Because i got bored and was browsing wowpedia for any info on the other allied race possible plans i found this, https://d1u5p3l4wpay3k.cloudfront.net/wowpedia/4/42/San%27layn_and_high_elf_allied_races_fan_concepts.jpg?version=7ab8ddabc74840d8cb808eabe7c9a26a
Theres one for Half Ogres and Broken as well, same page i found them reused the forsaken skeleton with a human model as a Alterac Human was pretty neat.
Nothing about void elves in the story/lore livestream. They are BfA content, they had no prior story, and yet Blizzard doesnât even aknowledge their lack of lore in a lore panel. Worst race ever introduced, period. Itâs almost one whole year since they were made playable, and still we have no answers to even the most basic questions about them.
Must confess Iâve had some hope for High Elf information, because of the number of questions made by players about them. The live stream intended to be a story production process and lore recap live, rather than anything related to answering questions.
I was expecting no high elves, as they are not really current content, no matter how much people ask for them. But void elves? Itâs unexcusable that Blizzard pretends they donât exist.
I too was disappointed in the live stream today. It was honestly advertised wrong. It wasnât a story and lore discussion/QnA. It was just them talking about the design of the cinematics and how long creating this stuff can be with it being planned years in advance.
Itâs clear Danuser and Gregory love their jobs, but I think they spent a bit too long explaining their inner process rather than an actual discussion on Story/Lore. Or maybe this is what their intention was in which case they mislabeled their stream.
Either way, if they decide to do more of these in the future I hope the amount of exposition about their inner workings is done and over with and they can use those streams as a way to clarify any lore questions people have.
First thing this is WoW in 2019, Lore has been butchered to the point anything can happen, if you had told me about sticking to Lore 10 years ago Iâd be like well you have a point.
You also must remember that population isnât a point to not allow an Allied Race, letâs have a look at the races we already have.
Dark spear Trolls were on the brink of extinction till the horde saved them literally all they have is the echo isles and itâs tiny as hell!
Goblins literally were survivors from a boat.
Gnomes are another race where they were literally just survivors.
Draenei are all from one ship!.
Void Elves are literally like 12 people!.
Lore has been butchered through and through every expansion when Blizzard decides to make a change or go back on something they said, Night Elf Mages were wanted for some time, but they always said theyâll never learn arcane again and banished them.
But hey when Blizzard wants to make a change theyâll do it, in all honesty Iâm not saying WoW is dying but sub numbers have declined a lot, and if they donât do something to bring people in, Iâm not sure how they will stop the decline.
Allied Races is a small piece of the pie to help WoW, in my opinion, screw bringing a new class, focus on Allied Races and Class design! The 2 major things that people want!.
Letâs start pumping out Allied Races like Rabbits!!
Not really adding to the discussion, but in the new portal room on the PTR, guess what race they picked for two of the portal channelers and one mage trainer?
Yes we know about the portal trainers. Honestly? I firmly believe we will be getting high elves in the next couple years. We have made our impression. We have heard from devs that they do indeed talk about high elves and other allied races the community advocates for inside blizzard.
I am expecting another pre order bonus 4 allied races for the next expansion themed around âold allegiancesâ Wildhammer, high elves, ogres/mokânathal, and forest trolls.
Battle for azeroth was pre planned with the allied races. Backlash to some of the story and what we have seen is probably the reason we donât have any confirmation of allied races past KT and zandalari. They may be scrambling to come up with replacements while changing the planned ones to customization for the base race like they did with the golden eyes for belfs and night warrior for night elves.
This just makes me think that they were always planned, but planned for later on. Especially since they said themselves that design is months, or even years, ahead of what we are currently seeing.
Maybe they have just been biting their tongues this whole time, waiting for that crucial point in the story to arrive where they become a thing.
Yea that would explain the stubborness of the story, WoD showed what happens when a sudden change goes badly too but when the Vulpera were seen at the BfA reveal they mightâve changed them suddenly for a release earlier due to positive reaction and might end up a good one.
Makes you wonder whats planned for the future if anything is planned, i canât 100% believe them saying (or claiming) the story is written months or years ahead because i see people make this lie in real life often to get themselves out of trouble (namely with there love life lol).
