Fun fact: The Humans in Warcraft 3 originally had a female Half Elf hero with archer "city/wood elf" theme before it was scrapped.
It's clearly a theme they were willing to develop, and can do so again.
Half-Elves are fine.
Theyre literally just High Elves, both culturally and physically, with a few different features... so this stance is confusing.
Is it just the name? That's weird since Blood elf players didnt develop a sudden urge to reclaim the name til now.
I personally want Half Elf subcustomization so yay!

Just give alliance humans with pointy ears, give blood elves with blue eyes, and be done with it.

I thank Blizzard for being on the nose like that. Might even be a precursor to explain how High Elves are different to mitigate the irrational animus we've seen around here.
Alliance got void elves because they are not going to get unaltered high elves at this point. The Horde got the main race back in BC and that's not going to change. The heritage scenario further exemplifies that.
It's more than likely that we'll see more development on the elf side of things with blood elves and void elves.
I tend to agree. This is ultimately how it will play out.

You can attribute a lot to a name.
Half elves would have shorter ears for starters. Could come in white-brown on the spectrum. They would be taller, thus warranting a different body/model. I would like an entirely new skeleton based on what i said tbh.
Fair enough, but why not both like Maghar?
High Elves can just use the same rig. Models are arbitrary. Just attach shorter ears/brows to a different face like they do for Blood elf eyes. Makes sense too since half elf faces are rounder.
[quote="207682283845"]fair enough
Also i strongly disagree half elves would take on High Elf Culture. Why? Because humans. Being so far from their ancestral home the High Elves would've adapted to Stormwind culture and raised their children on it. I see Half Elves as being way more spirited than their Elf half parents. Humans are curious and daring creatures where i find Elves to be more in line with tradition. I'd bet the Human side would win out. So there would be tattoos and not just some old elf tats. Human style tattoos whatever those may be.
EDIT: High elves have no reason to have shorter ears and different faces.

Half elves are largely incorporated into high elf society within the alliance. It wouldn't be far fetched to say most dalaran high elves have human ancestry in them. They are not half elves but not pure high elves. They are like 7/8ths elves
This in turn can all be reflected by having different options ranging from a pure high elf to a more half elf looking face and ears. That along with arcane tattoos, war paint, and different styles of hair making a lot of use of braids would set them apart by a lot. Also their eyes can be many shades of blue as well as silver, violet, and brown.

The issue with Void Elves as it stands is they were Blood Elves, a lot of this could have been solved easily to me if Void Elves had been a different story about Veressa aiding her sister and becoming a Void elf along with her kin.
It's not really a requirement though. Personally, I'd wish for Vereesa to die off to heighten the tension between Alleria and Sylvanas, I don't see her or the Silver Covenant really having much of an importance anymore (what little they had before, anyway.)
We'll probably see more join the void elves anyway as it's shown there are already those in the rift willing to learn so that's Blizzard's easy in for it otherwise they'd really not even have bothered showing it. Makes sense, they would definitely NOT be the first ones in the history of Warcraft willing to take on dangerous powers to do what they think will help them.
It's more likely we'll see continue development for the void elves as the expansion starts moving into the old god heavy elements through Alleria's interactions with the stuff and Blizzard will keep on showcasing that the main playable high elf is just going to always be the blood elves. The added heritage armor scenario shows their history and seems to be how they're developing things.

Oh God, this thread is still alive? And it's the same 5 pro ppl posting.
Yea, that's some protest, lol
Reasons why I will support High Elves until the end of this game.
Me too. Honestly at this point. I just ignore the Antis. Because after dealing with them for 10 whole months its probably for the best to not feed the Trolls and continue supporting for True Iconic Races.
Not only do i support for High Elves but also other 3 Warcraft 2 races like Forest Trolls, Wildhammmer Dwarves, and Ogres.

As long as Half Elves have Quel'dorei High Elf Features like Tattoos from Warcraft 2, Different Eye Color, and Different ear options and etc. I'll be fine with it.

No long ears. No 100 percent thalassian face, it must be rounder. tats are fine, could be passed on from parents. Taller than blood elves, humanish physique. I'd rubber stamp that.

Thank God it's not up to forum dudes who spitefully post anti-High Elf stuff every day, then.

it's mainly up to the blue's. Who have been lurking on this thread for a long time now but haven't yet posted anything.
The clear giveaway is the fact that the thread has reached 91 pages and it's still ongoing. They know players have a high demand for High Elves and they are prob reading posts here. Meanwhile I'm just sitting here waiting on the first blue reply to this thread. Cause that's alot more important to me as a player and fan of the high elves then anything.

I know you are crazily desperate for High Elves but were talking about Half Elves in this instance and having them deservedly distinguishably from Blood Elves is not crazy. Humans have short ears. Elves have long ears. When a baby is made they inherit traits from both parents. For the sake of making them different and not only cus it makes sense. Half Elves would have shorter ears. Not long ones, facial construction would be more rounded, they would have the long eyebrows probably. They would be taller as humans i believe are taller than Blood Elves. They would be stockier. Nothing i've said is outta the ordinary.

It's still going because the CM's job is to keep active topics going and contained in as few threads as possible. They don't mind people discussing any topic as long as it doesn't break the rules. It's not confirmation of anything either way.
If the horde gets san'layn as an allied race then we should definitely get high elves.

You're right, half-elves would most likely have a blending of features, but th only two examples of Half-elves in-game we have (Arator and Kalecgos) either use a full-on elf model or human model.
So commenting as if "half elves will have.." when there is no established model for it is incorrect.
Most likely they will be different, but how? That is up in the air.

This was added to the PTR

Looks like a recruitment banner. It's a new asset at least.
There where also some more additions and changes but this isn't the San'layn thread so I'm not going to talk about them too much.
But a "War for Quel'Thalas" patch would be a great time to add both races and show all the differences and different ideologies of the different Elf groups.

If that's the allied race banner then that means we're probably getting high elves. They always work on the horde first.
