When it comes to the idea of multiple Saurok tribes as part of the playable Saurok faction, I feel like brand new tribes would be the most likely path forward. They can work as blank slates to write for and can fit at any point and time, whether they reside on a new continent or a place like Unāgoro Crater.
With existing Saurok tribes, it can work. The idea behind it could require an exodus from Pandaria, likely from evil Mogu clans coming into power again and managing to take over Pandaria again, and the collection of tribes can always go to either a new continent or an established area.
One of the big questions with existing tribes is what tribes would be likely to join up? The thing is that regardless of what is done with this idea, a lot will need to be written for the existing Saurok tribes to flesh them outā¦without the Mogu flesh-shaping magic, of course.
One of the contenders that I think could act as the tribe that seeks to get other tribes to join them against the Mogu and likely an exodus to another continent to survive would be the Glintrok Tribe:
This is a tribe Iāve talked about a number of times because they seem to have a sense of honor and are very loyal to their tribe, with their leader, Gekkan, inspiring courage and loyalty. Itās even said in-game in the dungeon guide to the Moguāshan Palace.
I feel like that would be enough to have the Glintrok Tribe take the initiative in mediating with other Saurok tribes about banding together to have a chance of survival against the evil Mogu clans. It would also help to inspire other tribes that join to stick together and even unite in the playable Horde Saurok storyline. Not to mention that this would be another parallel between Saurok and Orcs.
As for other tribes, itās going to take a lot of researching and looking at them again. Some would likely join, some may have their own ambitions, and some could be too close to the feral-like mindset to be open to such ideas. Still, it makes for an interesting storyline.
With using already existing tribes, it does help with the nostalgia some, especially if there are some aspects like being able to ride Galleon to cause some destruction. And it would be interesting to see already known tribes get fleshed out more and become something more.
I donāt really have a personal preference, myself. Iām looking at this as one of many possibilities of things you could do with playable Horde Saurok, but it is a fun thing to think about.
Regardless, as long as I get playable Horde Saurok, Iām fine with either brand new tribes or existing tribes.
-Playable Saurok for the Horde please!
how would you feel if they were made playable?
but alliance only
Very sad and disappointed. It would really feel like a monkeyās paw wish.
However, I really donāt see Saurok on the Alliance at all unless Saurok were a neutral race, which being neutral is better than nothing.
That said, Saurok really fit the Horde so much better and their storyline would fit the Hordeās theme almost perfectly. And there are several other reasons Iāve gone other multiple times as to why Saurok fit the Horde much better than Alliance.
So hopefully, weād get Saurok as a playable Horde race someday, which makes the most sense to me.

Iād be a little disappointed but at least Iād have Saurok.
For anyone who doesnāt know, instead of a Blizzcon this year we are getting a Warcraft Direct steam. I donāt know when it will be, but some people are saying late October/early November.
I donāt expect Saurok news in it, but if there are any Iāll share.
Iām assuming itāll be a focus on Warcraftās history. If we got any news, my best guess would be TWWās next patch and MoP Classic being announced.
I donāt really know what to expect for TWWās next patch. Iād be surprised if there was anything Saurok related, but Iāll still keep an eye out just in case.
MoP Classic would be pretty exciting, though I assume not much would be done to celebrate it in Retail. Still, it would bring Saurok into part of the limelight, so maybe we could help to increase interest in them as a playable Horde race. I donāt think I would go through MoP Classic unfortunately, since my free time has been limited and I really only have time for Retail when it comes to MMOās. Plus I donāt think there would be much there that I havenāt really gone through in Retail to report on. Weāll see how I feel if/when MoP Classic gets announced.
When official announcements on when this Warcraft Direct will be, Iāll be sure to help report it.

I figure that TWW would have a new Road Map. I suspect we would get the 11.1.0 reveal, with the potential info on 11.0.7, should we have one.
Classic MOP makes sense, though Iāve heard that some members of the Classic Community are expecting a Classic+. Though I think that was born out of Blizzard copy righted striking Turtle WoW on YouTube.
I think itās the most likely. MoP has been getting a lot of love lately and it was a decently received expansion. So I donāt see Classic at a point where theyāll deviate from the assumed path yet.
Speaking of MoP, the anniversary of its release date is coming up in a few days. It was released on September 25th, 2012. So itāll be on its 12 year anniversary this coming Wednesday!
Iāll try to remember to do a post celebrating it on that day. Donāt really expect MoP Classic announced then, though it would be cool, but Iāll see if there is any special official celebrations for it.
Of course, getting playable Horde Saurok would be a great way to celebrate MoPās anniversary!

Jinyu first, jinyu only.
Por que no los dos?
Jinyu would make a great playable race, but seeing as theyād be Alliance only, I donāt see why we couldnāt get another race with them. I know people would probably expect Hozen in that case, howeverā¦hmmā¦how aboutā¦
-Saurok and Hozen as Horde races
-Rajani Mogu and Jinyu as Alliance races
I think that would work out very well!
Also, on the subject of lizards, this DLC got announced for TMNT: Shredderās Revenge just now and I had to share it here:
Edit: Looks like it finally got announced, so videos are showing up again on YouTube:
Two lizard characters, Mondo Gecko and Mona Lisa, are being added as playable characters and should be available soon for all systems the game is on.
Iām pretty excited in general, since I am a TMNT fan. I feel like with playable Horde Saurok, there could be references to both of those characters. Maybe a Saurok engineer making hover boards or something to help with hunting and such? Definitely some possibilities there.
Welp, I know what Iām buying for my Switch when it is available. Cowabunga!

I came across a really awesome banner artwork on DeviantArt that was a commission to have several members of a guild in ESO, which I think all the characters seem to be Argonians. It was created by ThemeFinland and was uploaded to the website on Feb. 11th, 2016.
āAn-Xileel (commission)ā by ThemeFinland on DeviantArt
I wanted to share this banner to help imagine what a group of Saurok could look like as a playable race. It being in a swamp-like jungle area also makes me imagine if their starting area was Unāgoro Crater, which is one of the potential starting areas for them weāve discussed before.
There is also the sight of seeing several Argonians there in different armor types to help imagine what Saurok could look like in similar gear. Really makes me excited to think of how the starting area would look with all the newbie Saurok characters ready to start their journey in the world (of WarcrafT!).
Also the guild being all Argonians reminds me of the days of Everquest 1. I remember seeing guilds that were themed of everyone being a specific race. I remember seeing at least one Iksar-only guild in that game, which had their own website and all sorts of screenshots of things theyāve done in-game. Itās a cool thing you donāt really see much of nowadays.
Anyway, Iāll continue keeping an eye out for Lizardmen related artwork to share for playable Horde Saurok idea inspiration!

Happy 12th anniversary to Mists of Pandaria!
12 years ago, my current favorite expansion launched on September 25th, 2012. At the time, Pandaren were one of my most wanted playable races, so imagine my surprise when I saw that happen.
I remember happily making my male Pandaren Shaman, which Blizzard let us make our Pandaren characters early for anyone to make (aside from Monks if you didnāt own the expansion) before MoP launched. I had never made a Shaman before and always imagined my Pandaren character being one if they ever became playable. Needless to say, I was really happy and excited!
I leveled my Shaman while waiting for my physical copy from Amazon US to arrive in the mail. I then made a female Blood Elf Monk right after I activated it. Still have both characters today, the latter of which is currently my engineer worker.
And of course I need to mention Saurok. I had been wanting a playable Lizardman race of some sort in WoW, which they didnāt really exist at all aside from some drakonids. Then I saw Saurok shortly after starting the campaign on this character, and while I was excited to see a Lizardman race finally, I was disappointed that they would likely be relegated to mook NPC jobber status and be forgotten about past MoP. Little did I realize that my destiny would be to one day lead the march for supporting them as a playable Horde race.
MoP is a special expansion to me for various reasons, not just Saurok related of course. I am happy that MoP has been getting a lot of love from Blizzard lately, from MoP remix to various MoP related activities and such. I still think MoP Classic is inevitable, which will be exciting to see even if I donāt really play Classic much.
I do find it suspicious that MoP has been getting a lot of love from Blizzard lately for quite awhile, though I canāt really say it would lead to anything. Could just be a coincidence of course, but I do recall rumors from somewhere that we could revisit Pandaria in a future expansion. These rumors came about past BfA, and with The Last Titan being a revisit to Northrend somehow, a revisit to Pandaria could be in the cards someday. Although the rumors were likely just that, maybe they could hold some weight. Who knows?
MoP still stands as my favorite expansion, and itās pretty awesome to see the potential of Saurok as a playable race both in MoP and expansions that came afterwards. Honestly, it would make for an interesting journey to see them being a NPC race to becoming playable someday.
But in the meantime, MoP has a lot of good memories for me, and Iām happy that it seems to have a lot of love from Blizzard. Hopefully that love extends to Saurok as well.
Happy anniversary, Mists of Pandaria!

So not specficially Saurok related, but Wowhead posted a Titan/Keeper related post involving a daily:
Speculation seems to be that Blizzard could be villain batting the Titans, who are going a bit extreme with their methods.
Not sure if that is going to be what happens, and I assume there is a reason The Last Titan might end up beingā¦well, the last titan. But if that ends up being the case and the Keepers could wind up getting villain batted as well. And as you recall, the Keepers were the ones who created the Mogu, which 95% of them decided to go into business for themselves.
Itās a reason Iāve been harping on Saurok possibly having a role in this, seeing as several tribes have raided Mogu vaults and such. Itās very possible some Saurok have Titan related artifacts and such as a result, which could make some sense with the Mogu having some of that kind of stuff.
However, a lot of this is just speculation. We wonāt really know what direction the story goes until we get closer to The Last Titan, which will be a few years before we ever get to that.
Still, it seems like a potential opportunity to have Saurok and Rajani Mogu stuff in the future, and having both playable would play well in a current storyline and with each other. Itāll likely be something I will ramble on more and more in future posts.
But if a Titan or the Pantheon as a whole do get villain batted for whatever reason, Iām sure Saurok would have some strong words for them for the creation of the evil Mogu clans and their treatment of them.

Next monthās Trading Post items have been officially announced:
And the monthly reward is this jellyfish mount:
Nothing really Saurok related this month, not that I expect anything. It doesnāt hurt to keep an eye out, just in case, of course.
On another note, I ended up rescuing another little lizard, but this time not in my mailbox. It was stuck on my poolās solar cover and looked like another common garden skink, and may have been a young one since it was small.
I managed to catch it safely in a small net and set it free. Apparently my home is THE place for lizards lately. Maybe theyāve heard of my endeavors of supporting playable Horde Saurok.
Still hoping to find some Saurok I can put on the Horde side of that character creation screen someday!

One of the notable Dracthyr NPCās. Scalecommander Emberthal, appears at the upcoming WoW anniversary event and mentions the Dracthyr are interested in exploring Pandaria and meeting with the Pandaren:
It makes some sense, given several members of the Dragonflights were interested in Pandaria, given the MoP Remix event.
Thinking on it, if the Dracthyr do visit Pandaria, I feel like they would be able to form a bond with the Saurok there. Well, any Saurok that the Pandaren manage to make peace with (which should still be going on according to Lorewalker Cho in MoP).
Both Dracthyr and Saurok were created to serve a power that didnāt exactly have the most benevolent of intentions. Both also gained freedom and are trying to find their way in the world (of Warcraft!). So there are quite a few similarities between them.
Iāll have to keep an eye out and see if anything comes from this flavor text. Honestly, if we got playable Horde Saurok, the Dracthyr could also play really well in their storyline. Both they and the Orcs have quite a few parallels between them and Saurok to really make for an interesting storyline.
And besides, Iām sure Saurok would love to be friends with someone who can make help with an instant BBQ food session.
-Playable Saurok for the Horde please!
You know, I could see the Pandaren including the Dracthyr in one of their peace ventures and the Saurok not attacking, out of caution of the unknown in the Dracthyr. That first step could led to open dialogue and who knows from there.
It would depend on the Saurok tribe whether they attack or not. It would be interesting if some tribes took an interest in meeting with the Dracthyr, other than wanting to eat their faces of course.
It could also be a thing where the Pandaren on Pandaria have made peace with some of the Saurok tribes already. In this case, it would make for an interesting meeting and bonding between them and the Dracthyr and could even help improve relations even more.
Lots of potential for storylines here!
