three Horde Ogre factions. It wouldnāt make any sense to not have an Ogre leader and such.
I have to agree.
To be honest, in the context of the game and its factions, I really feel like playable races need to have their own group/faction as part of the Horde or Alliance and also a leader of said group/faction. Itās something that really compliments the game and gives that new playable race some personality. It also really enhances the gameplay.
Having no leader and just being an individual choice just feels flat and lazy to me, along with a feeling of just cutting costs which never feels great. Earthen already feel odd how their joining was barely shown, and their presence in storylines and such will likely be lessened compared to other playable races, with the odd NPC here or there at best. Any future playable races treated like this would likely get the same feeling.
Playable races need a lot of love and care. If you just haphazardly toss them in as a playable race, it really lessens the impact and cheapens the deal. Moreso when other playable races have gotten fleshed out and get to be in the spotlight and have a presence of some sort. Not to mention things like the Horde Council being a thing, where only select members get to be a part of.
I could go on, but allergies are making it hard for me to concentrate. Iāll just toss that onto the pile of ideas I could make as a thesis paper.

I very much agree with this and the only real Earthen showing I can see is The Last Titan.
Hope you feel better.
There is speculation that this new patch for War3 Reforged will actually make the game what it was promoted as.
Iām sharing it here, because Iām curious if we will see any changes with the Stonemaul. Like say perhaps including Overlord MokāMorokk and us seeing how he showed strength. Like say perhaps he could be in charge of the Ogre/Darkspear base when the Horde invades Theramore or something.
With the anniversary event starting soon, I thought it would be good to have a video showing all things coming with the next patch:
Iāll keep an eye out for anything Ogre related to report on when the patch launches, though other than that one Ogre NPC in the celebration area, I didnāt see much in that regard.
I would be surprised if there was much changed with Warcraft 3 Reforged. Granted, I donāt really know a lot of what was promised and it has been quite some time since that game launched.
Might be worth checking out if this does become a thing, however. Iāve seen Warcraft 3 Reforged go on sale a few times, though usually rarely when it does happen. But weāll see if things get added if/when it happens I guess.

how large would the ogreās be???
Midnight is going to be a elf clown fiesta, the chances are below zero.
ITās pretty clear blizzard will give priority to elves, and after the flop that rock dwarves are, they are going to make the furry elves playable next
Where
Where are they
The playable Ogres
WHERE
A question many of us have asked since the game launched and are still seeking an answer to.
Hopefully weāll find them someday so we can put them on the Horde side of that character creation screen!

Today is the big day! The 20th anniversary event should be up sometime today, depending on whether extended maintenance or extended extended maintenance occurs.
When I get a chance, Iāll check out the new event stuff as soon as possible and keep an eye out for Ogre stuff to report back on. So far, there is only that one Ogre NPC, who Iāll be sure to pay a visit to.
Also, 20 years is 20 years too long to go without playable Horde Ogres. But it aināt over until itās Ogre, so let us hope we donāt have to wait another 20 years to see playable Horde Ogres finally!

With the new patch, the Dracthyr have gained access to new classes. The lore explanation is that the Scalecommanders returned to the Forbidden Reach, searched for more Dracthyr creches, and those who awakened turned out to be members of the Obsidian Warders and Dark Talons that rejoined their creche.
I mentioned this because it honestly made me curious on how future playable races could have their class poll expanded. For example, I donāt expect Ogre Druids to be a thing when Ogres first go live. However should Druids end up open to all races, I canāt help but wonder if playable Ogres would just get the class or if we would get an Ogre Druid clan that joins the Horde to explain it.
They added Lantressor in Tanaris, for the anniversary stuff, and casually put him to say that the ogres there are ānot ready to change yetā like he and the horde did
They keep hurting where it hurts more
I took a look around the anniversary event area and didnāt see any Ogre NPCās at all.
The one I linked several posts back, from the sound of the wording, mentions NPC rotation based on expansions:
So itās possible that Ogre NPC is on rotation with other NPCās, which I assume are the āHoliday Celebrantā NPCās. Unfortunately, I donāt know the timer for when the rotation happens, what NPCās get changed, and what expansion theme gets picked.
I tried to look up āHoliday Celebrantā on Wowhead, only to have several results with various models tied to each entry and unfortunately didnāt come up with the Ogre model above. Iāll have to take a better look later when I have time, as Iām a bit rushed this morning thanks to errands.
So Iām guessing this Ogre is likely a āHoliday Celebrantā and has no name or any way to determine what clan they come from. Even more disappointing is that there arenāt any Ogre NPCās at all I saw. A real shame, since Ogres are fairly ironic to Warcraft and the MU Stonemaul Clan miss out on the event.
Ah well. Iāll keep an eye out for anything else of interest to report. On another note, I did pick up this title:
Fitting if you visit my other megathread.

Yes!!! Theyāre overdue to become playable.
Warcraft Direct will be November 13. Should anything Ogre be announced, I will share.
