The Unofficial High Elf Discussion Megathread

It would be a good way to show a clash in their ideologies and ideals and a good way to set up their relation to the Alliance and Void Elves.

But like I said, it’s more likely to be in relation to Void Elves vs Blood Elves and an answer to the low Void Elf population.

Il’gynoths whispers seem to hint in the Void Elf direction as well… Hmmm…

It’s not support it’s speculation.

Not to mention people want Silvermoon and Exedar to be reworked badly.

Also, them refusing to chase Silvermoon and pursuing a new path could be the start of development for High Elves that makes them playable.

Because speculating on future lore developments can help us all figure out the best time for Allied Race introductions.

It’s also been theorized a good time to add Forest Trolls and San’layn as HORDE races.

And you’re not the only “Blood Elf Player” here. Some are actually excited to see the Blood Elves kicking rear instead of having to be coddled by the Forsaken just to survive.

I’d rather they have some relevance to the game than be left to rot, forever forgotten and irrelevant.

While I agree with you, it’ll not stop them from coming here to freak for nothing. Their purpose is just make mess around to get the thread locked.

They always find something to freak out.

Yes just this why bring it up at all, if it has nothing to do with the Alliance getting Playable High Elves. It makes the whole pro High Elf community look like they want to take things from the Blood Elf community, even when they don’t. It the whole guilty by association thing at work.

But isn’t like updating their visuals and structure to enable flying, with new portals and transmog/void storage a better way to do it? I rather have this than them being destroyed and later on becoming territory of the other faction.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s not out of malice. It’s brainstorming story elements to showcase things that could happen based on both datamined information and a desire to help bring High Elves into playable status.

I just feel like any mention of Silvermoon in most contexts can be “triggering” to those who might feel like High Elves infringe on Blood Elves. Basically I’d like my side to avoid any such references.

And yes Archmage I know people will still come here to post their opposition to us, but we can at the very least not give them ammo to shoot us with. Let them bring their own.

Blizzard won’t ever do that unless they have a reason too.

What part of having Blood Elves fleeing while their city is overrun, Their major source of existence is destroyed, and their Lore Characters are killed off, has them kicking rear?
I don’t count Blood Elf players that would rather be playing High Elves as actual Blood Elf supporters. Most of them are probably alts made to make it look like a portion of Blood Elf Players is okay with having themselves stomped on.

Alamara gave a reason yesterday: Overhauling the leveling experience, i think it’s extremely unlikely, but if Blizzard want to target new players, this is the way to go, but without Red Kalimdor and Blue Eastern Kingdoms, give them variety of places to go and explore, don’t confine them in one continent.
Actually just adding a Transmog/Void Storage room and more portals on those cities can help a lot.

I don’t know that it’s avoidable. The issue is that a lot of the people who are against playable High Elves are hyper-reactive.

Our talking about what may or may not happen in Silvermoon doesn’t increase or decrease the odds of those things happening. It’s not exactly off topic either. When you’re talking about including Quel’dorei, speculating on current events in Azeroth is kind of necessary.

At the end of the day they’re just nervous about the consequences of a Warfront near Silvermoon.

But you know… How many Kal’dorei players are worried about a Warfront in Darkshore?

I think that’s just how Warfronts play out. If they are endangering something you identify with then you’re likely to get nervous about it.

I agree with adding missing amenities to the other capitals.

Blizzard creates a self fulfilling prophecy by claiming “we don’t add those things cause no one goes there”… when no one goes there because the amenities they want/need aren’t there.

Funneling everyone to Stormwind/Orgrimmar make those locations seem more populated… too populated in some cases. There’s no reason they have to concentrate so much of the population in one place. Its ok to spread us out and have all capitals have basics like Barber Shops, Transmog, Void Storage, etc.

case in point it has been the same people for months some going all the way to when this started a year ago.

They freak out about every little thing we say. They actively try to undermine us. We debunk all of their arguments except one which happens to be just an opinion and doesn’t make for a good argument. They come in a week or 2 later with the same argument and tell us that what we used to debunk it last time doesn’t count and to find some other thing that debunks it.

honestly at this point it is very obvious they are not here to discuss or try to compromise (though a compromise isn’t even necessary). What they do akin to brigading the thread every week.
When they are gone this thread is productive and flourishes with ideas ranging from art concepts, to story focus, and even what form they would take as an independent faction equal to the other alliance nations.

Commanders don’t die in Warfronts.

Fighting to take something doesn’t mean you actually get it.

Lor’themar is literally the do nothing leader of the Horde next to Bane. He needs a place to take action.

The Darkshore Warfront and the lead up to it did an amazing job of giving the fangs back to the Night Elves and it could to wonders for the Blood Elves state.

  1. People play more than one character/faction.

  2. It’s much more likely to be a Blood Elf vs Void Elf thing.

  3. It doesn’t matter what you “count” a lot of people want to see the Blood Elf leaders take a more direct role and have the Blood Elves use all their cool toys.

And they said they aren’t going to do that. Despite how much it’s needed…

I think it’s time for you to log out of the forums for a while and do something else

@everyone I’m sorry she is young and rather passionate about Blood Elves, and believes you are trying to ruin them. We’ve been arguing about whether or not High Elves should be added for the past few days. As you can tell I’m for their inclusion, she is firmly against it on the grounds it will destroy the Blood Elf player base, and negatively effect the Horde.

Darling. I’d hide her age. It’s the internet. There are creeps. Thanks for the explanation though.

That’s… debatable. I mean, the only downside the Forsaken suffered out of that was 1 less Val’kyr that I don’t think was ever seen before. Tyrande inexplicably let Belmont of the Hook and they just stood there and let Nathanos flee when they could’ve easily gone after him to finish the job.

Meanwhile the Horde got Sira and Delaryn on their side now…

I just don’t get why anyone thinks it will “destroy the blood elf player base”.

I mean why would it? If you like Blood Elves, and you’re happy with Blood Elves, why would you suddenly up and faction change to Alliance? I just don’t see the logic in thinking people would faction change for… reasons.

Especially faction change to the faction with less players, guilds, groups, motivation to keep playing the game…
I don’t pretend to faction change my Belf, i can just make a new character.
