I’d definitely be down with that. The races all get their fantasy and there’s no race slot bloat. I think I might have seen your thread before but I’ll have to look for it.

Racial talent tree idea

I was just thinking with the current trend of customizations going into base races such as wildhammer dwarves and darkfallyn customizations that it would be neat if they could had their own racials to reflect that, if only they had been their own races to reflect it… But then i started to think of the new talent trees for classes and started to think that maybe, if they implemented racial trees and condensed some races (hmt, dark iron dwarves, mecha gnomes, etc) they could create a racial talen…

What if races had talent trees?

Imagine… if we could have racial talent trees. Or a way for us to pick racials. xD. That would be cool. For example I am lvling/gearing up my nightborne warrior. The magic buff racial feels mostly useless outside of borrowed power stuff it boosting. Since most of the damage I do is physical. I think allowing me to pick something else would be nice. Also I sort of want that illusion racial that we were going to get.

While I think Blizz messed up with a lot of the customizations in Shadowlands, I think making Wildhammer Dwarves and Sand Trolls just customizations was a good call. Nothing sucks more than knowing that in order to play as a certain colored Dwarf or Orc, you have to sacrifice numerous customization options you would’ve gotten as a different color. The bar for actual AR’s should be high.

Eh. It’s not a Wildhammer unless you have their Stormhammer and Gryphons as a racial. Too specific to them to be ignored.

Rather like the racial talent system for that reason. Could give Bronzebeard that option to change racials to Wildhammer ones. No AR bloat with a too similar race that way, current Wildhammer players don’t have to race change, and that system could be expanded really well.

Ogres should be an AR though. They’re not similar to any other race and they’ve been part of the Horde since before vanilla launched.
