I’ll make it simple for you if you are on a Horde character High Elf NPCs would be attacking you and trying to kill you save for in very specific areas of the game that are neutral. If you are on an Alliance character Blood Elf NPCs (and PvP flagged players) would be the ones trying to kill you. Pretty simple really. The same rational applies to Pandarean, Night Elves/Nightborne as well.
You try to prove that there’s high elves, but did you ever think that that was the ONLY high elves left? Certainly would be difficult to make them a playable race.
Trust me, dear kinsman: we breed like Noblegarden rabbits!
Flips hair
If Mag’har came from like a band of 20 from another dimension and Void Elves were labelled as an “Elite Crack Squad” with about an estimate of 12 or so, I’m sure High Elves will be fine, considering there are a range of HE settlements around Azeroth and beyond (Outland).
Dark spear trolls are canonically a small group of survivors of a tribe that nearly went extinct from murlocs
I think we should not engage too much in trolling discussions, because we only have 5k posts left before the thread is capped, and I also don’t think it’s good for our thread .
At this pace we’ll reach 20k posts by May.
In the good side though, the thread is only nine days way to be six months old.
You’re inadvertently making our case for us there Lydon.
High Elves are separated by faction. And banging Humans I suppose. Maybe that’s not “super separate” enough for you.
You still refuse to state HOW exactly playable High Elves on the Alliance do ANYTHING to diminish Blood Elves when the story they have to tell has nothing to do with Blood Elves, nothing to do with Silvermoon, and everything to do with what they’ve been doing since the split.
No Lydon. High Elves would not diminish anything about Blood Elves because they have an entirely different story to tell and Blood Elves objectively lose NOTHING.
High Elves would not “usurp, infringe, duplicate, or bleedover” Blood Elven lore (past the point of the split), themes, or flavor. They would share a model that would be differentiated with unique customizations and perhaps a new idle stance.
And just to stick the point home, twist the knife, and make sure you remember, High Elves don’t infringe on Blood Elf lore any more than Void Elves do. I get that you don’t like that, but if Void Elves can be allowed to exist while “infringing” on your precious model and lore, then High Elves, who actually have a ton of untold story that has nothing to do with Blood Elves or Silvermoon, actually infringe LESS, especially since they were never Blood Elves to begin with, while Void Elves were.
And with some unique hairstyles and a unique idle stance they would actually have a noticeably different silhouette than Blood Elves while a Void Elf and a Blood Elf in full armor remain virtually indistinguishable.
Not even sure…I mean I would laugh if Blizzard just put in a story theme and said yup all the high elves died. …deal with it.
So why haven’t they? Why have they kept alliance high elves around this entire time? Why did they even bother to keep the silver covenant faction around, and put them in conflicts as recent as isle of thunder & siege of suramar?
I wonder if the few people who feel the need to try to say “High Elves should not be a thing” realize they are causing the majority of players who are in favor of them to reply thus bumping the thread?
There’s this weird sort of circle of logic that happens with this point in particular:
‘Stop asking for High Elves. Blood Elves are too similar to High Elves’
‘Okay, so let’s make High Elves more distinct.’
‘You can’t do that because they’re the same thing!’
‘Well, no they’re not, see, you’ve got the Blood Elf story and themes, and then over here we can explain the High Elf story and themes’
‘Stop trying to steal the Blood Elf identity!’
‘We’re…not? If you’ll just let me explain how they’re different-’
‘Stop asking for High Elves. Blood Elves are too similar to High Elves.’
I mean, I just see it over and over again, where the arguing points against High Elves are both that they’re too similar, but you’re not allowed to change them either.
There’s almost an intentional ignorance of the narrative and thematic differences beween High Elves and Blood Elves, but also a resistance to expand on those differences to make the rift wider if necessary as well.
If you hold the position that ‘High Elves are completely the same as Blood Elves (which, they aren’t), and they have to stay that way (which, even if they did, they don’t)’, then, yeah, no argument is ever going to be good enough
Actually Chen Stormstout is a founding member of the Horde under Thrall, with his aiding in the founding of Durotar. So technically this would make them a “core Horde race” being as he was the first Pandarean NPC introduced in the RTS games.
i feel like no one ever actually explains what the high elf story is tbh. besides they left quel’thalas like 16 years ago.how are they different? even blizzard couldnt do it
Well, I would not be surprised tbh, since Blizzard is totally Horde biased, and is making sure nobody will be playing Alliance in the foresable future.
Your outcome is complete plausible seeing how Blizzard is treating their fans, maybe it’s the push I need to leave the sinking ship. Before you ask, I’m only sticking to the game because of my character, it’s hard to leave so much effort behind.
I’m glad you’re enjoying your Zandalari after six years waiting though.
tbf arch, most of the posters in this thread are alliance and its usually a void elf. so people are playing alliance
p.s. would love to do a mythic with you sometime
And what gameplay feature is that that holds a unique reward? I thought I was talkin’ crazy.
Well, I’ve actually covered this topic at least half a dozen times in this thread. And I can recall at least three (possibly a fourth and a fifth) members also covering it.
So it’s definitely there.
This. The eternal cycle.
well its not in the first post, which is super opinionated and then talks about a warfront that doesnt make much sense to me tbh.
all i ever see is alliance high elves exist and have been around for awhile. no ones arguing that, but at the same time no ones given them an identity beyond they just prefer the alliance and blizzard couldnt crack that nut either…
As God-King Ion intended.
May it one day be broken by his hand.
