Encountering Saurok pirates would be interesting, but I would prefer if they were friendly Saurok pirates.
Not that I think it would lead to playable Horde Saurok of course, but it would be interesting to see. Maybe weād work with some pirate groups from BfA like the Bilge Rats or a crew that has several races within its ranks. Hard to really know what to expect, honestly.
Itās hard for me to imagine any pirates wanting to cause trouble and then thinking they can take on several Horde and Alliance champions that defeated several world (of Warcraft!) ending threats and went into the realms of death and back with any chance of winning. So maybe weāll work with some instead. Or maybe not.
Whatever does happen, Iāll help report what it actually is and if there is anything Saurok related. Not that I expect much of it, of course, but you never knowā¦

Came across a YouTube shorts video that showed off a few bearded dragons with some really cool scale colorsā¦along with some weird subtitles that donāt quite fit what the person speaking is saying exactly:
It has been awhile since I looked at RL reptiles and their scale colors and patterns. I need to do more of that to help inspire some playable Saurok scale customization idea inspiration!

I primarily wanted to share this art piece because it looks very Saurok-like and it can show what Saurok could look like if they were to ever reside in Unāgoro Crater. Itās one of many possibles of where playable Horde Saurok could have a racial base of course, but this does help imagine that idea a bit more. Especially if they were to scout out for either prey to hunt or enemies to keep an eye on.
As usual, Iāll be sharing more art pieces of various Lizardmen races for more playable Horde Saurok idea inspiration in the future!

Back in 2014. Elder Scrolls Online had a cinematic trailer for something called āThe Siege.ā While not a direct focus, there are a few Argonians in it. You can see the trailer here:
Seeing Lizardmen races in a cinematic setting is a bit helpful in imagining how Saurok could look if they ever became playable and appeared in WoW cinematic trailers and such. Itās pretty fun to imagine if I may be honest.
And seeing as WoW and ESO are kinda sibling MMOās now, it might be good to look more at ESO and the whole Elder Scrolls series to share more Argonian stuff here. Who knows? Maybe that could help inspire and up the chances of Saurok getting more love in some way. Wishful thinking of course, but I can still dream.

Got an interesting video in my YouTube recommendations today. This video shows off someoneās Warhammer model creation, I think itās a custom idea, as opposed to anything official, of a walking siege tower war machine thing for Lizardmen:
Itās a very cool idea. And while it can look impractical, in a world (of Warcraft!) of magic and such, it looks like something that would be great to see as a Saurok creation. Not only do you have a bunch of Lizardmen on top to shoot arrows and magic, but the beasts down below can effectively bite and trample any opposing army while having a scale hide to protect themselves.
I think Iāve mentioned something similar to this before with the Warhammer Lizardmen, where there is some sort of structure on top of a giant dinosaur or reptilian beat that can hold and protect archers and spell casters. Imagine if playable Saurok brought something like this and utilized several of them to help take on the big bad of the expansionās army and such.
Still, being able to ride and utilize something like this for a quest does sound like a fun time. Anyway, just a fun thing I came across I wanted to share.

So another title in the Exploring Azeroth series has been announced:
As you can tell from the title, this will involve Thalyssra and Lorāthemar going on a honey moon visiting the Broken Isles, Kul Tiras, Zandalar, and the Dragon Isles.
Of those areas, the only thing Saurok related things I can think of from those areas would be the Brinescale Tribe, which at best I would assume would just be a brief mention of the Bilgerats pirates. Maybe the Saurok at that underwater bar might get a mention if the love birds decide to visit it. Donāt think there was much else from what I can remember.
While Iām definitely not expecting a lot, especially since Exploring Azeroth: Pandaria barely had anything Saurok related much to my chagrin, Iāll get it at some point to see what all is in there. Iām guessing any future titles in the series will involve the new expansion areas or possibly exploration outside of Azeroth, like Outlands.
Exploring Azeroth: Islands and Isles is currently scheduled to come out Oct. 1st, 2024, so weāll see what all it brings if anything then.

Sharing this primarily for the scale colors, which look pretty great, and also some of the horn and spikes on the head to show off some potential Saurok customization options. Argonians have a lot of neat customization features that could look pretty good on Saurok. Given WoW and ESO are sibling MMOās now, looking more at Argonians in general would be a good thing to do occasionally.
Iāll be looking for more art pieces on Argonians and other Lizardmen races to share for playable Horde Saurok idea inspiration!

Nothing really Saurok related, which as usual, I donāt usually expect much in that regard. Iād guess they could look dashing as a sky captain if anything. Nothing like keeping up the dapper look as they leap upon their enemies to eat their face!
Iāll continue to report on each monthās Trading Post rewards just in case there is anything Saurok related at some point. Or at least point out some cool transmogs or so that could look good on them.

One of the racials for Saurok that has been suggested a few times is a stealth similar to the Night Elfās Shadowmeld, where a Saurok blends into the surroundings to hide. This idea comes from RL lizards that can change the colors of their scales, which isnāt unique to just chameleons.
This video on whiptail lizards shows an example of why lizards change their scale colors in certain environments:

So the idea of the racial isnāt too out there. Especially since many types of lizards were made in the creation for Saurok, so that can show both in racials and customization options.
As for how to make it different from Shadowmeld, Iām not sure. Obviously giving a full on stealth like a Rogueās stealth would be a bit overpowered, so it would require quite a bit of thought. Still, it is just one idea out of several for Saurok racials, which is fun to think about and speculate on.

So March is my birthday month and Iām sure yāall know what part of my birthday wish is. Honestly, seeing a big ole playable Horde Saurok launch party as their birthday of sorts sounds like a lot of fun. Maybe yāall can help to make that a reality someday!
With the beginning of each month, I make in-game suggestions for each race I want to see playable along with a mention of their respective megathreads on these forums. While it is far from a guarantee of seeing our dreams come true, I do think every little bit helps, and doing it monthly I feel is reasonable and not that intrusive or annoying.

Wowhead posted an article mentioning the possibility of Warcraft Rumble coming to PC:
I honestly would be happy if it came to the PC. I donāt have a smart phone (insert Blizzcon joke here) and the tablet I have could not run it well at all. I was barely able to get to where I could get the WoW reward from it, so being able to play it on PC until I get a device to play it would be great for me.
As for Saurok, I donāt recall seeing anything Saurok related in Warcraft Rumble. Maybe if they ever become a playable race in WoW, they could become Horde units. Otherwise, I could see them being lumped into the Beasts faction, which would be a bit depressing to see since Saurok can be much more than the feral beasts that some of the Saurok mobs in WoW are.
Ah well. If they make an appearance in Warcraft Rumble, Iāll be sure to report on it. Moreso if I can actually play the game someday. So hopefully it will come to PC officially someday!

Not soon enough unfortunately. And I donāt know if theyāll fit much in the next 3 expansions, especially as a tribe we can ally with. Maybe weāll be surprised, but weāll see when we get to each expansion.
Still not giving up, of course. Almost 5 years of maintaining this megathread and Iām not quitting anytime soon. Lots of different ways you could introduce playable Horde Saurok someday, and Iām all for looking at as many as possible!
I still think there are some great storyline opportunities if Saurok join the Horde and Rajani Mogu join the Alliance, where they both have things to help against the big bad of an expansion but need to learn to work together to have a chance of saving the world (of Warcraft!). Maybe that could tie into a return to Pandaria or something.
All I know is that if I get playable Horde Saurok, Iāll be excited as this lizard is for blueberries:
Just gotta keep at the support and hope for the best!

As you have likely seen by now, there will be an 8 hour maintenance next Tuesday, March 12th:
Speculation is that this is the next patch that may involve whatever that pirate looking symbol is from the road map. Blizzard is of course keeping tight-lipped on what exactly the patch is, and without it going to PTR, all we can do is speculate.
Iāll be covering what it is when it gets officially revealed. I donāt expect anything Saurok related, but if there is, Iāll report my findings regardless if it is good news or just enemy Saurok pirate mooks. But maybe weāll get surprised.
Iāll keep my eyes peeled and hope we get to help Captain Scalebeard or something. Yarr!
