so the devs and lore are wrong now?
and posters in this thread are the definitive lore keepers?

they were silvermoon ranger generals so its fine
vereesa was exiled and literally copy pasted the entire silvermoon ranger theme
everything the sc elves have is copy pasted from blood elves
Blood elves are not high elves.
Change my mind.
Ion did not say that blood elves were actually high elves.
tbf, I think heâs the pure representation of the Anti-High Elf side.
tbf, whenever you talk him into a corner he swings back to âbut Ion said soâ ⌠usually after heâs done butchering the lore or full-on making stuff up âŚ
he kind of did
âthe high elves, NOW KNOWN as blood elvesâ
I couldnât care less about Ionâs biased opinions on lore which he doesnât understand
Nah, it isnât cause they copied Sylvanas. If Vereesa canât have âRanger Generalâ because she âcopied Sylvanasâ, no one can. You canât make up the rules as you go.
Strange how itâs also a family title, held by Windrunners for generations. Maybe she adopted the title to be a reminder of those she loved. That could be a possibility too ya know.
tbf, Ionâs answer sounded more like someone who wasnât prepared for that question, scrambled for the answer, and doesnât actually know anything about High Elf lore.
tbf, other devs have acknowledged the ask for high elves and expressed their support (which has been posted to your attention previously but you continue to ignore)
tbf, the ultimate default to âIon said soâ is weak. Laughably weak. Itâs the whole âthey also said Classic would never happenâ thing ⌠btw: Classic is coming (even when they said it wouldnât).
tbf
Except that he didnât say it like that, Fyre. Iâve seen the video and rewatched it. And he specifically said that he wouldnât rule out adding them in the future.
I miss Zoo already.
she is a much cuter avy. ty!
The other thing to keep in mind is that game directors switch games every so often and a new game director may look at this very differently.
âSo uhâŚâ
The way Ion talks when addressing the question demonstrate heâs unsure about what heâs talking and is scrambling for the answer, he talks the little he knows about the High Elves and the Blood Elves and when he realize heâs out of words he go straight into dismissive sentences.
âThey are like ⌠if if ⌠if what you want to be is a fair skinned (insert the rest here)â
tbf , Sadly this was the first time I ever watched a Q&A of any type. When they announced Allied Races, I tuned in to everything and anything cause I wanted to hear âHigh Elves for Alliance.â
tbf, Then this Q&A hit ⌠and I heard Ion speak for the first time ⌠and I lost all respect for him as a Director who knows nothing about the game heâs leading development for AND made such a completely idiotic statement (choosing to speak from ignorance instead of saying âOh I honestly donât know much about High Elves so i canât comment.â)
tbf, nothing he has said in any Q&A since has scored him any points with me. First impressions last.
In most Q&Aâs when he donât know to answer questions he used his special dodge powers talking a bunch of unrelated stuff or making dismissive statements, this is just one of the many examples.
âBlood Elves kind of are High Elves with slightly different eye color, different backstory in terms of their relationship with magic and the Sunwell, but they are, like if what if you want to be a fair skinned, light blonde haired tall majestic elf⌠that is a blood elf. And giving that race directly to the Alliance would have blurred a lot of lines between the two factions, but there also there isnât a clear example as who are what high elves are as a larger group that still remains on Azeroth. There is a couple- weâve just met Alleria again for the first time, but theyâre not out there in the same way. And so weâre looking to- when we add allied races- thereâs this desire to have things more distinct between the two factions with the faction conflict being so prominient and so the Void Elf angle tied into the story of Argus, the powers of Alleria awakened, was able to train others to harness- was able to give something that felt a bit like a blood elf, but had a unique flavor of its own on the Alliance. That said obviously understand if you love the Alliance, you are an Alliance player and you want to be a fair skinned light haired blue eyed elf⌠sorry. The Horde is there waiting for you. Eye color is not quite the same, there may be contact lenses in the future you never know, anything is possible in the future but no plans are in the near term to add High Elves as an Allied Race. Sorry.â
Correct me if Iâm wrong but saying theyâre âKind ofâ like High Elves and âThey AREâ High Elves are two completely different things.
Also saying that there isnât a âclear groupâ especially after everything with Vereesa and the Silver Covenant in not only previous espansions but THIS expansion is kinda backpedaling pretty hard.
And of course âThe Horde is Waiting for youâ is the line that launched this whole thing.
Oh look he referenced Alleria as a High Elf and not Void . Just noticed that.
Yeah I did my best to transcript it. If you donât believe my words- just watch the video.
Youâre correct.
Imagine saying âA calzone is kind of like a stromboli.â
Saying that in a mom and pop pizza shop run by Italians might get someone shown the door.
Hereâs an analogy for the sports fans:
Imagine a Football game that had the Baltimore Ravens as a playable team but not the Cleveland Browns. The Browns are in the game and the players really want to play the Cleveland Browns. But theyâre not playable. And the devs then say the the Baltimore Ravens are kind of like the Cleveland Browns. Anything is possible in the future. Baltimore is waiting for you. Thereâs no plans to add the Cleveland Browns in the near future.
nice false equivalency
tbf, its obvious ion is being coy
its like when ron burgundy says hes kind of a big deal. we all know hes a big deal
the nile is kind of a river in egypt
