Blizzard is opening up applications for the Community Council in 2024:
Iāve gone ahead and applied, though I honestly donāt know the chances that Iāll actually get to be on there.
I do want to state that if I get on there, I plan to give every megathread a voice and that I wonāt be going into business for myself. Several new megathreads have popped up since the first post on there linking to several, so Iāll want to make sure those new megathreads have representation too.
Iāll also want to bring up some things, such as how Customization Races have been treated and how to improve them, which Iāve mentioned wanting to for quite some time. There are a few other things I have in mind as well to bring up should I ever get on that Council.
But weāll see if it actually happens. Iām wanting to keep an open mind and not count my chickens before theyāve hatched. Even then, I canāt say Iād be perfect or that anything would come from my posts. Still worth a try, of course.
Speaking of text, it will be interesting to see my megathreads in bright yellow text if I do get on there. Hope it doesnāt clash with things in the main megathread post or become hard to read.
Also, for a future update to the main megathread post, I need to go through the Community Council posts to link posts of interest. Iāll add that to my to-do list when I can.
I donāt know if there will be any Saurok activity in TWW. Iām sure there will be new patches, but I canāt really see the chances being high with the theme of it. Midnight also sounds Elf centric, so I donāt know what the chances of Saurok activity in general would be.
If anything, maybe The Last Titan has a chance, though weāre far away from it to get any sort of story theme and such for it. But weāll see. Even if nothing comes from those expansions, Iāll still keep at supporting playable Horde Saurok for future expansions. I donāt plan to go anywhere anytime soon.

Our Saurok Ambassador visits Great Father Winter once again. He again wishes for his tribe to become full members of the Horde someday. Hopefully that wish will come true in the future!

Blizzard has released a Road Map for Retail WoW and several versions of Classic WoW:
One thing to mention is that pirate looking banner near the beginning. Not much info about what that is, though speculation is that it involves pirates of some kind. I assume these would be enemy pirates, whoever they would be, so if any Saurok are involved, they might be enemy pirates. Not that Iām expecting any Saurok presence to be honest, but weāll see what happens when we get there.
The War Within looks to have a tentative release between late summer and early fall. Iāll of course report on some Earthen related stuff including analyzing their unlock criteria, their placement on the character creation screen, and also how the Orgrimmar and Stormwind embassies look with their banners in both cities. Honestly, Iām kinda glad the Allied Race system is still being utilized, since it opens opportunities for some races to be playable that they may not have before, and it remains an important topic to talk about for any race request megathread.
Late next year will also have the WoW 20th anniversary event, which Iām assuming will be something pretty big for such a milestone. Whenever details are available, Iāll be sure to mention what this event is and celebrate the occasion. But thatāll be quite some time from now.
And of course, Iāll be doing Saurok stuff throughout all of 2024 and beyond. Hopefully Iāll be able to have my own Saurok warband someday!

Nothing really of note for Saurok, though they could look cool with that Time-Lost Salamanther. Especially if they go to bask on a heat rock together.
Thinking Iāll be getting that Salamanther and the Pterrodax mount, which Iāll have just enough for both. Honestly, I really wanted that Salamanther when I first saw it datamined on Wowhead, so Iām pretty happy to see it finally available.

While that would be nice, I suspect that if there are any pirates involved of any sort, theyād be the kind to want to plunder where ever they would be in that patch as opposed to wanting to drink some grog and sing sea shanties. If there are any Saurok crew members, theyād likely be jobbers with whatever pirate crew weād have to beat up.
Canāt really imagine working with pirates on something, but that would be fun. Iām still expecting enemy pirates if anything, which would beg the question of where would they be trying to plunder. Canāt imagine it being smart to try to attack the Dragon Isles, what with all the dragons and united denizens. Hopefully weāll get more info sooner than later.
But Iāll happily take friendly Saurok pirates of course!
Why not both? Plenty of room on that character creation screen!

Winter Veil Day is getting closer and closer! 
If anyone has any kids or just wants a fun story, I came across this reading of a book called āThe Christmas Lizard.ā It involves a lizard learning about Christmas from all the decorations in the house he lives in:
Makes me imagine Saurok discovering Winter Veil and admiring all the Winter Veil decorations, activities, and of course the food. Still hoping they get to join in on the festivities someday!

The Saurok Ambassador looks through the gifts under the Winter Veil tree. Once again, there is a present addressed to him! It reads: āTo a very special Saurok. May your dreams become true someday. Keep up the hard work!ā He quickly opens the present.
Why, itās a rack of foam swords! This will be very useful in training young Saurok to fight until theyāre ready to wield real weapons! His tribe will be happy to have them!
As for me, Iāll keep hoping to see a few things under my Winter Veil tree!

Iām going to be working on an end-of-year post as well as a new year post to start off 2024 in both my megathreads, which I should have the former up within a few days and the latter hopefully on or shortly after 2024 arrives. And of course Iāll be continuing the playable Horde Saurok and Ogre support in 2024 and beyond!
So whatever plans everyone has for New Yearās, please have a fun, happy, and safe holiday!

Is it just me or did 2023 seem to slowly move forward until the end, where it just zoomed on by?
Anyway, I decided Iāll do a bigger post for both my megathreads after New Yearās Day. Partly because what I can say would be more fitting looking towards the future than looking al 2023 as a whole, especially since not a whole lot of new Saurok stuff occurred, and partly because of a sinus headache from my sinuses fighting against allergy barbarians thinking my nose is the best place to have an epic party 24/7. Fun times.
What I will say is that I will of course be continuing the playable Horde Saurok support next year and beyond. Weāre going to hit our 5 year anniversary in 2024 and Iāve no interest in tossing in the towel any time soon. Even if the next three expansions may have little in the way of Saurok activity, Iāll still be marching in support and reporting anything of interest back in here. I knew making this megathread was more of a marathon than a sprint and honestly, I have fun making posts and having discussions here.
And for my interest in WoW, it has actually been increasing lately. Aside from Dragonflight being much much much better than Shadowlands, my current least favorite expansion, Iāve been liking the cross faction stuff and being able to share things between my Horde and Alliance characters. I canāt begin to say how great it feels to have just one character for each of the main professions and being able to share stuff between all characters. Makes it feel like a big happy family of sorts in a way.
Anyway, as we go into 2024, Iāll just leave this post with what Iām going to consider as our megathreadās current theme song:

2024 has started and despite my sinuses trying to break through my face with whatever I have, Iām going to make a New Yearās post here and in other megathreads I frequent. Granted, Iāll likely do that gradually.
Iāll break some stuff down into a few sections to ramble about them.
Megathread Continuation
As I mentioned before, Iām fully intending to keep at it with the playable Horde Saurok support as best as I can throughout this year and beyond, much to the rejoice of some and chagrin of others. I knew it would be quite the marathon when I started this and Iāve no plans to stop any time soon.
General Megathread Plans
Iām wanting to spruce up the main post of the megathread a bit more some and possibly add in some sections. One of which I was thinking of was having a section of all known Saurok tribes and going over them. Iāve done that before fairly early in this megathreadās lifespan, but it could be something worth another look to add to our Saurok research on the main megathread page. Not that I expect any of the current tribes to get reworked into being a playable Saurok tribe, but you never know. It helps to act as a source for all things Saurok just in case.
Iāve always been meaning to link to some posts throughout the megathread, such as posts Iāve done where I look at RL reptiles for playable Saurok idea inspiration. Some complications have come up in that Youtube videos or links Iāve posted before no longer work as theyāve been removed. I might have to do another round of those with fresh posts before I start linking them again.
I was also toying with the idea of addressing neutral Saurok under the faction section. Iāve talked about it before, and while I do strongly feel they are a Horde race, it is a possibility since weāre getting Horde Dwarves (yes, itās still weird to think about) and I could see Blizzard leaning more towards neutral races for better or worse in the future. I suppose itād be better than no playable Saurok and on the bright side, Iād still get to make my Saurok all on the Horde if they were neutral.
And seeing how the Allied Race system is still being utilized, I may look into revamping the faction system in general to talk about the possibility of Saurok as an Allied Race. Weāll have to see how it gets handled in The War Within first, however.
So far, that is all I can think of Iāll be doing with regards to megathread updates.
The New Expansions
We got ourselves not just one but three expansion announcements from Blizzcon, and while I donāt really expect much Saurok related from them, Iām still going to be covering them and keeping an eye out for stuff to report back here.
The War Within is set to release later this year. The main thing out of this expansion would be the Allied Race system being utilized. Iāll be looking into how Earthen are unlocked and their banner placements in the Horde and Alliance embassies. And while I donāt expect Saurok to appear this expansion, the continent weāre going to is kinda close to Pandaria, so who knows? Still hope to add some Saurok to my own warband someday regardless. Speaking of, did you know Saurok have warbands already from MoP? Just a fun thought I wanted to share.
Midnight seems to be focused on Elf stuff from the initial sound of it, so Iām not expecting a lot Saurok related here as well. But who knows? All I know Elves are serious business, so Iāll try to keep an open mind. Granted, Iām hoping Sanālayn get some love and become fully playable, but weāll see what this uniting Elf Tribes feature is when we get more info at a future Blizzcon.
The Last Titan is farthest away with little info other than a return trip to Northrend. I donāt know if a frozen continent is the best place for Saurok to be unveiled, so my expectations there are also minimal. We might see something related to them if any evil Mogu clans are being utilized by a Titan who is up to no good, but I donāt know if this is the expansion for that. If anything, Iād think that Tuskarr, Taunka, Frostborn, Sanālayn, and other denizens of Northrend might have higher priority. Doesnāt stop me from hoping of course.
So despite new expansions not having a whole lot to do with Saurok from the sound of it, there will be more expansions afterwards and Iām sure Iāll still be here supporting them as a playable Horde race. Hopefully theyāll be playable before I become elderly, but I can see myself still doing all this at that point and time. Why yes, I am that stubborn. How could you tell?
As we get details of each expansion going forward, Iāll be covering their features and giving some general thoughts of them. And of course during them, Iāll report any Saurok related findings if there are any.
Our Megathreadās Anniversary
On June 2nd, weāll be hitting our 5 year megathread anniversary. Itās something of a milestone, though I donāt really have any particular plans for it other than just my usual post for it. If anyone has any ideas, please feel free to share! And speaking of other peopleā¦

As usual, I want to thank everyone for their interest and support in here. Whether you come here and post or you just come to see what all we type out, it is greatly appreciated.
Maintaining a megathread isnāt easy and some days it can be a bit hard to get motivated to keep going. Regardless, a lot of you inspire me to keep at it here. Iāve seen others on the forums here mention wanting playable Saurok in other threads and Iāve even seen people mention that Saurok are a very wanted playable race. That is a pretty big leap from how Saurok were viewed before, where they were wanted but it was felt that they had little chance and thus not talked about.
Iām guessing Iām doing something right if Iām potentially inspiring others to want them as well. Iām honestly glad I started up this megathread during BfA and itās surprising at times how weāre still going strong here. And while nothing is guaranteed from what we do in here, I still have a lot of fun posting and talking with others in here.
So I want to again thank everyone here. Yāall are one of the big reasons I keep going. Iām glad people have been enjoying the work weāve put into this megathread, as it means a lot to me. Thank you!
In Closing
With a new year arriving, I want to see if I can hit the ground running. I look forward to working on my megathreads and also posting in other megathreads. 2024 might be the year of the dragon, but hopefully weāll have the year of lizards someday.
I know Iāll keep dreaming of seeing Saurok players running around Orgrimmar as champions of the Horde. Let us hope our dreams become reality someday! Here is to a new year and more playable Horde Saurok support! Cheers!

This lizard realized that a new year means a new month. Which means a new round of in-game feedback of playable Horde Saurok support! And you can help keep this lizard happy by helping with the in-game feedback!
With the beginning of each month, I make in-game suggestions for each race I want to see playable along with a mention of their respective megathreads on these forums. While it is far from a guarantee of seeing our dreams come true, I do think every little bit helps, and doing it monthly I feel is reasonable and not that intrusive or annoying.
If youāre interested in doing the same for races you want to see playable, I made a little guide on how to do so in-game here:
I imagine Saurok looking just as happy if not even more happy if they ever got to be playable. I know my Saurok characters would walk around with such a smile!
