Another point is Extrapolation. Devising an idea off of already existing lore.
For example, the idea that the physics could be different than the Blood Elf one because the majority of Blood Elves live in a fancy city run off magic with magic brooms and floating bookshelves and arcane constructs patrolling around.
It doesn’t mean they could all look like that lorewise or that Blood Elves can’t be buff, but it’s an easy way to emphasize the differences based on each culture.
It’s not real and it’s all conjecture but that doesn’t stop it from being a suggestion.
Another is the Half Elf idea.
We know there are Half Elves. We know all current ones in lore have something to do with Dalaran. We know the Silver Covenant is based in Dalaran.
Thus we can extrapolate that there are a good number of Half Elves in the Silver Covenant despite no exact proof.
It’s not something that’s 100% factual but it’s highly likely.
So if the Silver Covenant became playable they would be a good place to have Half Elf options.
Stating “Headcanon!” without actual discussion is nothing more then an attempt to shut it down.

In terms of the Half Elf Idea going into playable High Elves. You could also give High Elves some different skin colors like brown/black with White Pale, Tan White, and Pinkish White Color.
As for other options The would also get Ear Types like long and small Ears to Eye Colors of Blue, Silver, and Depth Blue. Also a mix of Dalaran Hairstyles with Highvale as well for Hair Color and Hairstyles too.
Speaking of Half Elves, I have a theory that ones that look like Elves are from a Male Human and Female Elf and the ones the look like Humans are the reverse.
Something like a mule and a hinny.
So your saying that We’re Half Elves too? If that’s the case where’s the Pointy ears then and War paint?
Perhaps a compromise. A unification. The Void Elves sanctuary of Telogrus Rift comes under attack from N’Zoth forces or some other void entity and Varessa and the High Elves come to the rescue. While also introducing a few new ethereal faces.
Afterwards they come together, and stand united. The Void Elves and the Silver Covenant.
And game mechanics wise, they change the lame racials.
The Spatial Rift becomes either a Lock movement port or a separate CD hearth. And Chill of the Night become a passive Shadow/Arcane resist and damage increase, by 1%.
And then after completing the scenario, players unlock High Elf customizations.
IDK, just spitballin’.

It’s hard to remember all these gibberish names…
Very nice ideas from all of you, In fact I used to think if they introduce Vereesa and her SC instead of Umbric to the Telogrus, in a radical motive for finding power against the horde, and Alleria come to chase and try stop them to the Rift since SC all turned into void elf, that would be a very touching lore background (and before VE introduced I actually thinking about that).
Although we could only discuss at here, let’s have faith and await for what Blizzard would bring us in future.
Also, I would give them paladins, same lore and mechanics as a void holy priest, finding the balance

That’s not how it works for Paladins though.
Paladins infuse themselves with Light and thus Void Elves can’t because they are infused with Void.
If Void Elves were ever to get Void Knights (Paladins of a sort), it would require both lore explanations and likely void based visuals for all their skills. Basically all their powers would come from the void (and probably look pretty awesome).

That just wouldn’t work.
They have to change the names of the spells and all the icons as well.
And thematically it would not make sense.
Blinding… Dark? Holy Shadow?
Black Light?
It would work just fine but as you said the spell names/icons would have to be changed as well as the visuals.
Flash of Darkness
Desecration
Void Shock
etc
Darkness can blind you as easily as light.

Kind of decreases the thematic of paladins (tauren do that enough of as is).
That being said the Tidesguard are basically water paladins, and the tidesages referred to sea priests.
Anything is possible.

I want high elves for NSFW purposes.

Yea it really just boils down to whatever Blizzard is willing to do. They come up with all sorts of weird lore gymnastics for things, Void-based Paladins wouldn’t be the most absurd thing they’ve given us.

Just saying the concept is way out there.
And for what? Getting a Paladin that doesn’t feel like a Paladin anymore?
I don’t think it’s impossible, but I don’t see it being worth the effort and if they don’t get it 100% right it would just be a big mess.

It’s not something they’d probably ever do so I wouldn’t worry too much. I was just saying that it could be done and they could come with all sorts of BS reasons why. But realistically I would be shocked if they ever did it. Void Shocked even!
