Playable Alliance High Elves should not infringe on Blood Elves at all outside of maybe a small reference to their shared past before the split. But that should never be the focus of the Alliance High Elf story.
I also agree with you that it sucks that Blizzard is just tossing the Horde into the “Villain” box. Neither faction should painted as the villain and boy does BfA go out of its way to make the Horde look bad thanks to mustache twirling Sylvanas.
High Elves wouldn’t need Blood Elves getting villain batted to be played.
If anything, it’s the Void Elves would require a little messing with the Blood Elves to be more swallowable, as was proposed a while ago.
I didn’t know they were promoted to developers, congratulations on them both.
High Elf Rangers came before Blood Elf Rangers. And Blood Elf Rangers have been overshadowed by Blood Knights and Magisters for a while now. I’m not saying they don’t exist, but they’re not the stars of their race.
Then explain why the aforementioned “suggestion” for the Warfront is in the very first post of this thread? Cause according to you, it shouldn´t be here at all…
I don´t care over an attack to Silvermoon -heck, I´m all for losing the stupid Sunwell, maybe that way the ridiculous “buuut, buut!! Belves are HULY ELVES They CAN´T HAVE BLUE EYES!!!” argument would die already and Belves would finally be free from the narrative handicap that is that overvalued fount-… but I do care over you people saying your petitions don´t want to detract from Belf lore while inmediately after suggest the villain bat and/or faction change of a VERY important Belf NPC.
I´m sure you peole can think on another NPC to fulfill your “traitor” agenda… heck Auric would be perfect!! last time we saw him he was in Quel´Danas!! at the very heart of the Sunwell itself!!
Because High Elves would inevitably be tied to a Silvermoon Warfront.
The Silvermoon Warfront was something that looked like it was going to happen. Which would mean High Elves would get some nice chunk of screentime in BfA. And more High Elf screentime = more reason to add them as an Allied Race.
Sylvanas was never a Blood Elf. She was High Elf, and then Arthas killed her and revived her as a Banshee.
Alleria has been Rangering long before her, too.
I’m not claiming it as exclusive to the Alliance. I’m saying it’s more prominent with High Elves than Blood Elves.
First, the OP’s opinion is his own, and this is a thread that continues over a dozen other threads from the other forums, it’s not some gospel we all follow.
Second, the part about the warfront is clearly called “speculation” and bases itself on real datamined text. It’s not a suggestion, it’s not a requirement, it’s not a demand, it’s just someone using its imagination to extrapolate real evidence found on the game itself.
And third, like I said, said warfront can happen anyway, without playable high elves.
I already stated my distaste with the idea of Silvermoon Warfront, i don’t want it to happen and thankfully it will not, Warfronts sucks and the zone is on the same build than Outland making it ridiculously hard to work on. I want actual legit Alliance High Elves and not some Silvermoon Regufees, aka Void Elves.
Someone didn´t read my post… dear, literally Blood Knights were nothing but glorified NPCs stading there since Sunwell Plateau up until WoD. Liadrin AFKed WotLK, Cata and MoP. The Farstriders and Halduron on the other hand have been consistently present in the game for the Horde and Belf players, with the only exception being WoD itself.
So, no. You argument Is moot and is hypocritical AF. Fulfill what your fellow pro-high elves posters say and stop trying to co-opt the Farstriders or worse, their most prominent NPCs.
Btw, Ranger theme can still be prominent in your race, just divorce it from Quel´Thalas, period. Make the SC more reliable in Human or Nelf tactics, that´s literally the only thing you have to do!! Heck, your “Highvale” faction already denounced arcane -and sorry, but even as Farstriders Belf NPCs STILL make use of magic and arcane for their tactical exercises-, so go from there!!
so why are you here exactly? no one is asking for blood elven things here. You are telling us to go ask what we have been asking for already for over a year.
When did I try to co-opt Farstriders or their NPCs? Did I ever say they should switch sides? If so, then please, show me.
I’m just saying, we see way more Magisters and Blood Knights then Farstriders nowadays. Even the High Elf Island Expedition team consists of two Fire Mages and one Paladin, despite going to an uncharted island fitting perfectly with “farstriding”. Liadrin commanded the Blood Elf efforts against Elisande, and now she commands the efforts in Arathi, while the Reliquary works in Zuldazar, and I’ve yet to see groups of Farstriders in BfA (might’ve missed them, though).
I’m not saying Blood Elf Rangers don’t exist or that they should be removed to give High Elves something unique - I’m saying they’re not the races’ central class.
yes, ty. pls dont steal from the Blood Elves. people like lydon and me are here to protect the sanctity of the Blood Elf lore. i think this is why blizzard gave alliance void elves instead of just copy pasting an existing core horde race
Naturalist wood elvish High Elf Rangers acting with guerilla tactics as opposed to the more militarized and magic-empowered Farstrider Rangers, this sounds different even though the name is the same, Ranger.
