lorelol with the Draenai was pretty funny. I still have a Shaman named Galaxian with a vanity guild <Additional Pylons> on an RP realm to point out the absurdity of space ship goat people taking the place of the demonic Eredar we all wanted. Hindsight it worked out okay.

I think that's whats so offensive about Lightforged Draenei. I mean, you had the Broken on Outland and you had the Argussian Reach Draenei, and even the void-touched Draenei on Argus.
And of all the infinitely cooler options for a Draenei-based Allied Race, Blizzard still decided to go with one that noone really wanted, noone really cared about, has fairly poor lore to justify themselves (seriously, what happened to the rest of the Alliance Expedition that was lost with Turalyon and Alleria that got hinted at way back in TBC?), has fewer class options than the race their based on and whose only redeeming quality is basically just T'Paartos.
EDIT: And I do apologise to people who are fans of LFD, but I personally just can't see them as anything but wasted potential.
I do find it amusing that Blood Elves got golden eyes for free while Draenei had to race change for it.

Relating that to this discussion one of the bigger challenges I've seen Blizz struggle with is finishing planned content. I assume there was more content envisioned for Argus. Only because Lightforged Draenai got almost no introduction, story, and anything but the Vindicaar. Draenai as a whole made out which is cool. I'm all about more for everyone. Void Elves got the real shaft.

My biggest gripe is that every expansion up to legion had depicted dreanei as being close to the light, especially with Velez and the Naaru. Now we have Lightforged Dreanei who are now 40w Dreanei that follow the light even more.. So it makes Regular Dreanei seem pointless.
Kinda why I hope Druids come with High Elves, so it mixes it up a bit of where the High Elves stand.

Yeah I kinda felt that too with the Draenai. Like I don't feel that for the Dwarves at all but idk why I'd roll a blue Draenai anymore. I get this for the Blood / High Elf debate and I take that part seriously. It's valid and I've said before that Blood Elves need some serious kissyface from Blizzard art production before a drop of helfing gets put in game. Aside from the teasers like an NPC or the data mined skin names. That torture, er, teasers is solid stuff.
They chomped big with these new "races", and they've got us all addicted to custom art for them. But you know they've been pumping out models for so long at this point I think they can make this a new standard. If Blizz can fix some of the gameplay challenges they're in a really good spot. Once they give us High Elves, I mean.
I honestly do not support this.
It blows my mind that so many many many people want the "blizzard polish" and ask for it again and again BUT THEN suddenly they say "LOL WAIT GIVE US BLUE EYE'D ELVES!" (Despite literally the reason they don't exist is because the race turned to the fel and changed their eye color very similar to go orcs skin turned green from brown)
Literally if you want blood elves the horde is waiting for you. Unironically agree with that. It's like saying the horde deserves leaper gnomes because 2+ gnomes are loyal to the horde. It's like saying the horde should get Night elves because they are so close to orgrimmar. your reasoning is literally head canon, they dont "represent" anything. They are a lost and broken race of a few individuals that happened to not be in silvermoon city when it was sacked AND when they started using fel magic to repair things.
It's not going to happen. Mark my words on this. what? are murlocs gonna be playable races too because someone happened to list off every murloc NPC that exists and every murloc npc that gives you a quest or speaks?
The spirit healer in island expos is a murloc!! MURLOCS CONFIRMED NEW RACE.
It's literally just elves with blue eyes. Play a blood elf death knight or just imagine you're one. you use enough head canon anyways to achieve what you're trying to accomplish.

Blood Elves are High Elves! No more Elves for the alliance!! Enjoy the void elves you got D:

This. Also stop trying to steal 40% of Horde base. If I was Blizzard, I wouldnt even guve you guys void elves. Taking our model and turn it purple is not original.
I support playable high elves. They've always been part of the Alliance and it doesn't make sense why they're not playable yet. :)

I doubt 40% of the horde will transfer to alliance when high elves are playable. People wont leave behind potentially years of work and their friends/guilds. Sure a few might happen but itll more than likely be like how some alliance have horde alts.
P.S. we agree. void elves were a bad choice.

You speak as if Alliance players are a collective of one mind and somehow have control of creative decisions within Blizzard.
How about the Alliance gain a faction that've been proven to already fight along side them, aka The Silver Covenant? Whom are more numerous than Void Elves ever were to begin with.
Before you go ahead and preach the tired old rhetoric of pale skin and blue eyes, It'd be the same as Tauren with moose antlers, or Draenei but with *GOLD EYES, WOW*.
The elves, all elves, are playing both sides, whether you like it or not.
You can keep the out dated Blood Elf model though.
I'd prefer my Silver Covenant High Elves to have more of a foresty, beef cake appearance. Kind of like Norz for males and Alleria for females.
But with tattoos, lots and lots of tattoos.
So I have to ask those who do not like the HE idea, what do you think about Blizzard dropping LF Forsaken on the Alliance?? What does that mean, a Forsaken model with tattoos? A group of forsaken killed and re-re rezād... how will that not blur faction identity, but High elves will??
And to note, the pandaren split between factions works okay, but they donāt seem to have been developed as to why the two sides continue to fight for their respective factions. High elves already have this story twist built into the game.
But what are your thoughts on LF Forsaken? Do you feel the same for them as you do HEs? Why or why not?

And if they happen, they will probably be Paladins. I guess all those people that have asked for Forsaken Paladins over the years will finally get to be one (on the Alliance).10/13/2018 01:07 AMPosted by TyrandiaSo I have to ask those who do not like the HE idea, what do you think about Blizzard dropping LF Forsaken on the Alliance?? So would you switch to Alliance for High Elves, or stay Horde as a Blood Elf?

Such delicious irony.
The idea that every single Blood Elf would switch factions just because a similar Allied Race is just stupid.
1. That already Happened with Void Elves and there was not mass exodus from the Horde. If anything more people where going Horde for the other Allied Races/Racials.
2. They would not get Demon Hunters or Death Knights, and would likely not get Warlocks.
3. They would have to grind reputation and have to have a 120 Alliance Character already.
4. Even if some did change what makes anyone thing they would delete their Blood Elves or completely stop playing it?
5. Despite the "Nerf" to Arcane Torrent, Blood Elves still have some of the best Racials. High Elf Racials would have to be extremely good for people to want to change.
6. They would likely not have the same options as Blood Elves so you would not get to recreate your Blood Elfs looks on Alliance.
There's other reasons be these are some of the main points.

So I was just running a dungeon and someone thought the Void Elf in our group was a Night Elf. Kept calling for Shadowmeld.
Yep, Alliance received such diverse options!
