I added a section showing off a potential tabard and allied race banner for playable Saurok in the first post. I linked it several posts ago, but Iāll link it again here:
This is the Skumblade banner that is put up in their area of Isle of Thunder.
As I said before, the Skumblade likely wouldnāt be the playable Saurok faction, but given that we have a design, all that would need to really be changed is the colors on it, and it would function both as a tabard and allied race banner design, in my opinion. It would definitely save some time and resources on Blizzardās end, too.
On another note, my next class opened early, so Iāve been working on getting a head start on it. Iāll still be around and posting, though my posts may slow down a bit as a result. Iāll always find some time to show off my Ogre and Saurok support, of course!

Iāve shared a few videos of Lizardman in a few Soul Calibur games, though I donāt think Iāve shared it for Soul Calibur III on the Playstation 2. I share things like this to show off Saurok idea inspiration (animations and the like in this case).
This is a playthrough of the arcade mode using him:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VJ3LarfQDGE
And you can see his arcade endings (remember when fighting games had these?) here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XU56IEyeeTg
If youāre wondering why it plays twice, there is an ending A and an ending B.
The best part of it is right at the end, at the 1:15 mark, with the different Lizardmen jumping for joy and celebrating. Imagine that but with Saurok getting to become a playable Horde race. I know Iād have a celebration part of some sort in Orgrimmar if it happened!

One of the better lizardmen Iāve seen in many games and its a fighting game. Always found that amusing.

Lizardman/Aeon has always been one of my favorite characters in Soul Calibur. Iāve been meaning to play Soul Calibur 6 and check out making custom Lizardmen characters, but Iāve been really busy. Also hoping Aeon will be a DLC character, as I really liked his moveset in Soul Calibur V.
There is another game, called āLegend of Grimrockā which also had a sequel, that lets you create your own party members and includes Lizardmen as an option.
Here is what some look like, with some possibly being female since other races do have female members:
https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/grimrock/images/7/75/Lizard_Faces_LoG2.jpg
And some different mugshots:
https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/grimrock/images/1/1f/Lizard_Faces.jpg
You can see all the different races in that game, and the fifth one in the sequel, here:

Overall, an interesting selection of races for the game.

Since Saurok have some really sharp teeth, and considering there are crocolisks on Pandaria, I figured Iād share some alligator and crocodile facts for some Saurok inspiration.
Alligators:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wzAXqsjRQ6U
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6PloVdEUdSE
Crocodiles:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6w60-QCTKik
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_zrv4LcFV8s
The main thing of note with these animals is their ability to perform a death roll. More or less, the alligator or crocodile will grab ahold of something and do a really big roll as a way to either defend itself or to kill its prey. Itās also very useful when in the water to drown its prey.
With this in mind, I thought about if Saurok had a death roll attack of some sort. Imagine if a Saurok managed to pull down an Alliance member into the water, latched onto them with their mouth, and proceeded to do a death roll. Pretty scary scene, isnāt it? Itād be a pretty cool tactic for Saurok to use in combat.
Granted, I donāt know how this would work as a racial. At best, you might just get an extra bite racial, which could cause some direct damage or even a bleeding DoT, or it could work as a small stun of some kind. Of course, with the stun idea, the tail whip racial idea would work much better in that regard, in my opinion.
Regardless, I did want to bring up the death roll as something to think about for a Saurok racial idea. It is possible some Saurok couldāve originally been crocolisks, as the Mogu likely gathered up several reptiles of different kinds to create them, so I felt it was worth a little look at alligators and crocodiles just for some idea inspiration.

So while not really Saurok related, Ghostcrawler recently made several tweets regarding Pandaria, playing through it again after so long and some development insight. Theyāre shared in this Wowhead article:
https://www.wowhead.com/news=318731/ghostcrawler-on-leveling-through-mists-of-pandaria-in-the-shadowlands-pre-patch
Of interest is the part where he talks about the Mogu being added late into development of MoP:
āWe added mogu pretty late because we didnāt have enough bad guys. You can only butcher so many monkeys and sha.ā
Itās an interesting thought to see what MoP wouldāve been like without the Mogu. Iām assuming Saurok were still a thing that was created and possibly implemented in the game, unless they came after the Mogu were put in. If that assumption were correct, then itās likely that Saurok wouldāve just been a natural Lizardman race that wouldāve been as evil or cruel as the Mogu, seeing as they needed villains in the game.
Maybe in BfA, there wouldāve been a tribe of Saurok of friendly Saurok. A possibility since the Rajani Mogu were potential allied race candidates, so itās possible we wouldāve see that with the Saurok. I mean, if they can make a faction of friendly Mogu who werenāt as evil as the other Mogu clans, itās always possible we could see that with Saurok in any universe. There might have been warring Saurok tribes as well in the area instead of warring Mogu clans.
Still, I think Mogu being in is great in the long run for Saurok. Mogu work very well as villains, and if Saurok ever become playable, they would be very integral to playable Saurok backstory and offer some really neat quest and storyline opportunities.
Anyway, this is something interesting I wanted to share that is indirectly Saurok-related.

Got an ice storm that is lasting all day today and wonāt stop until Wednesday morning or afternoon. Iām hoping that I donāt lose power, but if you donāt see me post for awhile, then Iām trying to not become a popsicle while I study college work while the power comes back.
In the meantime, I wanted to share another RL lizard, mostly for their body color patterns, which many would look awesome for Saurok customization options. This is the Tokay gecko:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PEuG3RRXAqA
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T1o4ggW37EI
There are some really beautiful patterns that these geckos have. Here are some examples:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-TnIVEUb4S4
Theyāre also known for having powerful bites, which Saurok would likely be have also.
Interesting thing to note is that in the Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages video game for the GameBoy Color, Tokayās are a race of lizard people. I actually thought of an idea of a Saurok mini-game inspired from the Tokay mini-game in that game.
Their artwork looks like this:
https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/zelda_gamepedia_en/images/4/4f/Tokay.png
You can see info on the Tokay in that game here:
https://zelda.gamepedia.com/Tokay
And that mini game idea I mentioned can be found in this post here:

As most people likely have heard, we now have a new release date for Shadowlands and the prepatch:
Shadowlands release date: Nov. 23rd (Nov. 24th for Europe)
Prepatch release date: Nov. 10th
https://www.wowhead.com/news=318830/world-of-warcraft-shadowlands-new-release-date-is-november-23th-na-24th-eu
And a story trailer was released:
https://youtu.be/yjPcJsl3COs
I donāt really expect much in the way of Saurok in this expansion, other than possibly some dead, hungry, and very angry Saurok, but if I see anything of interest, Iāll be sure to post it here.
I did recently finish an achievement that gives a pretty neat title that would go well with playable Saurok:
https://www.wowhead.com/achievement=8121/stormbreaker
It consists of doing several achievements on the Isle of Thunder. Some are annoying, but itās mostly time-consuming. The ritual stones are the things that take the longest, since you only can get one a week from a quest, one to drop from a rare mob (only one can drop period from this way no matter what rare gives you one to my understanding), or getting one in a random loot box from your respective factionās quartermaster in the area.
Still, it is a title fitting for Saurok to flaunt their ability to beat up Mogu, who are their sworn enemy. If we ever get playable Saurok, I may use this title for them.
If anyone is working towards this achievement and has any questions, feel free to ask. Iāll try to answer as best as I can.

Posts have been a bit slow because of college work (which is kicking my butt something fierce this semester), along with a recent ice storm having downed a bunch of branches in my yard that Iām trying to help clear with my dad. Most of my time is balancing between those two things and being exhausted afterwards. x- x
So for this post, Iāll post some gecko facts as well as showing off the different color patterns they have to inspire some Saurok ideas.
General gecko facts:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0o5j3__-fa0
Here is one specifically on leopard geckoes:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=shXWu38BnK8
And one based on crested geckos:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J21lgecfwbY
The idea of a prehensile tail is a good idea to reinforce the idea of playable Saurok being able to hold weapons or items with their tail.
The way geckos can climb stuff could help explain how Saurok are able to cliff things with ease, such as cliff walls and the like. I linked some videos that explains how geckos can do it awhile ago in the second half in this post:
https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/t/the-unofficial-saurok-playable-race-discussion-megathread/189709/415
Of course, there are plenty of really neat gecko color patterns that would work very well as Saurok scale color customization options.
On another note, WoWās 16th anniversary event is currently going on. Hard to believe that 16 years have gone by since the game first launched, though I started during Burning Crusade. However, it also means 16 years have gone by without any playable reptilian races. Hopefully, weāll see some reptiles added to that character creation screen soon, and that it wonāt take another 16 years to do so!

After weeks of farming Oondasta, I finally got the belt transmog I needed to finish the red Saurok armor set! Check it out here:
https://64.media.tumblr.com/2644e1110564d82e07df5ea93aa76336/b136bee329e58218-30/s540x810/a854e4ea7f5e25c157093b7a0901b0b6f64e44df.jpg
While it was a pain to keep farming for it, it feels good to finally have all three sets. I was keeping track of whether Iād get this transmog or the mount Oondasta drops first. I even got all the raptor mounts from primal egg drops from him.
As for the other armors, here is me in green:
https://64.media.tumblr.com/18d852894320eab4c521a5cf0c16df88/48c64183ad8db4c4-fe/s540x810/ef7062d24bdc6fce60fdd95c5a7338cf755b6b26.jpg
And me in blue:
https://64.media.tumblr.com/0f2f2478b13f15c8db63ecf6b92c5b0d/a093997d678e96e3-dd/s540x810/47baea9df6c5297e7efc206ad6b8fd1d0dab9d64.jpg
I like them all, though I think I like the green armor the most. Blue comes really close, though.
These armors also remind me of Zelda in a way, where Link has green armor and in some games you can get blue or red armor. In that case, blue Link has always been my favorite. I wish I could get my hands on the triforce, as I know what Iād wish for.
All in all, I feel happy to finally have all these sets. Now if I could just get the Son of Galleon mount to drop from Galleonā¦going on 400+ tries so far.
Anyway, if anyone sees me change colors, itās just me changing between the armor sets. Consider me a chameleon in that regard!

Iāve come across something called āZelda: Realms of Shadow.ā I canāt figure out what exactly it is, as information on it seems very scarce, but it seems like it could be a fan made pen and paper game similar to Dungeons and Dragons or just a general fan game of some kind.
Anyway, there seems to be some really neat lizardmen artwork of Geru, the lizardman race in Zelda II, and Lizalfos, lizardmen enemies in Zelda games in general, that I wanted to share. Far as I can tell, these could be fan artwork, but Iām unsure where they originate from, so I donāt have anyone to credit aside from the wiki I found these in.
I wanted to share some of them because theyāre really awesome and could help inspire some Saurok armor ideas. Since they appear to potentially be fan artwork, Iām going to link to the pages that have the artwork in them as opposed to trying to link them all individually on this post.
The first two come from the Geru page here:
https://zeldafanon.fandom.com/wiki/Geru
One of them is that of a warrior, which you can see in the thumbnail above. The other is a really cool one in a caster robe of some kind. I could see that being a Saurok Warlock design in a way.
The Lizalfos page has a few neat pieces of artwork as well:
https://zeldafanon.fandom.com/wiki/Lizalfos
The main image of interest is the big one at the very bottom of what seems like a Lizalfos warrior.
Anyway, just some cool images I wanted to share. I wish I knew more of what this actually was and where the images came from, especially so I could give credit to whoever made them.
You can never get enough Saurok idea inspiration!

Oooā¦ could you imagine a Saurok shadow priest with that look? Fabulous.

Thinking about the potential shadow form for Saurok Shadow Priests is an amazing thought, as they would look really cool with the right scale colors on them. Itās a reason why one of my potential Saurok character ideas is a Saurok Shadow Priest if they can be priests.
I donāt know what it is, but the idea of lizardmen utilizing either necromancy or something like shadow magic is a really awesome sight when I think about it. Especially the idea of a Saurok Unholy Death Knight. I think a lot of it is because I really liked the Iksar from Everquest and how they utilized necromancy and such.
As it stands, my character ideas, all based on previous Iksar characters and also all male, would be a Saurok Shadow Priest, Saurok Unholy Death Knight, and Saurok Demonology Warlock. Hopefully, Iāll be able to see them as a reality someday.

So Iāve been thinking of different avenues to show off Ogre/Saurok support, and one suggestion Iāve seen so far is getting a twitter account. I was wanting suggestions on what exactly to do with a twitter account if I made one based on the Ogre/Saurok partnership Iāve mentioned before.
Iām still planning out the direction I want to go with the Ogre/Saurok partnership, and I can certainly make a twitter themed behind it. However, Iām unsure of what exactly I would do with a twitter account. I actually have never used any form of social media (facebook, etc) and some I have looked at was just to browse something for news (twitter, etc). So making a twitter account for the purposes of showing off Ogre/Saurok support would be a new thing for me to figure out how to best utilize it.
If anyone has suggestions for what a twitter account should do, or have any suggestions on other ways to show off Ogre/Saurok support, please share! Iām open to suggestions as I figure out what direction to go. Obviously, Iāll still be operating the megathreads as my primary way of showing support.
In the meantime, Iāll be dreaming of Ogres and Saurok on the Horde side of that new character creation screen.

Iām helpless with Twitter and Facebook so I canāt help there. Lol

As am I, having not used either at all or pretty much any form of social media, other than browsing without an account to see gaming news.
I can see Twitter being a potential way to communicate with Blizzard and the devs, granted I donāt want to overdo it and bug them constantly. Iām also not sure what all I would tweet about, especially since the Ogres in the Horde havenāt had much appearances since Cataclysm, and Saurok had some presence in BfA, but not a whole lot. Granted, what was there did help more to show that Saurok were capable of working with other races just fine.
One thing Iām trying to be careful with is to not have huge grandiose plans. Instead, Iām more interested in taking baby steps, seeing how things go, and moving from there. Granted, Iām still trying to figure out what those steps are.
Itās a lot of work, but well worth it to advocate for playable Ogres and Saurok on the Horde.

So I came across an interesting change that I havenāt seen documented anywhere, unless I completely missed it. I found on the GameFAQs WoW forums a mention that the Pandaren Hunter starting pet was changed.
Pandaren Hunters originally started with a dragon turtle, but now they appear to start with a brown yak. I double checked it just now, and sure enough there is a brown yak as the Pandaren Hunter starting pet. This is something I havenāt seen documented at all, and even Petopia hasnāt updated this on their starting pet chart section.
So what exactly does this have to do with Saurok?
Well, recall that one of the Saurok clans actually utilized dragon turtles as pets:
Dragon turtles are a potential starting hunter pet for Saurok that I have listed, along with basilisks (also debating adding mushan to that list). If we got a playable faction of Saurok that traveled off Pandaria, it would make more sense to have something like a dragon turtle that could be comfortable swimming long distances underwater and such. Of course, if the playable faction of Saurok were still on Pandaria, the dragon turtles are native to the continent, so it could be fitting as a starting pet still.
Now let me be clear: Do I think this is some sign of playable Saurok? Not at all. This is moreso an interesting change that I noticed and wanted to ramble on some. Itās unclear why Pandaren now start with a yak pet instead of the dragon turtle, but I canāt really say that such a change is because they want to implement a new race with dragon turtles as their starting pet. Itās a bit hard to imagine that being the reason why any starting Hunter race would have new pets, and I havenāt seen any mention on the reason for doing so with Pandaren.
Whatever the reason for the change, itās an interesting one. To my knowledge, Pandaren are the only race that have their Hunter starting pet changed, but if someone else notices another Hunter race having new starting pets, please feel free to mention.
More Saurok research to continue in the future!
