The Unofficial High Elf Discussion Megathread

You know what’s really crazy? No one cares that people keep asking for blood elves to have void elves blue eye coloring but everyone seems to think it’s a big deal to have void elves be given pink skin.

Horde is always given what they want. The cynic in me makes me think they will have their cake and deny ours too.

I mean, maybe there should be a trade off as a compromise but then you erode the whole faction identity argument against high elves even further. And ironically, giving blood elves void elf eye coloring alone does as well.

To be fair though, Ion wasn’t exactly nice in regards to the comments he had made. He did upset a lot of people.

It was arrogant, it was rude and it was dismissive.

You spend so much time creating concepts, discussing ideas all for a race in a franchise that you absolutely love and you’re essentially told “Play Horde”. In the mean time, projecting people who want High Elves as shallow because we want a “Pale Blonde Elf” in the Alliance, despite very much expressing it was SO much more. He also gave ammunition to Trolls, to come into this thread, derail our discussions, mock the concepts and ask for what we’ve created to be added to Blood Elves.

Now of course, that doesn’t give justification to all the hate on Ion. That doesn’t mean it’s okay, because quite frankly it isnt. But you can’t blame people for having the emotions they hold.

However, you can’t judge an entire group based on the actions of few individuals. That’s utterly ridiculous. So grouping us up all together, making us out like we act in the same way is just silly.

We’re individuals, so judge the individual if you feel like judging someone not the entire group as a whole.

It’s pretty obvious what we are looking for. Playable Alliance High Elves. Where is the ambiguity? People simply respond to and shoot down the silly arguments put forward by the anti-helf lobby.

Well said sir. We look forward to welcoming your high elf toon into the Alliance when they become playable, should you decide to go that route.

And if not, may our blades never find each other.

I would love Ethereals

Green eyes > Blue eyes

Hey, just a heads up- but a super high quality image of Vereesa Windrunner’s card art from Hearthstone is up, and it’s pretty awesome!

She indeed has pinkish-purple eyes, but I think it might be tied to Thori’dal as it has the same glow radiating from it.

Maybe someone with permissions can post the image proper.

Yes it’s the same glow from Thori’dal, you can see it on parts of her armor too.

Yeah, Tal theorized that it was a “retcon” to change the green parts of her outfit to purple, but it really does seem to be part of the bow enchanting/empowering her.

Agreed!
At the VERY least, clean up that hideous Dead Scar!
And maybe give the good ol’ city some dailies?

Another High Elf, Archivist Elysiana will made into Hearthstone

But she got normal non-glowing eyes, but i’m not sure they are violet or blue. Considering those normal eyes, everything indicates that the purple glow in Vareesa’s eyes is from Thori’dal

(By the way i forgot how to “clean” links - fixed, thanks Bladinas!)

How long before blood elves start requesting purple arcane eyes?

Cool! Normal, nom-glowy eyes!

Her eyes are High Elf blue! Great find @Mowachassa and thanks @Bladinas for turning into a link.

Interesting, have their been other High Elf cards in Hearthstone? Wonder why suddenly they’re putting in some High Elf cards now? :face_with_monocle::wink:

EDIT: haha looks like we all got excited with the images

The recent expansion has been Dalaran focused, and there are a number of High Elves in Dalaran. Vereesa and Archivist Elysiana are the two that have been added so far. Alleria Windrunner is an alternate “skin” for the Hunter (replacing Rexxar) for a while now.

As far as I’m aware… these are the only ones. I’m honestly not that much of an Hearthstone buff.

Thank you very much! I only dabbled in hearthstone before that treasure adventure released, haven’t kept up since.

Relating to Dalaran makes sense, hope to see a lot more High Elf cards show up then

Sadly Achivist Elysiana was in the last batch of card reveals, so there aren’t any more for this set.

But you never know what they’ll add in the future.

Ah shucks, guess they’re at least trying to convey accurate populations unlike another Blizzard game we know  (and love lol)
