The Unofficial High Elf Discussion Megathread

“His first words were “Uulwi ifis halahs gag erh’ongg w’ssh””

Since when

The Highvale literally prohibited the practice of magic in their land. That goes opposite to everything Blood Elves stand for.

And the Silver Covenant was straight up mudering Blood Elves in Dalaran while they had the chance.

You know the Allerian Hold elves heard about what happened and were literally like, "We’ll stay in Outland."

and like Lavinya just said, Quel’danil forsake magic and Silver Covenant literally fed Blood Elves to sharks.

(I hate to use the word literally twice in one post but both of those situations are so absurd that it’s important.)

D’awww, thanks.

I try to be level-headed and rational, but for a long while I was genuinely hacked off at Lor’themar as a do-nothing leader. I mean, it wasn’t until MoP that he actually did anything. I just wish he’d do a bit more these days. It’s all Liadrin. I’d kill for Rommath to do something as well.

no that was jaina. they helped pushed the horde out of dalaran yes but its not a far stretch to think if a group of high elves came across a group of blood elves they didnt FLAT OUT try to kill them… more likely they were like “yo you gotta go or jainas gonna kill you”

Haha. I just watched that quest. I didn’t see Jaina anywhere. I saw a lot of Silver Covenant fighting Sunreavers.

oh youre gonna compare hostile NPCs fighting each other to a real world concept :woman_shrugging:

I love the stunned silence in the thread right now.

If you want to use real world concepts… we humans kill each other all the time for various reasons.

And in game… human players aren’t politely telling the Defias to leave, they outright slaughter them en masse.

jaina was asking the silver covenant to kill their brothers and sisters but ok

The Silver Covenant hates Blood Elves. Their very description in-game says they oppose the Blood Elves joining their Kirin Tor.

thats just a gameplay narrative it doesnt reflect the fact that the elves are being put in a situation neither side wants to take part in :joy::joy::joy:

grins I’m gonna be quiet so I don’t “Gaslight” you.

Hopefully Blizzard adds an ignore function so I don’t have to see their drivel anymore.

I’ll step in this conversation because it’s full of false and imprecise info.

  1. After the Divine Bell was stolen from Darnassus through use of Dalaran’s portal network, Jaina ordered Aethas Sunreaver to surrender and the Horde to leave Dalaran.
  2. Aethas Sunreaver refused to cooperate, and Jaina promptly captured him and ordered the “Purge of Dalaran”.
  3. The orders, clearly stated in questing, were the Sunreavers would be imprisoned in the Violet Hold. The ones who resisted, however, could be killed.
  4. The Purge was conducted by the Silver Covenant, with Alliance forces later joining them.
  5. In the Horde questing, you see Silver Covenant detaining the sunreavers that do not resist in the area of the sewers where you arrive.
  6. In the city above, Jaina patrols the street. She attacks Sunreavers, teleporting them to the Violet Hold after a few attacks. Even the Horde player is teleported rather than killed if he aggros Jaina. However, due to level cap increasing and Jaina being a boss character, once WoD came out Jaina’s attacks started killing the sunreavers due to her being leveled far above them. A lot of people use this to say she was killing the sunreavers. This is false.

She’s just here to help us all roleplay as Void Elves. She’s one of those mad whispers you’ve just got to ignore.

Fyrebusche thinks Jaina’s bug is canon, despite devs outright coming out to say it isn’t

But what we see the Silver Covenant do, hear they say, and hear from Rommath is clearly pure gameplay and has nothing to do in the Lore. Despite there being no indication, surely the High Elves were crying as they fed Sunreavers to the Sharks in Dalaran on orders from Jaina, definitely.

Can mods lock someone out of a specific thread, by the way?

this literally didnt happen

youre right tho im sure they reveled in killing fellow elves

As it should be. It´s the coherent and rational progression of their story, not the ridiculous “but muh Quel´thalas” idiocy our new incompetent devs seem stubborn to force for their “Rule of Kewl!!”

Careful, stay classy. There are players that DO like the Velf themathics and their potential, so respect those other players´s wishes. Don´t do to others what you dislike being done upon you.

Just like we Belf players had to manage Velf implementation, you people WILL have to too, period.

My discipline Priest main and my subtlety rogue are both Void Elves. I love them. But I agree with her. Void Elves are basically unstable and constantly trying not to lose it. Alleria is the best of them and she struggles.
