High elves are a loser race that should be wiped out like the traitors they are.

Am I helping?

I mean… from the Alliance (Human, Dwarve, Gnome) perspective the Sin’dorei are a traitor race.

And the Quel’dorei are loyalists.

Thanks for the commentary though Garithos Jr.

9974 isn’t a nice number, but 9975 is, and 10000 is even better.

Once upon a time there were 25 posts to go…
But no more!
Now we only need 24!

I shall endeavor to help us reach 10k while simultaneously expressing my support for playable Alliance High Elves!

I mean, I know this goes back such a long way now, but I just look at that and it still captures a look and feel that High Elves could still capture even now, because Blizzard went to such lengths to shift away from that when creating the whole broader aesthetic of the Blood Elves.

I mean, sure, the magical lanterns and towers may or may not thematically fit with High Elves anymore, depending on the narrative you choose to follow with them, but green grass, lush forests, wild, overgrown paths dotted with flowers, ancient carved stone architecture surrounded by wildlife. Humble homesteads with thatched roofs nestled in tranquil, idyllic glades and valleys.

This is all a design language High Elves could use, and it would be unique to them. Eversong forest is bathed in golds and reds - a High Elf area could instead be greens and blues and whites. Imagine, the green tranquility of Elwynn Forest, but turned up to be almost ethereal -a deep, forgotten wooded land forgotten by time and war, where High Elves have taken refuge from the war, with waterfalls and streams dotting the landscape, the trees giving way to hidden meadows of flowers and animals, where High Elves tend to their homes and forage the woods for nuts and herbs, while tending small gardens close to home full of lush vegetables and wildflowers, their houses expertly crafted, each beam carved with expert carpentry, each wall painted with vivid designs, tapestries adorning the walls and telling stories of their history while stone paths are mosaics of coloured stones. Every house is a marvel, every garden a wonder, and every minute spent makes you want to stay forever and forget the troubles of the world.

That’s the kind of High Elf aesthetic I imagine.

(Also, sorry for maybe waxing a bit poetic there, but hopefully it helps paint a picture.)

So…Eversong?

More Teldrassil-meets-Elwynn Forest.

So…Eversong but not in autumn?

I imagined something similar to LothlĂłrien.

Probably not a coincidence. Rivendell and Lothlorien both sprang to mind for me as I was writing it out, but also Tom Bombadil’s house as well, weirdly. It’s a combination of those elements of lush greenery, spring blooms, timelessness and healing and just being so vividly full of life that it seems almost magical.

If you’ve ever done a nature trail in a deep forest in springtime, you probably get the idea of what I’m going for.

See my problem with high elves is the amount of effort that would have to go into completely retconning their lore into being different from the Sin’dorei is that you then also have to take the most popular Alliance race (humans) and somehow make them just as different to give to the Horde.

At that point you’re doing more work than you should be considering allied races were never supposed to take as much effort as actual new races.

Lol, what? Only race easier to make is void elf, because velves required no effort.
