The Unofficial High Elf Discussion Megathread

It also shows how more people DONT want high elves.

Well, as I said void elf from high elf lore would also be acceptable, but since they are not, and Alliance are really victim on the case from my point of view.

Maybe the people here would have another word but for me you can have anything(on race) Alliance have as exchange, you can have human (Alteracian), you can have Eredar, In fact we don’t really reserving anything and it would only make the game more cool, I would be willing to see a human civil war as well for so long lol.

But from my pov is Alliance voice really be step on the ground at this time. I would even say if Blizzard be a bit like you and willing to do a deal then thing would be even more easier and everyone happy

Blood elves were high elves but they no longer recognize themselves as such, thus they call themselves blood elves. Those who still call themselves high elves do so out of hate towards the Horde. To call yourself a high elf is to stand against the Horde. It is also a defiance of the leadership of Silvermoon and a mockery of their legitimacy.

So what? If you check the poll, it’s mostly Horde players. If checking out the other faction approval was a requisite, blood elves shouldn’t exist.

Yeah, mmo-champion is a pretty horde- heavy site. I suspect most horde players would actually be pretty apathetic toward the inclusion of high elves.

You should have specified that in the other post. As it still shows the majority doesn’t want high elves.

We’ve probably made this clear already but we’re not requesting “er blood…high elves”. We’re requesting the alresdy alliance high elves to finally become playable, there’s 0 blood elfism involved in that and if you want to complain about blood elves being alliance you should be directing all your sass towards BlIzard for giving us literal blood elves already.
If it’s really all about the model then you wouldn’t mind of Blizzard altered it somewhat?

Jeez, calm down, i don’t know if you are trolling or not, but this is obnoxious.

I can’t like this hard enough. I clicked the like button so hard though.

I was flabbergasted when Nightborne were announced for Horde. I thought surely, if they would be playable as a race, they are Night Elves from olden times and Alliance would get them. I guess the art team put a little too much awesome in to Suramar to give the Alliance nice things.

Oh well, what’s done is done. It at least adds weight to the argument that a High Elf, in some fashion, should be a playable allied race for Alliance. And no, Void Elves are not it.

We really really need some feedback from the tight-lipped Blizzard on this one.

I apologise for pointing out statistics.

Just to elaborate on that: one of my last posts in the thread, five years ago, is still true today: https://www.mmo-champion.com/threads/1378408-Playable-High-Elves-in-the-Alliance-The-Poll?p=24110451&viewfull=1#post24110451

No what it shows is that most players never go to virus ridden MMO-C for any reason even to vote on a poll.

Too bad that poll got discontinued. Goes to show that Mods on there don’t want anything to do with High Elves. Even Threads like the Poll never really lasted ether.

Heya to the Pro-High Elf guys. I’m still rooting for you

I can’t help but observe that if we replaced “anti-High Elf” with “Blood Elf” and “Pro-High Elf” with “High Elf” in these discussions, it wouldn’t take much to make the arguments sound like they’re coming from the actual factions we’re talking about.

Blood Elf: “You’re just us with blue eyes. Get back over here.”

High Elf: “We are a separate political faction and we’re part of the Alliance.”

Blood Elf: “The Horde is waiting for you.”

High Elf: “Keep waiting.”

and so on.

Well, the correct assertion is that high elves are indeed the same race as blood elves but both races have diverged into different ethnicities.

"Race refers to a person’s physical characteristics, such as bone structure and skin, hair, or eye color. Ethnicity , however, refers to cultural factors, including nationality, regional culture, ancestry, and language. … You can have more than one ethnicities but you are said to have one race , even if it’s "mixed race ".

“I think we should wipe them all out”

“We did not feed off of fell we only used it for buildings!”

Man it all kinda does…

Yeah it’s kinda funny to watch. It’s nice that people are passionate about it on both sides. I’m personally pro high elf but to each their own.

It’s like for some they want to see their race’s choices as ‘Right’ and the other side want the same.

“Joining the Horde was the right thing to do!”

“Staying with the Alliance was the right thing to do!”

Kinda adds a nice layer to the whole thing IMO.

Yeah, and from my point of view, they’re both right, there are enough examples on reality history that when a whole society broken apart, a group of citizens form into more collective society and regain stable from radical move and suppress on “minority”, and then the minority group would tend to form individualists opposition-government if possible, and fight back.

You won’t blame Lor’themar made the decision to broke out Thalassian people when silver-moon literally at the edge of all-out Civilwar during D.P. 24, but High elves survived as an political group and now want to prove that the value of ‘never abandon allies’ and ‘collectivists rogues can’t represent all of the Thalassian’.

Blizzard could hand the answer of this question to all the players, give playable high elf and let ‘justice fight justice’, but the current move of them are like Blizzard already made a choice for their player and mocking the value that high elf represent, I just hope they can really think about it twice.:face_with_raised_eyebrow:
