As opposed to the people who come on here ignoring portal mages and troops and the Silver Covenant and a Dalaran full of High Elves and Outland and saying that High Elves don’t make sense as an Allied Race cause “models” and “faction identity” and “models” and “population” and “models.”

Whatever you rename this thread y’all, just name it such that anyone who sees the posts from names that rhyme with Flydon, Scar, and Tyre (cause i’m SOOOOO tired of reading that bs) that they’ll know to instantly flag them for trolling.

tbf, /eyeroll

Ah yes, let’s get a headcount of people on the forums, a place people go almost solely to advocate or complain about things, the number of people complaining about not having playable High Elves compared to people against them.

That’ll show 'em!

Do you need a snack? You sound like you need a snack.

Eh, it’s impossible to separate who is actually against High Elves and who is against the Alliance getting anything they want.

Especially since the Ion gaffe gave them the opportunity to troll based on physiology.

This is definitely Trollish, also putting words in Blizzard’s mouth.

Gods … you really are just a miserable, unhappy human being aren’t u?

I don’t even care if it gets me a forum vaycay. That you come on here just to crap on something that has this many of us galvanized to gather and talk about it and do whatever you can to make this experience unenjoyable for us … I can’t help but not only feel irritated by you but also kind of sad.

That the thought of a pixelated race of HIgh Elves added to a game has you coming into a thread clearly designed to celebrate and promote that idea cause you’re so scared they’ll be added cause some how, unfathomable to all of us, YOUR game will somehow be impacted.

Here comes the forum vaycay comment: get a friggin’ life, dude. You clearly need one.

It’s more a curiosity thing than ‘here is a convincing stat to support our argument.’

I just see the same dozen faces consistently and I wonder how many people are actually invested enough on either side to leave a comment.

What you’re advocating for is to ruin the integrity of the faction divide and the flavors provided therein.

To dilute the uniqueness of each faction by making a race, the most populous Horde one at that, essentially available to players on the Alliance.

Destroying things that make each of our factions unique for players is always something I will hotly and passionately contest. The distinctivness of each race’s flavor is only diminished by reducing its exclusivity, much akin to any other exclusive rewards in any form in this game.

I don’t frankly care if you’re passionate about destroying a core part of this game. I will speak against it as a bad idea regardless.

The pro High elf side is vastly under represented. Sometimes people will pop on and throw in their support, but lots of them just don’t want to deal with trolls.

That’s just on the forums. I imagine the blizzard comment box is flooded.

Restoring the integrity of the faction divide. High Elves are part of the Alliance. The faction lines are blurred currently. They are mis-represented. The Alliance playable faction is missing one of their races and the Horde isn’t.

This blurred factionine, this playable discrepancy needs to be repaired.

Yeah, generally when I tally these it’s just a straight up list of how many people have voiced support or opposition. Post counts an the like aren’t factored in since, let’s face it, the conversation is usually dominated by a handful of regular posters on either side.

But it’s good to tally up those single posts of support or disagreement sometimes and try and get a bit of a clearer picture on the broader public sentiment. At least I think so.

It’s only ruined if you feel it’s ruined.

Plus we’ve more than established that High Elves that are politically and philosophically not the same as Blood Elves. So the addition of High Elves takes nothing away from Blood Elves. Regarding aesthetics you know as well as any of us that a playable High Elf Allied Race would not be a direct copy paste of Blood Elves and would itself not have customizations available to Blood Elves and vice versa.

Alliance High elves are no less misrepresented than Forest Trolls, Mok’nethal, Furbolgs, Hozen, or Jinyu.

All are races within the Alliance or Horde as NPCs. There is no misrepresentation except in your notion that the High Elves are somehow unique in this regard.

Not all races or factions, even those within our respective factions, are meant for player representation.

Yeah, I love to debate and lurkers won’t post if they feel like their views are being represented. If you watch, if I stop posting for a few days new voices will appear.

So Pandarens on both sides didn’t destroy the faction identity?

Dark skinned elves on both sides didn’t end the Horde?

And what does that mean exactly anyway. How is YOUR time spent in the game affected if someone 1000 miles away on a different server makes a High Elf to play? You’re still doing dungeons and raids with other Horde races, following Horde storylines, and a (batcrap crazy) Horde Warchief.

But if you have to fight High Elf npc’s or see another player with a slightly similar model, well the Horde identity is now meaningless somehow?

The fact that there are as many if not more posters I’ve seen who wish the Blood Elves WEREN’T in the Horde and that the Blood Elves themselves destroy the Horde identity then the same 3 trolls who seem to think High Elves will be the End of All Things says more about Horde identity than you’re apparent “muh models” crap.

Your argument above did not make me change my opinion of your stance. If anything, it just seems more obtuse, entitled, ethereal, and selfish.

This is true. But where are the multitude of threads advocating for them? There is no substantial vocal request for the majority of this list if any.

Also if people did want those races the majority of High Elf players wouldn’t oppose it. Some would, but we try to treat those like mushrooms.

I can’t speak for anyone else, but every time I see Forest Trolls, Ogres or Wildhammer being suggested or asked for, I try to voice my approval tbh.

Yeah, Forest trolls show up to bat for the horde every expansion, are integral to the Horde infrastructure, have major characters like Vereesa, are represented in the class hall, adventuring parties, and frontline forces of the Horde?

Strange. I play Horde all the time. I’ve never seen one.

I do as well.
